Oh no, Charlotte's been pulled into the river! Help pull her out and earn a catacomb, too! Hurricane thread = extra points too c:

The loss of her mother had turned her father into a listless, nearly lifeless being. Her father was not seemingly fazed by the raging storm. He refused to leave the bedroom of the Victorian home, spending all of his time there, unwilling to move even to feed himself. If it were not for the red girl, the dog King would waste away, surely. Charlotte knew this, and she suspected the rest of the pack would also see it soon. More than likely, they all knew her father's reign was coming to an end, however it happened. He would die if it were not for those tending to him, and it was this thought that pushed Charlotte outside into the roaring winds and fierce rain.

She clutched the leather canteen in her hand tightly, moving cautiously in the direction of the river. Her father would not feed himself and would not drink on his own, but she would hunt for him, and she would bring him water. She would go to the cellar after getting water, on her way back. It would be easier than carrying food with her. Fleetingly, she thought of how the water must have affected the underground stores, and she fretted she might have to hunt in this. She would, though, for her father.

It was awful trying to walk in this and so she shifted, with great effort and shielding her eyes from the rain by looking down, holding the canteen loosely in her teeth. When she reached the river she would shift again to fill it, but travel was easier this way, in this form. She was lower to the ground and had a better grip on the soaked soil beneath her claws. Grimacing, she prayed this wouldn't take long. She did not feel safe out here, and longed for the warmth of home.

Relief flooded her entire body as she came to the river's edge, though she wished she had found somewhere less deep and less wide. She'd lived in these lands for her entire life and knew the area, but the storm had misdirected her. Still, Lottie wanted to be quick, so she shifted once more and crouched by the water's edge, holding the canteen above the leaping water. Gripping the edge of the bank, she leaned down, stretching to reach the water's surface with the mouth of the canteen.

"Come on," she muttered against the wind, trying to stretch just a little further. She hardly realized that the give she had suddenly was the slipping of the brush she was holding, the entire bank of the river crumbling into the raging waters and taking the slender girl with it. Charlotte shrieked as she was pulled in, the water thrashing her to and fro. She gasped for breath as she surfaced, howling loudly and sharply as soon as she did, knowing she would be pulled back under.

This is super rambly and written in like five minutes, but ehhh... Skoll's gotta save his sister! Except they both might need saved now. +510

The days following his mother’s death had been rough for Skoll, who had gone on an emotional rampage of sorts through the neutral territories, getting into trouble and trying to vent his rage however he could. It had been immature of him, but eventually his emotions had poured out to the point where he thought he might be able to go back home.

Luckily, he’d gotten back to the Court long before the storm clouds began to roll in, but he hadn’t accomplished anything worthwhile during the time of peace. His family seemed to be falling apart—or at least he was falling apart on the inside, watching his once-strong father succumb to the grief that made Skoll moody and unpredictable. His siblings, once overshadowed by his bold personality, were stepping up and leaving him in the dust in a reversal he hadn’t expected. He hadn’t really even been able to handle being at home, with Liam around and Vigilante deep in sadness, and so he’d spent most of his nights outdoors.

When the hurricane reached Cour des Miracles, that had changed. Skoll’d taken shelter in the hotel, trying to help in keeping the residents calm even as he fretted about what might be happening in the old house near Lunenburg. He soothed Terra’s children and babysat them, and did his best to make sure that Niro had everything he needed while the weather was bad.

Rarely did he venture outside in this mess, as it reminded him too much of the churning water he’d fallen into as a child. However, he needed to replenish his own temporary stores for the courtiers living in the hotel, and he was hoping to find a soggy animal killed by the storm so that he didn’t have to stay out too long.

Running through the territory in his massive secui form, Skoll headed in the direction of the river. He knew that the land around the water had grown muddy, and if he was lucky he’d find a creature stranded in it. As he thundered toward the bushes lining the river, though, he heard a shriek and recognized his sister’s chocolate form disappearing under the current with a bloodcurdling howl.

“Lottie!” Skoll screamed, and didn’t stop to think of a plan as he galloped to the river and launched himself in afterward. Immediately, he was sucked under and began to panic, remembering the ocean waves pummeling him when he was a cub—but he remembered saving Heiro, too, like he needed to save his sister, because no matter what else she was family. He broke the surface of the water to draw in breath before letting the current carry him, guiding himself with little flicks of his massive paws before he thought he saw her, at which point he lunged to grab one of her arms gently but firmly in his jaws. What he’d do once he had hold of her, he hadn’t planned—but at least he’d be there, holding onto her, and maybe God would show them a way out.

Word Count :: 548 excuse Barty, He's just gonna save you now Big Grin

The wind was horrible.Brutal, but it got his adrenaline going. What better a day than to try and surf the waves? the Cali boy spoke to himself. The best thing about Mars' stupid pack was that it was on a beach, and after awhile, Bartholomew, as the born and raised Cali-guy himself was, knew his way to the water. He fished a few times, but never in the storms, nah. This was different though, and he felt like he was supposed to do this. Go out and halala his way through the storm. Bert felt the need to be random, and possibly destructive. Okay, with the way things were looking outside right now, it didn't look like that he would be the one doing the destruction. It was strange that his family had not kept an eye on him. Perhaps they still thought that he was Mars, who would be quivering in a corner because of all of the wind and rain. Bart put on his white jacket, otter skirt, and he walked silently from the door of Mars' home in Lunenburg.

