WC: 239 OOC: DATED FOR: Sept 19th!! Let Ulilohi post first, no posting order either! Smile Let's make sure the wind and rain doesn't hurt their sanctuary!!!

The winds were terrible, for Saqui at least. It just came right up on them out of nowhere and the hard wind and rain told them they should have already been ready. She knew this was not the worst to come. No it was only just the beginning and she was scared something more would come. She could sense something bad was going to happen and was at ends. Her new home was in danger, and she rushed to see what was going to happen. The town seemed almost empty, it was scary for her and she wasn’t sure how to take it, never before had she been in such high winds in her life.

She found herself by the town hall not sure what to do. She knew Ulilohi lived there and she would know what this bad feeling was and what they should do about it, because it was a feeling that the town would be devastated, and perhaps much of the pack lands and it scared her. She rushed in not in a panic, but still in a hurry; “Councilwoman, Ulilohi!” She said, a high just in case the woman was further from the door. She breathed. She didn’t run but she almost felt as if she had, her heart was racing. She normally wasn’t afraid of storms, wind and definitely not rain, but something about this made her hair stand up.

PP'ing that she's already spoken with Claudius and Io about how to prepare themselves, PM me you guys, if it isn't okay? <3
Ulilohi is kind of useless, so she calls for Simcha to come help them board it all up!
Anyone posting are free to pp that Simcha arrives.

Ulilohi had been pacing a little, conflicted. The Town Hall groaned under the winds, which continued to pick up. Not so heavily that she was worried about structural damage for the moment. It was more the darkness on the horizon that troubled her. Atisia had nodded gravely when she had spoken to him earlier, expressing her concern; the weather did not look as if it was getting any better. Never before had she experienced such a fierce wind without being able to see its exit sometime in the future. She had already spoken with Claudius and Io, and was reassured that they had some kind of a plan for the tribe. Her conflict was focused on this building, however. If the winds were this strong and had no end... they needed to secure it, and well. Winds had already torn down items from the shelves around the walls, and her own mane swirled in the air as she stood near one of the windows, thinking.

The sheer howl of everything around the Town Hall nearly drowned the voice that shouted for her outside, but Atisia reacted, and then so did Ulilohi, realizing that the sound had not been imagined. Exiting, she found Saqui outside. She shouted in response, clutching her braided mane to keep it out of her own face. It felt like just seconds passed before she had just taken a dip in the river, so hard did the droplets fall. The Town Hall groaned loudly once again, and Ulilohi gasped and watched as the winds seemed to take hold of the roof for a moment, threatening to lift it. Open windows would not serve it well, and what if the winds increased? She feared they might. "We need to board the openings!" She shouted at Saqui over the rains. Problem was, Ulilohi had no idea how to do this effectively. Who knew when this would get worse? Taking a deep breath, she put her stomach into it and howled for their most trusted craftsman outside Claudius, praying that he'd hear it. She turned to Saqui again, speaking as loudly as she could and waving at her to follow the cuoncilwoman. "We'll wait for him inside." The Town Hall had always had open windows, but it was still less windy in there than out here. And less wet.

WC: 300 OOC:

Saqui saw the woman, and the wind seemed to increase as she exited the building. Saqui found that her heart could stop at a time like this as she saw that the hall must have nearly been lifted off the ground. It scared her so much she wanted to hide in a hole, but even those were unsafe Ulilohi spoke of boarding up the windows and Saqui nodded looking around, but instead of showing her what to do the older woman howled for a craftsman to come, Saqui thought it was almost for Claudius but then heard the note was for someone else.

It wasn’t long before he came, this man she had never met, and he was holding onto multiple hammers and many nails, with Gemma along side him, being helped by the man. “Came as soon as I could, need planks to cover these windows, I was already on my way when you called.” He said as he got closer to the leader and Saqui moved closer so she could hear. “There are some planks out back, go get them.” He insisted to Saqui, who obliged She did not know what planks were, but soon found out when she saw the strips of wood leaning and rattly, some had already fallen from the winds, she grabbed as many as she could and hurried back to where the other two stood, she made a few trips before turning to the man for more instruction. He spoke again about the shelves on the walls that could help too. There were many windows that needed blocking and Saqui nodded, feeling bad for taking apart perfectly good things, but she had a feeling this would be their refuge during this terrible storm She went inside herself to grab the flat shelvings he was telling her about.

