It came out of nowhere. The pain hit her like a ton of bricks, routing deep throughout her entire body and causing a long whine to shutter from her jaws. Fayne immediately knew what was going on, but that didn't stop her from becoming panicked. She was in her den, ready and prepared for what was about to happen. Her breath became labored, heart rate increasing as she quickly poked her head out of her birthing den to call for someone to come. Noah! Noah! They're coming! Another wave of pain immobilized her as she crawled back in, forcing her to curl tightly as she withstood it. It was much worse then she'd thought it would be and the soon to be mother couldn't help but whine as it washed over her. She was trying to become a midwife, and knew a lot when it came to labor and being pregnant. But, when it had to do with her it was something completely different, much harder to handle. The Gamma tried to calm herself, waiting for the next wave of pain to hit her. Finally, she was going to meet the loves that had been growing inside of her, her first litter. She couldn't help but be happy even through the fear and panic that teased at her.

The third wave hit her as she was fixing her nest, pushing around the towels and other thing she and Tharin had collected. It was stronger, more intense, and longer than the two before. Emerald eyes tightened shut as her body shuttered through the pain, a whine escaping from her maw. Fayne licked her lips, the pain was bad but she was handling it better than she'd expected to. Again, she called out for everyone and anyone to come. This was intimate, but she wanted to share it with her family. The silver fae stopped for a moment and threw her head back, releasing a howl yearning for pack mates to come. She also told of the joy she wished to share. The howl was cut off by another tinge of pain and she yelped, curling into herself as she rode it out. There was still quite a bit of time between each wave, so she knew it wasn't time for her puppies to emerge. But...the time was certainly coming. Fayne continued to fix her nest, pacing around and whining frequently. It was stressful time. She'd never done this before.

The silver woman was laced with a small bit of fear to meet her puppies. After seeing what happened to Palaydrian and Titania, she was frightened there was a chance her own might end up the same way. She was confident they'd be healthy and happy, but she couldn't know until they were curled up beside her. The fear was pushed aside for now though. It was her time to help her puppies come into the world and for now, that was the only thing she could focus on. Another wave washed over her, longer and more intense than the last and again her eyes squeezed shut, body stiffened, and stomach contracted as the pain rushed through her. They were becoming more urgent and with each wave of pain, she became calmer knowing what she needed to do. Hopefully, Noah would show up. He was a healer and it would comfort her to have him by her side if anything were to go wrong. For now, Fayne rode out the waves of pain counting them and focusing on each one. She'd know when it was time for the first puppy to come but until then she would stay calm and wait.

The male was trying to sort through things in his head, was he ready? Would Deuce be around again? Heck where was Deuce? Did she not know that she was needed within the family and within the pack? The male was worried about the white lady, this was not like her. Just to up and vanish and not say a word to anyone, not even the blackened leader. Soran didn’t even have a clue where his mother was, this scared the male. He was counting on her to help birth the pups, he knew Fayne was skilled, but she was going to be well…just a little busy giving life to the litter of pups that he had helped make.
The soon to be father heard her call, it was covered in a painful plead. The male did not want to waste any time as he ran as fast at the long three legs would carry him. Only making a stop to grab his medical bag that he had marked with a muddy paw print for when she was going into labor. The male did not want his beloved being in pain for any more than what she had to be. Coming to the mouth of the den, he stopped, he heard of how ugly it could get if a male came into the birthing den of a female who was wanting anyone around. He could hear her, shifting around yelping and howling. The male snorted, mentally scolding himself. This was no time to worry about if she was wanted visitors or not. She was in pain and as the pack healer he was bonded by an unspoken promise to heal her and keep her and the pups safe.

Running into the dent him a monster whimpered licking her face, nuzzling her. He just hoped that him being there would help with the pain some. ”I’m here…I’m right here Babe, you can scream and yell all you want; I won’t leave you! Not now, not ever.” If something happened to her, he would risk breaking the trust that Zalen had placed in him and go after her. She was his one and only, and that was just how the male wanted it.

The pain filled howl drew Tharin up. He'd never been around when pups had been born before. They had been silent affairs to keep from drawing predators, and those who knew where the birth was happening kept everyone else away. Tharin hadn't had much interest in getting himself bit by a pregnant female, so he hadn't gone. The howl that went through was something else though. Fayne? Why was she howling like that? Were the pups injured? Was she injured? Remembering Fayne's fears he broke into a run, crossing the land as quickly as he could to arrive.

The cries from inside were painful to listen in on. He paced on the edge of it, seeing that Noah was there as well. Daring to come closer he whined. What's wrong? He could smell blood and other fluids thick in the den. That set him straight soon enough. Pups! His tail wagged with delight before another painful cry reached him. Was it supposed to be that painful? Growling helplessly he backed up, wondering what he was supposed to do to help. He could keep anyone else from crowding her. Deciding that was the best plan Tharin positioned himself to watch over Noah and Fayne, ready to bite anyone that attempted to get too close.

