Zadkiel had had luck with finding an easy meal in the forested area towards the south. He was hoping to against have such luck here. But so far it didn't seem as if things were going to work out in his favor. He wasn't finding a den like he had found before. There were no delicate morsels just laying around and waiting to be snatched up by him. It would have been lovely if there had been but it wasn't as if he didn't already know how to hunt for himself. He could still catch his own food if he had to. He simply liked it best when banquets were laid out for him.

Just when Zadkiel had thought to give up the search he caught the scent of blood on the air. It wasn't quite old yet but it wasn't fresh either. Still Zadkiel found himself following along the trail to try and figured out where it was coming from. When he finally got there all he found was a mutilated body that was left behind. The mangled carcass had been torn apart by claws and teeth, clearly having been overtaken by a larger predator.

Zadkiel knelt down next to the remains and found himself picking at the matted tufts of fur. There was hardly any flesh left behind from what he could see. It was a severe reminder that wolves weren't the biggest and baddest that there was out there. Of course Zad hadn't had any such issues himself yet. but then again he didn't think he would try to take on something like a bear either. It made him curious about what this mixed breed was thinking when they had stood up to something that he assumed had to be larger than it had been.

OOC here. /+000

He couldn't just stay with his family all the time. He had to do work as well. Finding the right wood for making flexible bows with the strength that would be required was today's task. He'd been fine at first wandering through Casa, but he hadn't found what he'd been looking for. Instead he'd been forced further out, traveling deep through the woods. Each time he spotted something likely the scarred male slowed, studying the bend and movement of the branches.

Nothing he'd seen pleased him. Sighing he continued forwards, hoping that he would find what he was looking for soon. It would be nice to actually get to the carving, instead of just searching for the wood. Hadley didn't receive any warning when he walked through, finding a canine scraping at an old corpse. Blinking the large hybrid looked around before his gaze fell down again. Hi. That had been rather surprising. Well, perhaps not as much as he felt it was. Hadley just didn't know how to handle finding someone picking from an already well picked over corpse.

Zadkiel frowned as he couldn't find any piece of meat left that would be suitable for consumption. Clearly other scavengers had already come along and picked it over before he had gotten to it. It really was a pity. He had thought that he would have an easy time of it but clearly not. But wasn't that just the way that it went at times. Not everything could be so easy. He had his share of luck at times, just not right now. Perhaps he had too easy of a time finding a meal to the south that he wouldn't end up finding something so easily this time around. Eh, he would just have to deal with it though.

The blonde lifted his head when he was approached and looked up at the male that had come close an spoke to him. He was only given a simple greeting but it was enough to cause Zadkiel to stand and turn to face the other male. "Did you do this!? Is that why you are sneaking around out here!? Do you plan on doing this to me too now that I have found you out!?" Zadkiel was indignant, motioning to the mauled corpse. He thought to turn the accusation onto the other before it could be pinned on him. Zad had a reputation to uphold after all. The ones that knew of the trouble he could cause were all deceased and had passed through his digestive system already. Okay, so maybe not all of them but enough of them had gone that route. There were still the ones that had borne his young still around. But he tended to pick the ones that wouldn't talk of it or, if they did, were not likely to be believed.

"How could you do this!? What kind of sick monster are you!?" The blonde continued on with his tirade. Honestly he couldn't really care what happened here, other than him not getting a free meal, but he had the part of an innocent little angel to play. Therefore he had to act as if he was horrified at the find and he had to saw so himself his performance was a flawless one. But then again he was all too used to manipulating his situation and putting on airs to get others to believe him. "You are so sick! I'm not going to let you get away with this!" Zadkiel tossed his head back and howled, trying to alert anyone and everyone in the area that something was going on. He didn't honestly believe that the other could have done something like this, as Zadkiel had already figured it was a bear or some other large animal, but thought to at least see if he could freak the other out over getting caught at the scene of the crime and having all of the blame placed onto him.

OOC: wanna invite someone in?

What? The shock on the other's face was enough to get Hadley to take a double look at the corpse. He couldn't actually smell anything, and it had been mauled beyond recognition. Wasn't it just a deer or some other animal? It couldn't actually be a canine that had been killed like that. Accused of doing that to the blond wolf Hadley quickly shook his head, backing up. No! I wouldn't do that. He would never hurt anyone. He just couldn't. It was one of his largest flaws, that even with defensive lessons getting him to act on it and defend himself was difficult. He couldn't stop worrying about what would happen if he hurt someone.

