is it alright if we foredate this to the 27-28th? :B dont know what to do with the hurricane so i thought it'd be easier if we skip it. and baaad all over the place post.

Azure eyes regarded the area curiously, not missing any detail of the damage done by the hurricane. It seemed the whole of Vinatta had been largely unscathed compared to the southern most parts of 'Souls, but there was still flooding and fallen trees to contend with. Once it dried up, it might make for some interesting riding if she were careful. A heavy sigh puncuated the chilly afternoon, her breath escaping her like a cloud of smoke exiting a mythical animals maw. The coyote woman pulled her rabbitfur lined cloak closer around her and almost flipped the warm hood up, but decided against it. Max stood behind her patiently, watching her just as intently as she was watching the surroundings. The large white wolf dwarfed her by many inches, and it was sometimes comical for them to be seen together.

The pair had stepped out of their home in Jorheim earlier that morning to look around, leaving Rekyr sleeping quietly. The intention had been hunting, but she figured that could wait a little while longer. It might be more difficult to find a game trail after the mass rains had washed everything away, but there was always hope of a warren full of rabbits nearby. Her stomach growled loudly at that this thought, and she decided to continue on. " Jakten? " Lessa asked, not bothering to hide her accent as she spoke in the old tounge to Max. The quiet monster nodded and moved forwards, now directly beside his oncemaster. " Hjort. " He replied, gesturing to their left. The coywolf smiled evily, then, revealing some of her true nature.

Not particularily caring if someone else saw, she threw off her thick cloak and hung it on a nearby branch. The cloak had enough of her scent on it that if someone should come by, they would leave it alone. The thin woman rolled her shoulders, grimacing as she looked at her tiny waist and saw the faint outline of her ribs. Max noticed too and shook his head at her, reaching forward and giving her an affectionate lick behind the ear. He was her brother in arms, and knew better then anybody else that Alessandra could be your bestfriend or your worst enemy and that she could take care of herself, but being a loner and the hurricane had taken its toll. The once muscular body that was toned and powerful was waning away from lack of food. Ignoring the kind gesture, Lessa started off at a quick jog and pushed all thoughts of her condition away from her. Perceived weakness was just that, perceived.

As she ran the thick utility belt that hung off of her hips moved, and the clink of metal within comforted her. It had been too long since she had used weapons.

So sorry for the wait sweetness. Feel free to kick me into submission. :: 555. 5pts ::

Niernan's back ached, and his paws smelled funny. The hurricane hadn't damaged much in Vinatta, and as Vald it had been one of his jobs to run the territory and find out where the damage was worst. His cerulean eyes missed nothing and he noted the flooding in the outlying houses of Jordheim, the less inhabited ones like Colibri's, but mostly empty ones were the worst affected. Trees had fallen all around the territory, some ancient and weakened by rot or insects, others young and newly grown and not yet strong enough to withstand the ferocious winds. He had a map of the damage in his head and he had lamented to find that the Sacred Grove, where Miskunn and Lilin spent so much time, had been ransacked by the hurricane, a massive tree obliterating half of the altar. He scarpered fairly quickly, not wanting Miskunn to find him there and blame his for the devastation, despite the fact that he had nothing to do with it. He would have to tell Saul about all of the damage. knowing that the Virding would want to know, but then he could also tell his cousin that the majority of the fallen trees were sound and could be used for timber. That would brighten the grey Stormbringers mood, they always needed more lumber for construction and they were loathe to cut down the trees around their home, if they had been naturally felled it was much better.

Thinking along the lines of fallen timber he headed out towards the parklands, hoping to find more trees felled by the wind. He glanced down at his footpaws as he ran, wondering why they hurt so much and smelled so bad, the only conclusion he could come to was that the water, that still sloshed around his toes and ankles, was affecting his paws somehow. He would ask Saul about that as well, knowing and trusting him as a healer. The one thing the dark Stormbringer longed for was to be dry, but it seemed that until all the water cleared and the damage fixed he was destined to be damp. It's not like he hated the wet, he just wanted to feel warmth again for a moment, to curl up with his Grace and the animals, a ball of fur and purring. The wetness had even separated Niernan from his cat, the fussy animal choosing to stay indoors in the warm with Shiloh's new acquaintance, the little tortoise shell kitten captivating the Maine Coon hybrid.

Nier's eyes flicked over to the cloak that hung off a natural peg made by a branch, the rabbit fur lining looking cosy and warm. His eyes narrowed and he snuffled at the cloak briefly, scenting the strong smell of an individual and the faint pine and brine Vinatta scent. The faintness of the packscent told him that the owner of this cloak was a newer member, and the individual smell told him it was one he hadn't met yet. He followed the scent trail left by the stranger, unaware that they could be hunting, his crashing and sloshing very audible. He let out a sharp bark, the sound reverberating in his throat, to announce his presence, hoping that he wouldn't have to search for them. Scent trails were hard to follow in the waterlogged forest.