The hurricane over, Palaydrian gone, and a lot of work to still be done. Adonia was half way through her own pregnancy and she could only do so much for the pack. There seemed to be a shadow over the pack lands. Not too much good had been going on. The call came and her ears pricked. It was good news, news that the pack needed. For once New Dawn would have it's first litter of puppies. She wished to be in her lupus form, a form more comfortable to her, but she adapted her Optime, to make her feel more natural in it. Really, she adopted how Zalen used it. The scatter-brained female should have just stayed in her lupus form all along, but the Optime form was useful in many ways, plus she felt she could keep the puppies more safe in this form. It was stronger, and more tactile.

Adonia came running but slowed when she felt her body being pushed too far, not wanting to jar the growing forms in her. Coming to the scene she slowed to a stop her head lifting some as she remained on her back paws and hands. Tharin was guarding the couple, and as she took in the scent it seemed the first body was coming, but none were born yet. Her ears were on alert as she kept a distance from the three. From instinct she knew that getting too close could upset Fayne, and it appeared Tharin was taking up post as bodyguard. She leaned back and sat down. She hoped everything would go well, and she hoped New Dawn could be blessed with life. Her head looked down to her little baby bump and put a hand there trying to feel the life that was within her. A soft smile formed. There was so much negativity surrounding conceiving them, but as she looked to her stomach and felt the warmth that surrounded her body, she didn't regret it. Maybe when they were born, others would love them as others seemed to be happy for Fayne.

Her hand remained on her baby bump as she looked to the scene. She prayed to Luna that Fayne and her offspring would be in good health, and they would thrive. New Dawn needed the hope. It needed the new life.

OCC: So exciting!! New Dawn puppies! Others are still welcome to join whenever, just want to keep this thread moving. :3

Another rush of pain swept over her just as Noah entered her den. She had been much too distracted to notice him lingering outside for a while, but when he entered she immediately felt safer. Her teeth clenched and body stiffened as he nuzzled and licked her, whines and a small grunt came from her just as the wave passed and Fayne panted raising her maw to return his affection. She didn't mind that he was here, she wanted him here, needed him here. It would be terrifying to go through this alone and she'd never turn away her mate or her pack even in such an intimate and touchy time of her life. Noah...I'm so glad you're here. Our loves are going to be here soon. I can te- Just as she was about to finish her sentence the pain hit her again, certainly coming closer and with that contraction the fluids came soaking a spot on her den floor. That meant, it was time to start giving birth, time to help her puppies along and into the world. She groaned and clenched as it passed, her head butting into Noah during it. A weakened smile came across her face as she looked at Noah, nuzzling into him. Okay darling. It's time for them to come now. You don't have to stay in here with me if it's too much for you, I'll be okay. I promise She didn't want him to feel uncomfortable in here.

Fayne could hear someone outside and pin pointed it as Tharin. She was also glad he was going to be here for this, after all the help he'd offered during her pregnancy. The further along Fayne was getting into her labor, the more excited she became and her tail was swaying despite the pain and straining she was going through. A moment later, a third gathered outside. Adonia. The one that Zalen was showing affection to when he should be going after Titania and bringing her back. The one who was pregnant with his puppies. A look of distaste washed over the silver wolf but was soon replaced with agony as yet another contraction writhed through her. She didn't care who was here, the whole pack should see this. It was a small miracle after all. Soon after that push, Fayne had another one and bared down. They were becoming less painful and more meaningful and strong. It was a sign that a puppy was soon to be born and sure enough with the next push, a small figure left her. Her attention was immediately focused on the small creature, her licks wiping it clean and and her teeth fixing to chew the umbilical cord. It was a she and she was light colored, more like her father but silver like the both of them. Fayne continued to lick waiting for a sign of life and soon, she stirred small cries coming from her as she pawed around uselessly.

The mother's eyes widened at the sight of her and she turned to the opening of the den and to Noah if he was still here. She didn't get to voice her excitement because another contraction came, holding the voice in her throat captive. She whined, groaned and pushed. She could feel her first pup finding a place to settle next to her. There was an immediate connection with the tiny warm body and Fayne was immediately the happiest wolf in New Dawn. Well, aside from Noah whom she was sure was equally as happy she was.

And I didn’t know if you knew
So I’m taking this chance to say, that I had the best day with you...today

They were coming.

Be it intuition or perhaps some mental tie that bound the two women together, Drin knew her Fayne needed her. And so she had stolen away in the early morning, Vinatta already settled deep within her golden coat and filling her life with a brand new purpose. She loved it there. Her mate was happy, Leaf was accepted with no questions asked, and the woman was making friends. Nothing about her and Jiva’s decision was regretted, though she simply missed her friends...her sisters she held dear. She prayed her lover wouldn’t be angry with her, but before she’d slipped out of their home she left him a note and began making her way back to the lands she had left almost two weeks before. Hopefully the growing fox kit wouldn’t give his father any trouble when he awoke to find his mother gone. He was hopelessly becoming a momma’s boy through and through.