His ears flattened and his tail rose up to tuck between his legs, confused by the accusation. Backing up he stared at the corpse, trying to make out whether it truly was a canine or not. His nose twitched, but it couldn't help him. The howl sent Hadley into a crouch. He couldn't flee. The painful lessons he'd received when doing that were enough to freeze him up. Instead he dropped down, whimpering as he waited to be hit for hurting whatever the corpse had been in the past. He hadn't meant it. He hadn't done it. Would they kill him for it?

Did you have anyone in mind? If it is just the mentioning of calling someone then it can be NPCed or just act as if no one was in the area to hear and show up.

It had been much easier than he had imagined that it would be to get the other male to worry and stress over the accusation. He really hadn't expected for the other to actually become so contrite and submissive for an act that the other knew he hadn't committed. Honestly Zadkiel had expected there to be anger at being pinned with the blame but it clearly hadn't worked out in such a way. Still he was willing to accept this reaction. The blonde male could work with this and play on it a bit more. There was nothing like the scent of fear after all.

He finished out his howl and looked back to the male once again. "You aren't going to get away with this." The words were repeated once again as Zadkiel focused on the other that had taken to whimpering. "You will pay for your crime. There is no way that you possibly could think that you would get away with doing this to someone else. What are you doing? Coming back to enjoy the devastation that you caused, you sick freak?" Zadkiel had started to pace as he continued to speak, showing himself to have grown to be overly emotional.

He shook his head as he glanced back to Hadley once again. He paused in his pacing in order to near the other male so that he could look upon him and try to stare into the other's eyes."Why did you do it? Tell my why you did it. What did she ever do to you to deserve this?" Zadkiel was trying to work the other up as much as he possibly could. "Why do you deserve to leave here whole when you have stolen such an innocent life? How can you possibly think to even live with yourself?"

Bria asked me to jump in Big Grin

It was Sebastian's business to be alert of absolutely everything that happened to Hadley. Well, not quite everything, but everything out of the ordinary. He was still immensely protective of the huge hybrid, and though he did not often follow Hadley anywhere, he had chosen to do so today. Well, not exactly follow- he had been planning to assess if there were any trees with suitable wood for bows in the peninsula, and had reasoned that whenever Hadley travelled, it was often to do with his work.

Therefore, an hour or two after Hadley left, Sebastian began his hunt. He still needed to work on his tracking skills, after all. He had left his satchel behind, bringing only his daggers, his bow and his quiver of arrows.

Tracking Hadley was not a very difficult task. He made no effort to hide where he was going, nor was he attempting to hide his distinctive musk. With those two clues, the Italian followed the enormous male with ease. It was rather dull, but the added excitement of leaping behind a tree every time Hadley turned around had been rather amusing.

This amusement was swiftly shattered when he heard the howl.

Sebastian sprinted to the source, an arrow nocked to his black bow. The howl wasn't Hadley's- perhaps Hadley had startled someone? The Italian leaped in front of the much taller male, keeping Hadley behind him as he levelled an arrow at the yellow man in front of him. The scent of death filled his nostrils as his pupils dilated, keeping the arrow trained on the stranger's heart.

"You- shut your mouth, do not speak until Hadley is finished," he snapped, his fur prickled upwards as he shot a glare at the golden man. Rude, perhaps, but Sebastian had little patience. He wanted to find out what the problem was as soon as possible, and he was certain that the problem wasn't Hadley.

"Hadley- what happened here?" he asked, keeping his arrow steady on the yellow man's heart.

not quite expected, but can roll with it

Didn't do it... His words were practically mumbled as the vicious creature continued to pace above him. Hadley was going to pay now. He didn't know when the punishment would start, but he was sure it wouldn't be long before it did. She...she... What was he supposed to say? Not enjoy... The accusations flung forwards and clung to his frame, acting as weights that held him down. The whines began to die down as he headed for the place in his mind where he hid when the pain began to strike him.

A sudden flash of red came forwards, darting to stand between Hadley and his accuser. The hybrid barely glanced up, seeing the coat of red. It was enough to keep him from completely fading, though he was riding pretty close to the edge. Asked what happened Hadley blinked, his eyes shifting to the body. It's dead. Getting sense out of him was going to be difficult. Didn't enjoy... He trailed off muttering to himself and repeating that he didn't do it, not wanting to get punished for something that wasn't his fault.
