ooc: You can reply if you'd like, but I mainly made this thread to just make Edgar's history more detailed I guess. Anyway, it's set in Paris, Illinois; where Edgar lived as a little kid. The wolf that taught him to read and write lives alone in an old candy store. The wolf learned how to make certain candies from just being around all the equpiment and is letting Edgar look around here. In this thread, Edgar learns how to make candy so I guess that skill will come in handy once he gets a house.

The small child watched carefully as the wolf's hands gathered all of the ingredients: sugar, powdered sugar, corn syrup and a few others that he couldn't name. The wolf ruffled his head affectionately, then gingerly sprinkling some of the powdered sugar onto a baking sheet. As soon as the man continued to make a small batch of peppermints for the boy, he had watched the child wander out of his sight. The man then smiled, knowing how it was when he had first wandered into the candy shop when he was his age. Edgar, the child, looked through the cracked glass and saw bright red strawberries drizzled with dark chocolate sitting out in front of him. The dog licked his lips, wanting badly to taste one. He then greedily climbed over the glass and took one for himself. After finishing his tasty treat, he took a jar full of little chocolates; enough to make a child like him vomit. Carrying the jar, little Edgar sat down on the ground by an old book that had recipes in it, he then read the book as he stuffed himself with the delicious heart-shaped chocolates. A few hours later, the wolf emerged from the back of the building with a bag full of peppermints just for the boy. He found Edgar reading the recipe book. With a courteous smile, he knelt down and put the book into the child's blue bag and handed him the bag of peppermints. Edgar wrapped his arms around the wolf, giving him a hug, and then ran out of the shop after he waved goodbye.

An hour later...

Edgar hid behind a tree, his bag of peppermints nearly empty from eating so many. He watched as his father came at his mother with a hunting knife, then brutally stabbing her several times in the chest, blood splattering everywhere, and then slashing her face. Tears came to the boy's eyes before he vomited up all of the chocolates and peppermints; he knew that he had had too many. Angrily, Edgar's father turned around and grabbed him, throwing him into the ground right by the barnhouse. He weakly crawled into the corner of the barn, his aunt and her seven children laughing at him as he continued to vomit.