The tree’s looked like skeletons.

This time of year they should be thick with autumn colors, rustic reds, bright yellows and warm oranges would dominate. However, the hurricane had peeled all but the sturdiest leaves off of the bare branches. It made the theory of hunting easier, seeing as there was more light and the air felt crisper and cleaner - less overload of the senses. However, she was having difficulty find scent trails, so she changed up her technique. Instead of concentrating on grounded scent trails, she began moving from tree to tree to find out the latest direction of deer. Max moved gracefully behind her, following his leader placidly. Time passed by and she began to pass by a tree but then turned to it, plucking a tuft of a buck off of the disturbed bark. Turning back to Max she grinned, then motioned in that direction.

However, it seemed like their hunt was to be interrupted. A sharp bark rang out through the trees, and too her right she heard the startled slosh of water from what was probably their meal. The sloshing quickly moved away from them and she cursed under her breath, looking very annoyed. Her stomach growled and a hunger pain panged through her stomach from being so close. Ignoring the pain she stormed towards the maker of the bark, anger written across her bleached features. Alessandra nearly ran into the darker-hued male that seemed to be following her and stopped in surprise. He had cerulean blue eyes, a shade or two darker than her own icy hued ones, and a brown pointed coat. He seemed to be a tiny bit younger than her, and she moved a slender hand to her forehead, cupping it in frustration of the ruined hunt.

It was obvious that she was underfed, she was very slender for her height and ribs were visable as well as the slight gauntness to her face. The hulking white wolf that stood a good six inches taller then the darker-hued male appeared behind the lady looking non too pleased, but he said nothing save for crossing his arms. “ We were hunting. “ Alessandra sighed, eyes downcast. “ As you can probably tell, it’s not very easy in these conditions. “

Sorry for the wait sweetness. :: 608. 5 pts ::

Nier strolled forward cautiously, eyes scanning the tree line for emerging wolves. He hadn't wanted to wait for them to find him, if they were even coming towards him, so had proceeded with care even though he had warned of his presence. His ears were constantly moving, the waterlogged woodlands were so quiet that every little movement was echoed and magnified to horrendous proportions, the hollow reverberations making him twitchy. So he nearly jumped out of his skin when the shorter, black and white wolf nearly smacked into him. He recoiled in shock and took one or two steps back, so that he was not standing on the female canine. He ran his eyes over her body and noticed that she was severely underweight, her ribs showing through her dark pelt. The other thing he noticed was her markings; they were certainly not natural and must have been the result of bleach or dye or something. He didn't fully understand the dyeing process, only ever having seen Grace retouch her dyed dreads once.

Her handpaw went to her forehead and she seemed to be frustrated, Nier was sure he would find out why soon enough, but for now he was distracted by the monster of a white wolf that appeared behind her. He openly stared at the large male, sure that he had seen these two somewhere before. His mind travelled back over the canine's that he had met in the last few weeks and he only recalled one instance of a large white wolf; outside Sauls house on the night the hurricane hit. Recognition boiled in his deep cerulean eyes for a moment before the female spoke and he noticed the males angry stance. The female's words were short and clipped, weariness evident in her tones. She cast her eyes down and he didn't understand why, maybe she didn't want him seeing her true feelings or maybe it was a canine dominance/submission thing. He didn't encounter much of the latter, being around his family and cats all the time, but he still knew about it and had implemented it a few times.

Nier bent slightly, twisting his body to look into her face, a friendly smile touching his lips. His eyes flicked to the larger male nervously for a second, but he turned his attention back to the female quickly enough. "I apologise for interrupting your hunt. I had no intention of depriving you of food. I was merely curious as to who was out here."He stayed bent down, trying to look into her eyes, but this twisted position was hell on his back and he was sure he looked thoroughly stupid. The big guy stood behind the female was probably enjoying watching Nier make a fool of himself, well, that was the aim of Nier making a fool of himself; to please others. "You know, looking at me is ok. I don't bite..." He paused and looked thoughtful, "Well, I don't bite pack members anyway." His grin broadened so that he was now showing glistening teeth, genuinely happy to be meeting new people.

He held out his handpaw to her, "I'm Niernan Stormbringer, Vald of Vinatta. That makes me basically a scout and hunter, so I can help you out with your hunt if you want? I know three sets of eyes and ears can be more effective than two." He waited for her answer, eyes flicking to the hulking monster wolf stood behind her every few seconds. Those crossed arms and stormy expression were making him nervous. He prayed to Thor that he would get through this unscathed, Grace would be most displeased if he came home injured.
