Adrian sighed in relief as the scent that could only be New Dawn assaulted his nose. They had finally reached the northern pack's border. They had made good time and Adrian was happy with their fast progress. As he stepped down of the caravan, he walked up to the two horses who had done most of the work and pet them. He made sure they had some new food and water, as a reward for their hard work. Once that was taken care of Adrian steadied himself and put his muzzle to the sky. He let the howl slip out of his muzzle and fill the air around him. He let the howl die off before howling just once more. When he finished that one he did the only thing left to him. He waited.

While he waited, Adrian thought over their trip. It had been a good idea to bring guards. Some loners, desperate and hungry had tried to attack the caravan hoping to gain food from the caravan. The guards had helped hold them at bay and eventually drive them off. Adrian had tried to ignore that part. He didn't like the violence of it all but he knew it was necessary. Adrian had shook his head, wondering why everyone had to resort to violence. Adrian again shook his head and decided to go check on the supplies while he was waiting, to get his mind off of morbid things.

Her services had been required. Adelle had fought hard against those that had attacked the caravan, almost ferociously. She would have killed those attacking if they hadn't retreated. Perhaps they had sensed that. Adelle's fiery temper had been turned into a deadly weapon against those that proposed a threat, and she'd struck hard against the bandits. They had made it in one piece though, and the long trip seemed to have done Oplader good. He was better behaved than he was in Casa, though that might just be from exhaustion from being ridden every day for long stretches.

She petted his neck gently as they stood at the border. It looked similar to Casa's, only the scent marking the lines along a stretch of forest. They had a very nice beautiful view. It made her miss Casa somewhat. The deep howl from Adrian brought her closer to the group's leader. He was confident, and Adelle felt that a show of support would be good, even if they were from different packs. Besides, she was proud of the support she'd been able to lend, and was eager to do so again.

The proud wolf patrolled along the edges of the pack. He was the beta now, a role he took very seriously. He already patrolled plenty, but he'd increased that amount with the new responsibilities he carried. Tharin was already dedicated and ready to do everything he could for the pack. All that was needed was a chance for him to show it. Tharin's remaining ear perked up as a call sliced through the air. What was that? Lifting his head he let out a short booming call before breaking into a lope to the source. The same howl came again through the air, requesting attention. It wouldn't be long before he arrived.

Before Tharin saw them, he could smell them. A mix of two different groups, and horses. It wasn't a very large gathering, thankfully, but he still let out a short call requesting another member of New Dawn to come to greet them with him. He would feel better with someone at his side if it turned to a fight. Tharin slowed to a trot, his posture proud as he looked over those gathered. The leader was clearly the one that had called, standing at the front of the horses. You've come to New Dawn's borders. What do you seek?

Adrian smiled as he saw someone come to greet him and his small party. Adrian dipped his head at the male in a respectful motion before looking him in the eye. "My name is Adrian Kido and I'm from Cercatori d'Arte in the south. Me and my friends here," He gestured towards the caravan and his party with one paw, "Have come to seek your permission to trade with your pack. Our pack is right along the shore and we were hit pretty hard by the storm. Anything you have would be of great use and we have come bringing gifts to trade with." Adrian said, smiling as he explain their purpose. Adrian was hoping to improve the relationship between New Dawn and Cercatori d'Arte a little bit. And it would be useful to get supplies. "I was hoping that your pack would grant us entrance so we can trade with your members. I promise that none of those who have come with me will cause trouble in your pack lands." If they did, Adrian would be powerless to protect them anyways. But he trusted those who had accompanied him not to cause too much trouble.

Adrian glanced over at Adelle and smiled, happy to have the female backing him up. Adrian was confident when it came to leading the group, but that was only because he saw their willingness to listen. The group he had gathered was a good one and he trusted all of them. Adrian himself could not have asked for better company on the long trip, and now they were standing beside him and showing their support, something Adrian was grateful for.

WC: 265 I just figured I'd pop in, too.

