Could it be?

Thana was on her own, wandering around New Dawn in her Lupus form. She was quickly getting used to her four legged form, which was surprising since she had never been in her Lupus form since she was a pup. Now she was almost always on four legs, even if she was in her Optime form. It was just becoming a habit.

Shadow was off doing something, but it didn’t really matter. The effects from her cycle were fading and it seemed the scent was fading as well. She knew what it meant. There was only one reason why her cycle would end nearly ten days before it was supposed to. She would wait a day or two before she would tell Shadow though, just in case she was wrong. Smiling, Thana laid down beneath a tree, relaxing in the shade for a bit. Perhaps she would run into a pack member, she had yet to meet many of them. Having gone into heat shortly after joining, she hadn’t moved around the pack much, mainly stayed close to Shadow or stayed away from the others. Now that it seemed her cycle was ending, perhaps she could actually get to know the others.

Rash, short of speech, and of temper Augustus couldn't be described as a social being. Well, he was social, in the feral sort of way. He was always there when his pack needed him, he'd fought off cougars and bears, feasted them on moose and deer, shielded them from any harm. But he'd rarely spoken to any of them...truly spoken. There were few in his inner circle, Ciara, Tharin, Shandom, three names, no more. Shandom had been even more secluded than usual lately, Tharin was busy recovering from his injuries, and Ciara, --his sweet golden spitfire of a woman was just as preoccupied as he was. New Dawn boasted a vast territory, and not all of it was open country. They dwelt alongside the great range of the Halycon mountains, and the terrain was often treacherous. Patrolling itself took a great deal of time and effort. But he was stronger for it, both of them were. This also meant that they're relationship hadn't progressed very far. The Sunders bitch provided a decent enough excuse, but it did nothing to relieve the tension between them. But sun and stars above he cared for his golden woman. She understood him. One of few, and that was all he could really ask for. Sometimes he wondered why she was with him, what it was he had done so right to deserve her. But the choice was made, the bridge was crossed, and she was his.

Wearily he arose from his nap, feeling just as tired as he had before he left the night before. His muscles ached beneath his bi-colored pelt and he stretched each of his legs with care, first the front, then the back, before he trotted out the mouth of the den. The days were growing shorter, the air, cooler, but he reveled it in. The change of the seaons was welcome in his eyes. The summer months had been brutal on his arctic pelt, and the breeze was delightful. He licked his lips idly as he made for the stream not far off, hoping to quench his thirst and cool him from the muggy air of the cavern in which they dwelt.

A scent caught his nose not long after he departed. It was faint, whatever it was, but he found himself drawn in by it. Nose to the ground the black and white behemoth followed it, the burning aroma growing stronger with each step. Yellow eyes darted quickly upwards, and he soon spotted the source. A dark pelted female basked in the shade of a tree. The heat scent was dying down in her fur, ensureing that his mind remained his own. His brows furrowed when he noticed that this was not a woman he'd ever met before. Charcoal ears stood erect, and he immediately stuck his tail out straight from his spine. Another whiff of her scent caused his pelt to bristle somewhat. Shadow. He looked left and right, expecting to see the two-legged form striding towards him. He was consoled when he noticed that the male wasn't here, and finally turned to greet the woman. "I've never seen you before, woman. What's your name?" As abrupt as always, it was the best the scarred brute could muster, as sad as that was. He was so very tired.