Fast forward.

Misty woods marking New Dawn territory, the young mother had made fast time traveling alone and on all fours. She was panting by the time she reached the borders, but already the air was thick with apprehension. Do I cross or wait? A real question now that she no longer belonged to the chains of tradition here, btu she only lingered for a few minutes before swallowing her fears and striding into what was once her home. Taking familiar trails through the glen eyrie, she headed towards Fayne’s birthing den, the distant commotion turning her initial thoughts to reality. It was time! The woman mustered more energy to bound forward, now not caring whom she would run into until she broke through a clearing and her eyes took in the huddle of bodies before Fayne’s den entrance.

Fayne I’m here sweetheart! She squealed, too excited to acknowledge the others as she jostled her way to the front by Noah. She gave him an affectionate headbutt to the shoulder, filling the birthing den with her own whines as the scent of afterbirth seeped into her snout. The golden fae’s eyes widened with joy upon seeing the first wet body nestled against her mother, but Drin stayed in the den opening collapsing to the floor on her belly as her tail wagged wildly behind her. She’d approach Fayne when the birthing was over to shower her friend and sister with licks and nuzzles after the babes were all born. You’re doing so well! I’m so proud of you sister, she said, turning a toothy grin to Noah. A beautiful healthy girl had just been born to New Dawn, and more seemed to be on the way.

OOC: sorry to interrupt the party, Tharin being all protective

Tharin stood up as Adonia came forwards, making sure that she wasn't coming too close. He took in the slight bump in her body, tail wagging softly. Hopefully these pups would be born better. It would be good for the alpha to have pups. Adonia wasn't an alpha, but Tharin thought she would become one when the pups were born. Zalen had chosen her after all. It hadn't occurred to him that Zalen might not see it that way. Unfortunately Palaydrian chose this moment to break through the border and enter the pack. His response was immediate and aggressive.

Snarling deeply he tore through, reaching Palaydrian. He pushed himself between her and Fayne, his growls deep and reverberating through his body. Get out! Fayne was giving birth! All this crowding couldn't be good. Even worse, this was an intruder. Was she here to kill the pups because her own had died? It was perfectly possible. His instincts were screaming at him, sending him to keep lashing forwards to drive Palaydrian away from the den, needing to keep Fayne safe.

OOC: Keeping this moving. :3

Giving birth was hard work and after the first puppy came, Fayne was already tired. She couldn't stop here though, there were more to come. The contractions continued, wracking her body and making her stiff as they passed. She wasn't really focused on what was going on outside, but she did catch the sound of Palaydrian's voice on the air encouraging her. It gave her some strength knowing the creme wolf had traveled to New Dawn just for the birthing of her children. The happiness was short lived. Soon after, she heard a growl and then Tharin's voice demanding her friend to leave. Her ears pasted back, tempted to shout out to the Beta. Had she really crossed into New Dawn territory just to be here for Fayne? Another contraction washed over the Gamma and she rode it out. The pain was becoming less of a problem and now her energy was becoming a concern. She was tired, and getting more tired with each push she was forced to make. Still, she managed to let out her voice as tired as it may sound. Tharin... please let her be. I need her here for strength...just let it pass this once.

Fayne knew it was a large feet for anyone to be allowed into New Dawn that wasn't pack, especially without being escorted here. But she was recently one of their family and still the silver Gamma's sister. Was it really so bad that she was here for this day? She knew well that what Tharin was doing was the right thing and it would be hard for him to ignore it. Fayne couldn't focus on the happenings outside anymore. She had a job that needed to be done. The silver woman nuzzled the light colored pup that pawed at her belly before she was called to push again. It seemed that everything that was going on outside the mouth of her den was nothing more than mumbles in her ear at the moment. In between contractions, she licked and nuzzled at the life form at her side. She squealed and whined, pressing into her. Fayne knew what she wanted, but it would have to wait until her brothers or sisters arrived. Several moments passed and another pup arrived, flopping onto the den floor. Fayne turned her attentions to it, repeating the process that she'd used for the first pup. This one was dark, mostly black, but she held the sliver highlighting that her mother and father had.

After the second pup was born, Fayne knew that was all she'd be having. The contractions quit as soon as the afterbirth arrived. Now she could focus on her two lovely pups and pay them the affection they deserved. Her eyes sparkled as she looked up to Noah, as his own eyes beheld the sight of their children. Once they were both clean, they began to feed for the first time. The happiness Fayne was feeling was something indescribable, something she'd never felt before and she never wanted it to end. She was in her own little world for a while, nuzzling at the two girls snuggled up to her. She soon realized there was a group of pack members, friends, and family outside her den probably waiting to see the two darlings. Now, it was time to name them. The silver Gamma cocked her head as she looked down on them, trying to think of names. Names...any ideas Noah? She looked up to him, the tiredness visible in her emerald orbs. Right now, she really wanted to sleep but her loves would need names before she could rest.