Here is Gemma

The clouds on the horizon seemed to Gemma like the whole underworld had come alive in the distance, the dead reawakened to prey upon the living. The white female shook from head to toe but she did not divert from her course. The winds howled around her, screaming in her ears and her young children were whimpering behind her. They had never seen anything like this before and neither had she, it was absolutely terrifying. But she held strong, her tribe needed every last hand it could get to help. But the winds rushed at her and turned her around confusing her sense of direction until she was unsure if she was looking at the way she had come or the way she had gone.

Her saving grace came in the form of Ulilohi's howl, the Councilwoman's voice helped show her the direction she was heading for and Gemma almost cried from the relief she felt. But the winds were fierce and they picked up around her. It was difficult for herself to walk straight but impossible for her children to do so. Nate-River began to stagger sideways, caught by the gale and Gemma lunged to catch him before he was thrown away from her. But she couldn't carry both of them they were too big, forced to her knees the pale woman tried to hide them from the wind, to protect them as best she could. Then a voice roared besides her to hand over one of them, she looked up to only just see a blue eyed grey wolf standing over her. She recognised Simcha from seeing him about although had never personally spoke to him.

Without waiting for her to respond he gathered up Payne in his strong arm and with his free hand grabbed hold of Gemma's hand and pulled her along with him, bracing against the gusts. The four of them burst into the town hall breathing heavily and Payne wriggled free of the craftsman's arms, shivering at her mother's feet. Gemma herself was wild eyed and shaking and was only able to whisper a thank yopu to him which he nodded at with a strained smile. Seconds after that Light staggered into the town hall and enveloped her and the children in a hug "I saw you but you were too far to reach in time." She held him close and took a few more seconds to herself to calm her breathing before also facing Ulilohi and another smaller girl that she did not know, "We're here to help, we came as quickly as we could."

Una and I both fail. x_____x;

Animal instincts overpowered the rangy male, forcing him into fits of jumpiness and impending fear as the rains started and the wind first kicked in. He knew deep in his gut that something was wrong, and so he spent a lot of his time pacing, both on four legs and two. Talking to Udanvti yielded nothing more than a grim silence in answer, but the doe was consistently with him recently, and he didn’t know whether to be comforted by her presence or worried. It was nice to have her near, but recently the spirit guide had just left him to his own devices so that he could grow as an individual without constantly turning to her for help. That she wasn’t letting him out of her sight, and yet not answering his questions, did not bode very well.

His little hut groaned with the constant winds, but surprisingly enough it remained grounded. The placement of his home kept it guarded by some of the winds, and it seemed to be one of the newer, more sturdily built huts. He didn’t want to take his chances, though, and so he walked outside once it started creaking a little more forebodingly, Udanvti already waiting at the exit and looking in the direction of the town hall.

“Come,” the doe ordered, and he jumped and twitched before complying.

“Is that Simcha?” Unatsi murmured when he saw a grey wolf hanging outside around the village, seconds before a howl summoned the craftsman. He jumped again before following the man, knowing that if the Councilwoman wanted one helper she might need more. The reason for the help became obvious enough, too, when they reached the groaning Town Hall and saw others busy at work grabbing planks and tools once inside.

“Uhhh—same for me?” Unatsi said by way of announcing his presence and offering his hand at—well, whatever they were doing. He swallowed before noticing the pair of children, ones that belonged to the snowy firekeeper he didn’t know well, and then he crouched down to the level of the little trembling girl with an encouraging smile. He wasn’t good with tools, but maybe he could distract the little tyke from the storm.

Posting order is free, right? ;D I'm just posting randomly! "This talking is Ulilohi" and "This talking is Simcha."

Simcha was not the only one to respond to her call -- soon, Gemma and her children were there, as was Unatsi, too. Ulilohi nodded as the craftsman ordered Saqui to fetch planks, and she exited again to assist, all the while ushering Gemma inside. She commented as she passed the pale female. "Get the kids inside." They would be of no use when it came to boarding up the place anyway. Best to have them safe and not as drenched as the outside. Turning to Simcha, she shouted over the noise of both wind and their confused members. "Simcha, I will leave it to you to tell us what to do." She paused, then did the opposite and gave herself an order, turning to the others asking one of them to assist her. "I will go and secure the canoes, and I will need another to help me.". There was something like eight canoes usually stacked up against the Town Hall wall. Being hollow trees, she feared the wind could easily pick them up and damage a structure or seriously injure someone. That, and they were difficult to build and she would rather not lose any of them. With a gesture of the arm, asking whoever it was that would volunteer to follow her, she strode off to behind the building, hoping to find some of them there. They could bring them inside the Town Hall instead. They could perhaps even be used to secure the roof from the inside.

