In need of some fun

Amatha had been cooped up in that room with her parents for so long. Isa wasn't waking up and Hadley was upset most of the time and didn't really want to play so the small pup was bored most of the time. She was still nervous to be outside for fear of being caught in another storm, so when Amatha slipped away from her parents, she wandered around the courthouse. She still didn't understand why her mother had been sleeping for so long but she probably wouldn't understand until she was older. Still, she wanted something to do. Have someone to play with. Apparently Kade didn't want to play anymore, at least not while mom was sick, and Amatha hadn't seen any other pups around. She really wished there was someone for her to play with.

Amatha stopped at the entrance to the courthouse, looking out at the land. It didn't look so bad anymore. Maybe it was ok to be outside. She wasn't going anywhere though. Even the thought of a storm coming terrified her, imoblizing the brown hued pup at the entrance, even though there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Her tail tucked between her legs as she whimpered, backing up away from the doorway.

There was still much to do around Casa, inside and out. Alister, now fully, recovered was busy enough with all the repairs that needed to be done, but he was riddled with worry. Isa, a woman who'd been fast becoming a friend to the tawny knight had fallen grievously ill. He'd visited the couple at their home days ago to find her bedridden and frail, unable to wake. Alister spent most of that day pouring over various medical texts beside Hadley, relaying whatever information he uncovered to the illiterate carpenter. The word 'coma' kept cropping up, each time without a word on how to wake the afflicted. There were things they could try, but the risk was high, and neither of them knew what they were doing. The cause itself was uncertain, and Alister was forced to part from the pair of them with Isa still unresponsive. If she didn't wake soon...No, he didn't want to think about that. She had a mate, a daughter, so much to live for, how could this happen?

He stared at the ceiling ponderously, hands beneath his head as he lay on top of his bed. He'd go check on her again today, see if there was anything he could do to help Hadley. The man was a mess, frantic for a cure Alister was almost certain he wouldn't find. Time was ticking away for the silvery woman, they could only pray that she would wake up. Unsettled, he left the bed and fastened on his cloak. With a brisk pace he headed up the stairs and towards the doors. As soon as he had one of the doors open his gaze fell to the ground where a pup stood, tail bent beneath her and ears low with fear. "Amatha?" The Callow man glanced around, but didn't see Hadley anywhere, nor did he smell him. The young girl must have run off when Hadley wasn't looking.

He went to his knees to be closer to her level, "What's the matter, now? I'm not that scary." He teased the child, reaching out slowly, so he wouldn't startle her, hoping to pat her on the head soothingly. He waited for the pup to calm down, surveying the surroundings, "where's your father?" The Callow man looked her in the eye, narrowing his just a touch, and quirking a brow, "not running off are you?"

Amatha jumped slightly upon hearing her name. She looked up to see the man her mother called “Uncle Alister.” Immediately the small pup became excited, her tail whipping back and forth furiously. Ungle Aliser! Most don’t usually understand what she says since it was still more of a babble than her actually speaking. Maybe Alister could, she wasn’t sure though. In her mind, Alister was her Uncle since that was what her mother always called him. She wasn’t aware they weren’t actually related. He went down on his knees and reached out to pat her head as he teased her lightly. She wasn’t afraid of him, just scared another storm would come. When she tried to explain it though it only came out as incoherent babble.

Being asked where her father was, Amatha’s gaze lowered to the ground. Da wif mama. She sweepin sill. I no run off, husf horde. It was still mainly incoherent babble but Alister might be able to understand that she was understand that she was saying that her mother was still sleeping and that she didn’t run off, she was just bored.

Amatha smiled up at Alister before leaping towards him, hoping to “knock over” the large male like she used to do with her father before her mother got sick. Her tail wagged back and forth excitedly. Will you pay wif me Ungle Aliser?

OOC: Sorry for suck post, been really stressful these past couple days >.<

The pup quickly perked up, tail batting behind her causing a broad smile to cross his muzzle. What was that she called him? Ungle? Oh...Uncle! Right, that's what Isa called him when he'd first met Amatha. It felt a little strange, or rather it felt very strange especially to the wolfdog who'd never known what it was like to have a family and he paused for a moment to muss his mane. But his muzzle was quick to spread into a warm smile once again and he ruffled the child's ears. His own tail gave a few slow wags behind him to see her so innocent and oblivious to all that was going on. God, he hoped Isa woke up. A hand reached up to the pendant at his chest which he held for a moment, hardly aware that he was even doing so.

