Since Lena had left, Sky hadn't been as socially kind as she'd once been. She was proud of her girl for finding her own path but the thought of being away from her only living daughter... when she'd heard nothing of Liam! Her baby could be in danger! She sat in the net hammock Shawchert had made for her, a thick pelt padding it so it wouldn't be uncomfortable. He'd presented it to her upon discovering that it'd been safe during the storm, tucked away in a chest that had been thrown a few yards into the woods from the wind. It, along with one for himself, had been hung up once the important work on the Clinic had been finished. She wouldn't sleep here often, but for now, it worked as a way to recover from not only her worries...

...but her season. She trusted Shawchert to behave. He'd dealt with it all before when they'd shared their house in Thornbury. Now, a day into it, she'd tucked herself into her worries and woes, as a distraction from the effects. As he usually did, Shawchert had made himself relatively scarce, staying downstairs and burying himself in working on the finishing touches- putting in a window where a board covered a hole downstairs, from what she could tell by the sounds of it.

The day drew on and as it did, she became less and less focused on her thoughts. Eventually, lounging in the hammock just wasn't doing it for her anymore. So, she stood, stretched and headed downstairs to see what Shaw was up to. What she'd find down there would be quite the surprise. As she came to the bottom landing and turned, she gasped.

There he was, sitting at the crafted table, a full meal set up out of no where. A candle sat in the center and where he sat, he sat well groomed and clean, a smile on his face. She walked over to him without a word and looked the table over curiously. The meat was fresh and cooked, seasoned and sliced almost perfectly. A side of blackberries added to the meal, with wine to drink. She smirked. "Not very wolf like, y'know. Drinking wine and eating steak." She looked over to him and his smile became sarcastic. He motioned for her to sit and she did, happily surprised by it all.

And then, they shared their first quiet dinner together since their peaceful time in d'Arte. No need for words, as one-sided as they'd be. Every now and then, Sky would laugh or Shawchert would wriggle in amusement but otherwise, the peace of silence enveloped the entire clinic. Their troubles seemed to wash away as their bellies became full. Sky sipped down the last dribbles of the wine and grinned with satisfaction.

As she stood, so did he. In a bold move, Shawchert swept in without much warning and pulled her close. She didn't protest. He bent and pushed his nose into the crook of her neck and she all but purred, leaning into him. It didn't take long for them to move back upstairs and to one of the beds there. By the time they'd fall back down to earth, the sun would be risen again. It had been so long and so dreadful since they'd shared moments together like this and now, it never seemed to end.

Come morning, they'd go back to their regular routines a little happier, a little less stressed. A little sore, maybe. And by the time Sky woke up, Dawn had come and past. For the very first time since joining the pack, she slept in, assured of her safety and peace there without the need to watch the sun rise up. Finally, she was home.