Sky had heard the howl, too. However, it was the howl of no one she knew, so she took her dear sweet time getting there- letting someone else deal with whatever loner wanted passage or joining or whatever it was. When she did arrive, settling down in her lupus form, blue eyes looking over the scene before her curiously, she was met with a caravan... a familiar one. The scent of d'Arte crawled up to meet her where she sat and her fur rippled, then stood on end. She glanced around, making sure neither Shawchert nor Cody was there. Both boys seemed busy today, which worked out fine for her. So, carefully, she trotted down to join Tharin, shuffling over beside the Beta and tentitively offering him the best show of submission she could give- a soft brush of shoulder against shoulder and the smallest of whines. She couldn't do more than that, not for him but at least she was trying.

Then, attention turned to the boy with the caravan. It wasn't just d'Arte, either. She could smell Cavalieri on them, too. She'd heard the last bit of what the boy said, explaining that he wanted trade. Sky paused for a moment, considering it. She looked over to Tharin and shook her head slightly. We were hit by the storm pretty badly ourselves. I doubt we have anything to spare. She waited for a real answer from her packmate, though. He was beta, now. He made the decisions like this. Not her.

Gods damn him and every flee on his bitten body.

Tharin listened as Adrian explained that he had come from a pack in the south, one he hadn't heard of before. It must be a rather...lupercized one, from what he could see before him. Probably meant that the horses they had brought were once again not ones that he could eat. He looked over the group, doubting that they had all come to trade. Some of them were definitely warriors by the way they held themselves. He could see that in the strong female that had come to support Adrian. He must be the leader of the group.

Trade? Had this happened before? Tharin thought about it, eyes lighting up as he remembered the storyteller. It had been enjoyable having that one come and visit. This group was larger, so it made Tharin more wary about accepting them. Again he measured the members. Some of them seemed harmless. He nodded his head at the promise, relieved slightly. The leader could be held accountable. If not, they'd just rip them to shreds, proof that New Dawn wasn't a pack to muck with.

A low growl slipped from him at Sky's words. The female was struggling with showing respect, and Tharin knew it. That didn't extend to making the guests unwelcome. We didn't have anything to lose from the storm. We don't have items for two leggers in this pack beyond what our medics carry. Pausing he looked over the members, and straightened up. However, your presence would be welcome. We could hunt for your group in exchange for tales you could provide. He hoped they had good tales to share.

Adelle watched the large male come down. She was bigger than him, and he stuck to four legs. If she remembered right, that was the custom of this pack. Perhaps she should shift down to secui form for the stay. It was her favorite. What would be done with the horses she wasn't too sure. Perhaps she could just hobble Oplader and let him roam through to graze. Adrian's words were well spoken, presenting their group well. Adelle certainly wasn't planning on causing trouble. She was just there to protect them, and she doubted they would be in danger while here at this pack.

Another member of the pack slipped up while they were speaking. Adelle stared at her curiously, noting how tense she was. Their group must make her uneasy. Perhaps she was carrying pups. The male overrode her though, announcing that the group would be welcome. Giddily she tugged on Oplader's reins and crossed the border. She almost strugged there, feeling the weight of what she was doing before she moved past it, scanning the land for any possible threats out of habit. Things were going smoothly.

Adrian watched as another member of the northern pack arrived. But even with her arrival Adrian could tell that the male was still the one in charge by the way the female brushed against him and the small whine. Adrian listened as the female spoke, her words deterring his hopes. His ears dropped and a small frowned appeared on his face. Adrian would be destroyed if he had come all this way for nothing, gathering his small party only to have them return empty handed. He looked to the male for conformation, wanting to hear it from him before Adrian gave up complete hope. When the male opened his mouth to speak Adrian feared the worst, but the male didn't exactly agree with the female. He agreed that they wouldn't have much for luperci's, but they would hunt for them. That would always be beneficial. But they wanted stories in return? Adrian wasn't sure what that meant, but he was sure it could be arranged. Adrian was good at singing and story telling, and he was sure he could accommodate their demands.

"I believe that is a reasonable agreement. What exactly do you mean by tales?" He asked, cocking his head. Adrian could come up with something. He glanced at the female again, wondering what the reason behind her apparent dislike for them was. Maybe she just didn't trust outsiders. Adrian hoped that the rest of the pack wouldn't feel the same, because if so this trip could turn out to be unpleasant and tense, the exact opposite of what Adrian had been hoping for. "Would you like for me and my party here to camp outside your pack borders?" Adrian asked, letting them decide where the party would stay, since it was their land. Adrian hoped that he was representing the group well.