He had to pay close attention to her words, trying to make sense of the toddler's babble. He understood enough, though he wasn't entirely sure Hadley would allow his daughter to go anywhere unaccompanied. Isa was still bedridden it seemed and he tried to keep his expression light, smiling down at the girl. She didn't understand...And she most likely wouldn't for some time now. Perhaps it was for the best.

The pup jumped at him, and bent awkwardly down to his knees it knocked him off balance and he fell back in the grass with an "Umph!" When he lifted his head he looked up to see the pup standing on his chest, tail wagging behind her. She asked him to play, or at least he thought that's what she said and he smiled. "Of course, that's what er...Uncle's are for right?" The pup had been through a lot already, she deserved whatever happiness she could get, and perhaps it would serve to take his mind off things as well. "You going to let me up, now, or am I going to have to introduce you to tickle master Alister?" His hands crept close to the young girl's sides prepared to force a surrender via tickling.

Daddy's Girl

Word Count → 310 :: Out of Character text

Alister seemed to understand what she was saying, at least for the most part. He reached his hand down to ruffle her ears with a smile on his face. This was only the second time she was around Alister but in her mind he was family and she was happy to have him there. Surely he would play with her right?

Amatha knocked him over and crawled on top of him, standing on his chest as she asked him to play with her. He quickly agreed to it but soon after, his hands came up to her sides, threatening to tickle her. The small pup snapped her teeth in front of his hands, threatening to bite with her puppy teeth if he tried to tickle her. She growled lightly before jumping off of him. The pup was barely out of arms reach as she lowered herself down into a playful bow, yipping lightly and egging him on. [b]You no gonna cash me![b] Amatha teased him, claiming he couldn’t catch her. Hopefully he would chase after her like her father did, She wanted to have some fun.

OOC:

The little girl let loose a tiny growl, and he chuckled, moving his hands away. "I yield," he acknowledging his surrender feigning fear in the face of her terrible puppish wrath. She swiftly hopped down assuming a play bow before darting around. He grinned, russet dipped tail wagging doggishly behind him as he pulled himself up from the grass and onto his hands and knees. Glancing down at his pants clad form his muzzle turned into a frown. "Just a moment, pup, just er...wait right there." He wasn't sure how much she understood but he smiled at her warmly, hazel eyes glancing about for a suitable place to stash his clothing and weapons. He found a decent enough niche and turned his back on the puppy to hastily disrobe, blushing awkwardly beneath his dirty blonde cheeks. He was more careful with his sword belt which he strung on a tree branch.

Once he was entirely naked, well, not graphically so, most luperci didn't even wear clothing, but the male felt a bit more...ah, what was the word, civilized, when he was wearing his pants. His cloak was hung on a branch as well and he began the process of shifting. It didn't take too long as he had a fair amount of practice as a born luperci and the entire process was complete within seven or so minutes. It wasn't the fastest he'd shifted, but he hadn't used any four-legged form for a while, as it was only necessary for hunting. He wasn't much of an archer to be able to down a creature in Optime.

He stood on heavy secui paws as the tawny wolfdog hadn't been in lupus since childhood. Although he was equal parts wolf and dog he felt he appeared more dog-like in lupus, which wasn't a good thing in his old pack. He was more partial to the heavy beast-like secui, which appeared more wolfish, due to the size and placement of muscle. He looked over his shoulder carefully, pondering whether the pup had seen someone shift before. He hadn't even considered it, and watched her carefully, praying that it hadn't startled or frightened her.

Slowly he drew closer to where she was, bowing in return when he reached her and allowing a rare doggish bark to sound as his tail wagged behind his upturned rear. "Oh, is that so?" He quirked a brow, the steel sun pendant still shining silver against his chest. It was the one thing that that remained to adorn his four-legged form. He was loathe to part with it ever again. He jumped towards her, encouraging her to run off, muzzle set in a wide grin as he crouched in preparation to give chase.
