This is my escape

It had been a relief to get out of that farmhouse. He had been stuck in there for days with those people. Abella.. and what was that weird hyena called? Shylome. He couldn’t stand her from the moment she passed into their threshold, and then he had to put up with her until the storm was over. As soon as the sun came out, which was just a few hours ago, Tyko made his way toward the door. He tried his hardest to move the table and get passed Deo and everyone else without waking anyone up. He needed a good hunt to just… let off some steam.

As soon as he got passed the collapsed table and broken door, he was home free. He quickly shifted down to his Secui form and began making his way toward the more northern part of Drifter Bay. On his way up, he caught a nice whiff of some elk probably grazing nearby, and made sure to keep his scent downwind. His large, swift body covered ground quickly and with every mile the scent of food became stronger.

He quickly made it to the pasture where the deer were grazing and made his way toward a sickly looking elk off to the side. By now, as the others noticed him coming in for the hunt, they began running away and Tyko got to really see just how hurt this one was. The hoofed brute could barely make his way around Tyko and didn’t get enough speed to catch anywhere near to the others before Tyko was on him. He bit at his wounds which made the elk cry out, but Tyko was persistent. The black wolf leapt and sank his powerful jaws into the creature’s throat and easily snapped the weak bones there. The prey item fell heavily on the ground and a warm puddle of blood began to surround its body.

Smirking, Tyko made no hesitation to dig in to his breakfast. He tore into the side of the animal taking what meat he could off, swallowing the good organs and letting the warm blood quench his thirst. The big brute had no worries of who was around him, and was sure he would catch a scent of whoever desired to come and inspect what he was doing, even with his head buried in the chest cavity of a large prey animal.

Keshi moved with a lively pace over the unfamiliar terrain, though with undoubtedly added caution. The hurricane had messed with his mind and still he peered at the sky with added terror. He huffed as he trotted along, Odessa sitting upon his back securely. She was out to find herbs, anything she could get her claws on. Salsola was in desperate need and she was determined to do all she could to help. Especially as Ankh was older now, weaned too, it was much easier to leave him at home. And even if Imhotep and her were both out, Novak was there. Also, if he needed to go out, Ankh was also old enough to go out with him. And almost old enough to venture around the territory on his own.

Pulling back on the reins, Keshi stopped, lifting his fore hoofs up off the ground an inch or so. Calming down, he looked towards Odessa who gave him a gentle pat of reassurance before she slipped off of his back to collect the herbs that grew a few metres away. Slipping her knife out she bundled them into her satchel carefully.

Tyko continued to ignore all else as he ate, but there was one smell that he couldn’t keep his mind off of. There was a female close by, and she wasn’t interested in what he was doing. He lifted his bloody head out of the creature and looked around. He didn’t see anything, but felt compelled to follow the scent… So, after licking what blood he could off of his face, he did.

He ran for a mile or so toward the forest, but the lighter side of the trees where there were more bushes and shrubs than taller trees. The black hunter silently waded through the bushes and trees and made his way toward this mysterious female. She seemed to be well-hidden in there. Somewhere. Tyko stopped and sniffed the air here and there, and prowled closer to the female. Soon, he could see her some ten feet away – close enough to scare her and far enough to keep his distance.

She seemed to be picking berries of some sort, and the sight of her knife kept Tyko at bay – not that he had any desire to hurt her. He just didn’t exactly want to get hurt, himself. He went around her, still managing to keep that ten foot sprawl between them. He stalked now to the side of her rather than facing her head on, and he snorted. There was blood in his nose, but he managed to blow it out. He raised a paw to rub his face, getting all the excess liquids off before confronting the female.

”Hey there.” He would offer her some of his kill, if she wanted it. Abella could hunt for herself later, and the hyena, well, she could do the same. She had to have survived on something up to this point.
