ooc: Form, Secui

He knew what he needed to get and god it wasn't going to be easy. Five items, luckily one of those items he already had, but getting the remaining ones were going to prove a bit of a challenge. Still that was the entire point of this. To prove worth, so X'ies decided that he may as well get the most suicidal of the taks out of the way first. Short of it, X'ies had to kill a bear. Why a bear? Well it was all part of the master plan....killing one though was going to take some effort, particularly since he wasn't skilled in the bow or indeed in any kind of martial weaponary. not that someone would want to fight a bear claw to claw. Regardless of being creatures or not, bears...particularly during this season were bad tempered berserkers with strength that would likely tear off a wolves head in one swift blow. And that said nothing for their fangs. Ah...already this was sounding like a terrible idea.

He had managed to track to the den of one who was hibernating for the season, he had kept his distance however just scouting it out. Hours later he would return with a dagger and several long branches. This task was going to take a lot of physical effort and of course...shifting between two of his least prefered forms. With the knife he sharpened the edges of several branches and placed them down next to him. After which he would shift into secui form, and began to dig a hole much like one would dig a den. His plan was simple enough, create a pitfall, piss off the bear, run like hell and lure it into the trap. Not only would he get away without a scratch but assuming the bear didn't sense something was up, he would have completed the task without problem. Of course nothing came without its hiccups, and at about the half way point he started wishing that he'd brrought someone along for the hunt. But then that would take away the merit of the entire thing.

When the hole was deep enough he would soften the soil around the area where he planned to stick the spiked branches with water. The mud made them easier to put it place, but he wouldn't risk the mud not collapsing with the weight of the bear. So paitence would be needed, exiting out the incline that he had inadvertantly created with the digging, and covering said incline up. He would head back to camp leaving the spike pit to the air to allow time for the mud to dry out and become more ridgit. The next set of items that he was going to need whilst waiting for the pit were fox tails. Now he knew that one of the members of the pack for some reason kept foxes as pets ( he refused to accept the fact that the member saw prey as children) however apparantly they were out of bounds so he was forced into the forest, taking his lupus form when he entered so that he might hunt the sly little buggers more effectively. After several hours and many failed attempts, he had finally managed to bag two foxes and returned to camp with them between his jaws, gaining more than a few horrified looks, with them thinking he had actually snapped and killed the others " pets". Using the same knife that he had used to sharpen the sticks, he shifted into optime and with some effort managed to skin the foxes for their fur. He would keep the meat and eat it for himself, for what little it was worth.

Even as the day grew late, he kept on with his task keeping. Next couple of items on his list were going to be a bit more difficult, in fact so much so he felt like giving up on the entire thing. No woman was worth this much trouble, NO WOMAN. Asking around for the source of the item, he found that his best chance for getting it. The feathers of a golden eagle, was...you guessed it. Freetown. Either that or he could spend his time risking the top peaks of the mountain chasing a bird around like an idio-hell no. Returning to his pitfall he would look inside, seemed already that a couple of animals had fallen in and he hadn't even covered it up. Well weight test was more or less done, so with that he covered it up with some more branches, leaves (etc). And then he approached the bears den, spotting the large animal inside he would lift up a rock and chuck it at the large furry mass yelling. " Hey fatso". The bear would shift when the rock struck, the words however appeared to sting more than the rock and awakened it. And..the thing went in a bee line dash for him. In a comical moment of " oh hell oh hell oh hell". . He took a quick jump and launched himself over his spike pit, the bear focused on him would fail to notice the camoflague. And would fall in...to its death...or not.

Thing is, the bear didn't die right away it was taking its sweet time and cursing him the entire time. By the time the creature finally kicked the bucket night had fallen and he wasn't going to risk climbing down in the dark, so he laid down for the night and slept. First light, the grey wolf would dig the incline, and when done, proceed to drag the fat bear out of the pit. Strangely skinning the bear was a bit more difficult, and from the smell of it he didn't want to use it for meat either. He removed fangs, claws and fur, returning to his place on the mountain and setting down the items next to his fox pelts. Going to freetown would take awhile...so he would begin the work on the gift and add the last parts later. His plan was simple..he would craft what was known as the Aspect of the Nomads, a ceremonial gift granted to Shepards. Primarily it was a cloak, however was regularly used more practically as a form of covering one during cold winter nights. The cape of the cloak was made from the bear fur and would represent the Exultare family who fought with the strength and tenacity of the bear. The foxes represented the Evanule, with the fox's guile and craftiness. The foxes would be positioned on the shoulder portion, the head section making up pauldrons. Next came the owl feather, a symbol of the Lambda, however in this portion to add a personal touch, X'ies would use one feather from his mark of wisdom, but would also add a vulture feather in amongst it. These would be positioned on either side of the fox pets maw on the left hand side. On the right...would go the feathers of the golden eagle..a representation of the Marek the beauty of their designs and creativity.

X'ies had little experience, but all his will would go into this creation..