Simcha started giving orders, but he did not know everyone's names. He looked from one to the other of those present and gave them tasks. "One of you need to save some of the firewood from outside -- we will need it. The others, grab a hammer and start nailing." He turned immediately and headed for one of the windows, all action and less talk. If anybody didn't know what hammering and nailing was, they soon found out by his example, as he quickly started his work, leaving three spare hammers on the ground for anyone to pick up and use.

Because I need Una post counts. >__>;

Unatsikanogeni managed to murmur comforting Cherokee words to the child, though he did not know if she would understand any of them. Hopefully, since she was Tribe-born, she would grow up immersed within the culture and language as those from the Great Tribe had been. He was only doing his part; at least until he had another part someone wanted him to do as he waited for some sort of instruction. Following orders was one of the few things he was good at, and he kept a large ear tuned to any sort of command, whether a direct order from authority or a fellow Tribesman’s demand veiled as a kindly suggestion.

The Councilwoman brought up the issue of the canoes, and Una quickly straightened. “Ayv wili alisdelvdi, Anasgayv.” He noted her gesture and followed after her, his ears laid back with a hint of discomfort, especially as they stepped out into the full wind and rain. He stifled a whimper as rain splattered in his face and instead ran over to the canoes, where he reached up to steady one with his hands and looked to Ulilohi for further instruction as to where they’d move the hollow things.

WC: 236 OOC: I am so very sorry for the delay! Hopefully that won't be a problem from now on <3

Saqui was able to get the wood out and as she came out with the extra from inside she saw that Unatsi had joined them, but was soon following Ulilohi out to secure their canoes. She turned to Simcha and shrugged then hurried to where they stacked their firewood and began bringing those in.

It was hard work, the logs were heavy and were now already damp from the pouring rain, but she knew they would soon dry especially near the fire that was already lit. She went back and forth to bring the wood inside, figuring they would need some for many days if this storm didn’t let up. She worked ferociously and without hesitation, and soon got enough inside the town hall that they would be comfortable for many days. Simcha had helped her with that seeing it was important to see dry wood for their fires before he began boarding up the wood. Saqui came to help him after she finished her last ones, Him instructing her to hold the boards up while he hammered. She did so without hesitation, her fur now soaked to the bone and the chill of the winds blasting against her, she wasn’t about to let it get the best of her. She stood strong as she went board by board filling up the gaps in the first window. Sadly there were many more to go.

PPing Unatsi with permission from Raze. Hey; he bonks his head!
"This talking is Ulilohi" and "This talking is Unatsi."

She left there immediately, not waiting to see who followed her. She assumed someone would automatically rise to the occasion and she was right; not long after, a voice spoke in flowing AniWayan behind her, one she recognized as Unatsi. She turned her head slightly and nodded to him to simply let him know she had heard him. Winds were making a lot of noise now, and she did not want to spend her voice shouting where shouting was not needed.

As she had suspected, the canoes needed saving. They were usually stacked up against the wall, often semi-fastened by a rope that simply pushed them against the wall so they could maintain their upright position. Three canoes had fallen and lay scattered, two more were shaking and threatening to fall. Their construction allowed for the winds to grab them and lift them with relative ease. Ulilohi was not as much worried about the ones laying down as she was about the ones standing up still; they could fall more easily, or catch on the winds and move to hurt someone. The councilwoman raised an arm and signalled Unatsi to follow her over to one of them, and he followed without speaking. Still, the noise around them created an atmosphere not made for conversation.

They continued conversing without words, and it seemed to Ulilohi that Unatsi quite easily picked up on her intention as she walked over to one of the canoes that were standing up and put her hands on it as if she were to lift it. The canoes were carved out of single tree trunks, and quite heavy. He mirrored her position and prepared for the lift with her. However, it was less heavy than she had anticipated, and as she lifted,t he tip of it tilted heavily in Unatsi's direction. Her height didn't really help yo lessen the problem, and the canoe nudged him with an audible "thud" as it hit him over the head. She gave a loud exclamation and he gave one as well as they both dropped the canoe. The male dumped down on the ground, and the canoe followed, landing on the ground only inches from him. "Aaah, are you okay?!" Ulilohi exclaimed, realising how close Unatsi had come to serious injury. That, and the obvious pain he would have from the knock on his head. He shook his head as she watched, eventually looking rather sheepish. How fortunate that all of this would happen where the rest could not see them. "I'm okay, I think," he said, as he took her extended hand and got back up, rubbing his head as he was standing. Awkward silence followed.
