Skye looked at her garden in desolation - it had been completely uprooted, and none of her precious plants were left save for only a few. She knelt on the ground, lifting one of the tattered leaves delicately with a finger - when let go, it drooped again, and Skye sighed.

The town was not in much better shape, although she was grateful for the stranded travellers who had shown up and had helped her pack with rebuilding. They would need it.. more than just a few houses had been demolished, and some of them were owned by members. Taliesin, Hotaru.. people who did not deserve anything bad to happen to them.

She looked to the sky, worry in her heart; her son and his new mate had left the pack just before the storm hit. They were out there, somewhere, perhaps hurt.. what if a tree had fallen on them? Now that the immediate danger was over, Skye worried more than ever of what happened to her child and his love. Once, she had promised to him when he was just a little pup that no harm would come to him.. she desperately hoped now more than anything that that promise would not be broken.

There were many emotions roiling around inside Keldava’s brain but chief among them was shame. The hurricane had been devastating for Arte – the damaged buildings around her showed that clearly – but she hadn’t been there, she had abandoned her home in a fit of childish anger.

True there was little she could have done, especially with her hand impeding any heavy lifting, but that didn’t stop the shae she felt. She was a sentinel, she was supposed to protect the pack and even if she could hardly fight off or scare off a hurricane there had to have been something that she could have done.

Keldava didn’t carry any weapons with her as she slunk dejectedly through Thornsbury nor did she have the air of someone who was confident in their territory and belonged; she wasn’t sure if she had the right anymore. The only thing adorning her body was the white bandage wrapped tightly around her shoulder. The wound to her shoulder was still raw and was actually bleeding more now, but since Myr had messed about back there with a knife and rubbed some ointment on it, it had lost the sickly sweet, deathly smell that had been about it which made her more than happy to put up with the pain and having to change her bandages fairly often.

Keldava’s pace was slow so as to not jar her shoulder and so she had been walking around for nearly half an hour by the time she caught sight of the person she had been looking for. She could have found her alpha in less than a minute by scent if she had really tried but part of Keldava had been dreading the meeting. Keldava hadn’t really seen anyone except her mother and Myr since returning, she had been too scared of encountering Skye to venture out much.

With so many people she looked up to and respected turning on her recently Keldava had become somewhat fragile in regards to those she looked up to and she had taken neither Skye’s anger when she and Rin had fought, nor the rebuke for the same very well. Skye was standing alone in the remains of her garden and looked sad, worried. Keldava was worried; she didn’t want Skye to be in a bad mood before even seeing that the hybrid had slunk back.

Her ears were flat against her head and her shame filled voice had a small hint of fear as she called out. ”Skye?” While her body language was entirely submissive her eyes were sharp, watching Skye for any indication that she might turn violent like Jace or Rin had. It was something she had never thought would happen but then she never thought that two members of her family would attack her, one admittedly minor, either.

She heard a voice as she started in desolation at her poor garden, and turned to the source of the sound. It was Keldava - she seemed small, ashamed, as if she had done some great harm. Skye had heard that she had gone to Halifax when the great storm came, and was relieved that she had been found alright. However.. the reason she had gone to Halifax in the first place was a mystery to the creamy female, although she could have merely gone to collect supplies.

"Keldava! It's good to see that you are alright," she said genuinely. With each passing day, those who had gone from Cercatori d'Arte to trade, or scavenge, or liaise with friends, worried Skye; what if they had been stranded in a foreign pack? A hostile one, perhaps? Skye wished to go out, to find them, but she would not know where to start, and her pack needed her here. It was a horrible decision she had to make, but she could not leave d'Arte now, in its time of need.

Keldava was momentarily taken aback at the happy response to her presence. The girl had come prepared for anger and disappointment and much that she dreaded those responses, at least she had prepared herself for them. Skye’s happiness at her safety, not even a hint of recrimination in her voice, left Keldava dumbfounded for a moment and so she just stared at Skye dumbly for a few moments, trying to sort out her thoughts.

Then the shame rushed back and Keldava’s ears fell again, her eyes dropping to the ground, ”I’m sorry.” she said, her voice clear but quiet and full of shame. ”I wasn’ here, couldn’ help anyone. ‘m sorry.” Keldava didn’t quite understand why Skye wasn’t angry at her, but surely it wouldn’t last. She had abandoned the pack during a time of need, surely there was anger coming once Skye was done being happy that she was alive. Before she might have done something about it but recent events had left her drained and confused so Keldava just stood there, waiting for the punishment she had convinced herself was coming.

Keldava almost seemed.. surprised, when Skye told her that she was glad she was safe. Not too long after, however, her countenance fell once again, her ears folding back and her eyes lowering, not meeting the alpha's. Skye narrowed her eyes slightly, one of her ears cocking back - clearly, Keldava had not simply gone to Halifax for a trading trip - but rather than outright assume, Skye thought it best to hear the truth from Keldava's mouth.

"Why were you in Halifax, Keldava?" she asked; her voice was not harsh nor strict, and still retained the warmness that she felt in the female being safe once more. But she did feel the need to clarify - for what was Keldava feeling her shame? A niggling thought in the back of Skye's mind felt that it may have something to do with Amy, the dog that had scarred the girl, but she pushed it out of her mind. In a hurricane, the dog would not have the time for that, and Keldava did not have the same sense of fear as she once had when speaking of the dog.