He had to dodge a few trees here and there on the way though. One would ask, what madman would come out in such a storm? Bartholomew Cubbins would, dear sir. He grabbed himself a walking stick early on and it was easy to find one, since the wind had carried many branches to the ground by now. It was larger than he was when he picked it up, but he snapped the smaller parts of the branch until it was a good walking height for him. It helped him move on the softening Earth as he seemed to be getting closer to a body of water. His stick started to sink into the Earth more when as he got closer and closer.

He then heard a distressed cry, a sharp howl that made his ears shoot up and his icy blue eyes look around panicked. The fuck?! exclaimed the male before he heard splashing, and someone screaming someone else's name. Over the running river and the howling wind he had to make sure he wasn't hearing things, so he ran towards the river and just north of him, in the water there were two wolves. Bart had dinner-plate eyes before he realized that there was no one else to really save the two. One was in their secui, the other in their Optime. Bart scanned the bank for anything he could get on without falling in himself.

Just down the river a bit there were trees that were already knocked over, and they draped over the river, just far enough down for their path to where if he could knock it down further, they'd have something to grab onto. Bart took off towards the tree and he beat them to it, but not by much. He hurried onto the limb. HEY! GRAB ONTO THIS! he spoke as he broke the rest of the tree by jumping on it a bit, but making sure he would not fall into the water himself. He then offered out his hand to try and grab onto either one of them to help them onto the branch so they could climb to safety.

yay rescue teamwork! Big Grin hope the pp is okay Raze? just water moving them, heh.

The water rushed over her head and she sputtered, a fruitless effort to keep her airways clear of water. It had been a stupid idea to come out in this storm to begin with, but to have done it alone like she had did not help matters at all. If there had been someone with her, she would have never fallen into this river—stupid! If she ever made it out of this river, she would never be so stupid again.

Gasping, she felt teeth close around her upper arm and she instinctively reached out with her other hand, clutching desperately at the golden fur she recognized as her brother's. She snaked her arm around his neck, holding herself to him tightly, worried that if she did not then she would be pulled away by the water again. The water tossed the pair of siblings, but Charlotte heard the other voice over the storm very faintly.

She fought to keep her seafoam eyes open until she could see the bicolored male on the fallen tree. Letting go of her brother's ruff was not an option for her, but as they tumbled in the deepening river, she pushed up against the turmoil, hoping that the trees would catch their torsos and that Mars would be able to pull them up.

Some minor pp back -- and feel free to have them drag Skoll out together so we don't have to waste another post, hehe. <3

The water was freezing, and while it did not have the roaring, sluggish might of the ocean it was hard and fast. It was all he could do to close his eyes and let the river draw both of them along, his mouth clamped around his sister’s arm as he felt her fingers curl into the gold scruff of his neck.

Over the sound of his own desperate, hissing breaths and the howl of the storm Skoll thought he could hear a shout. The words themselves were whipped away by the wind and further obscured when water splashed around his ears, but he managed to crane his neck carefully in the direction of the call and squint. It was the patched dog male from the meeting, but that didn’t matter—what mattered was the fallen tree jutting out in the river.

Charlotte shifted slightly, and the young man gave a little tug of her arm to steer her toward the branches more directly. His hind paws kicked out, his curled tail caught by the current, and he managed to push her against the trunk, one large paw reaching out and his claws digging into the bark as he waited for Lottie to grab hold until the Serf could reach them.

ooc: Sorry about the wait there. And also, pp of both of you to have Bart try to get them out of the water.

Bart watched the two barrel towards him, the rushing water pushing them against the end of the tree. Bart had to crawl out a little bit further to get to them, but the male quickly closed the distance between himself and the two. He grew nervous of the stability of the branches that they were shoved against, but Bart trusted that they would be okay if he managed the weight on them well enough. Bart reached out towards the chocolate pelted girl that looked so much different than her brother (in fact, he couldn't tell if they were related or not) but it was not like this mattered much to Bartholomew, for he cared little for the pack members' relations. He didn't know what families were dominant in the Court, nor did he really care all that much. Hell, Bartholomew didn't even know that he Mars wasn't that high of a rank. Bart reached, but he was still too far from them. Come on, come onnnn. growled the male as he inched forward some more. His curled tail twitched and he paddled the water a little bit with his hand as he tried to grab them. The water pushed them slightly closer to him, and he grabbed onto the chocolate female.

The moment his hand was able to grab her shoulder, he pulled them towards him. The current of the water was strong, and he couldn't pull them both up at one time (the male was particularly heavier than the female). Hey you! Let go, and grab onto that branch! I need to get ya' up one at uh time! spoke the male to the golden secui male. There was a branch close to Skoll that jutted out of the water, and it looked strong enough to Bart for him to trust that the male would be able to hold onto it while he pulled Charlotte out of the water. He started to grow scared for these two luperci though, because the Californian knew that the rivers could be brutal, sometimes even more brutal than the waves of the ocean.

Hurry! the Serf spoke to the male, for once the golden male let go, he'd be able to bring up the chocolate female. He had both of his hands under the shoulders of the female, and once he had the relief of some of the weight, he'd be able to pull her up, and then work on getting Skoll out of the water.
