Word Count → 280 :: Takes place October 5th, any number of people welcome

Usually Keldava was one who enjoyed her sleep but today she had risen early to get everything ready, too excited to sleep for long. Recently the amount of time she had been spending with her sister was spotty at best – circumstances and not living in the same house anymore pushing them apart – so she was especially looking forwards to the trip; Not only was she going on a long journey to somewhere she had never been before, but Gina would be coming with her!

The sun was just beginning to peek above the trees as Keldava made her way into the centre of Thornsbury, tugging Snowdrop behind her on a halter. The good natured horse was loaded up heavily with the items Keldava was taking to trade – mostly her own crafts but some stuff from the Arte stores to supplement her own goods when she traded for the cows that Skye had requested – from the outside it just looked like Keldava was taking a lot of furs and leather, since the valuable items were wrapped within the bundles. Snowdrop was laden far too heavily for riding but that didn’t bother Keldava who was used to using her own feet for exploration.

At the moment Keldava was leaning casually against Snowdrop, muttering to herself under her breath; reciting the items that various people had asked her. Her body language grew more and more agitated as she went on until eventually she decided she couldn’t wait any longer for a decent time and leant her muzzle backwards, letting a howl ring out. It was meant to call Gina, but it also announced their leaving for anyone else who wanted to poke their nose around.

out of character

Sleep had evaded the stout Australian Shepherd and he found himself awake in the wee hours of the morning, witnessing the almost timid stream of sunlight coming from the emerging sun. Helios couldn't help but stifle a yawn as he plodded along the path. Thornsbury had fascinated him as soon as he walked into it and since then he had pleasured himself by walking about daily in the usually active location. However, the morning provided a pleasant solitude for the most part. Raising his hands above his head in a luxurious stretch he noticed that he was not completely alone.

Not too far off, he registered a large hybrid-esque canine that was easily a head taller than him. Despite the height difference he found her to be very pleasing to the eyes. A smile appeared on his narrow muzzle and his chocolatey nose twitched eagerly at introducing himself to this unfamiliar canine. Perhaps, he had seen her around but Helios hadn't engaged much with many of his Cercatori d'Arte pack members yet and knew very few names. The smile briefly faltered when he finally took notice of the horse she leaned on. They made him nervous, being so much bigger than him and since coming to Nova Scotia everyone seemed to have an equine companion.

Trying to ignore his rather absurd anxiety toward the animal and marched forward. At a second glance she seemed not to be simply loitering but preparing for some sort of trip by the way her horse was laden. It seemed like she was waiting for someone when her howl rang out. Granted, she could have beckoned the whole town. The idea of trading was foreign to his mind in all respects other than the base concept and he was rather confused. "Wow," he voiced as he come closer, "Looks like you're ready for some kind of trip." Looking back up at her, he smiled honestly and spoke again, "Name's Helios."

Dalgina had been busy, digging through her art and trying to decide what to bring. Ovi had been disappointed when she'd said it was a trip just for sisters. Tehu had complained a lot, not realizing that she didn't truly count him the way that she counted the tiger. Ovi was very much his own self, while Tehu had always been with her since she'd been young. The tiger helped her pick out what she would bring, pulling out older art that was more cheerful, along with some of the darker more dreadful paintings that might sell. She hadn't known what to choose, and in the end had decided to trust Ovi's choices.

The howl surprised her, dropping some of the art again. Scooping it all back up she hugged Ovi, waving goodbye as she slipped out of Taru's house. Perhaps she could get something for them while she was there. A pretty necklace for Ovi, and a carving for Taru. She might like that. Reaching where Keldava stood she smiled brightly, her bags packed and wrapped around her frame. Ready! She looked over at the stranger curiously, her gaze slightly empty. Who he was mattered little as they'd be off soon, away from them all.
