Its often in the darkest corners of our minds that hold the secrets to our higher reasoning. X'ies often saw life as a chess board, moving pieces as befitted their nature. It was his curse and gift that allowed him to predict movements of people with such accuracy. Of course this was only after knowing them for awhile, X'yrin was a bad person to play against...her moves he could see several rounds in advance. She wanted children, and now that she was carrying them...my wasn't she happy. As for the other half of the royal duo. Jaden had been easy to predict from day one, the man was simple...he didn't understand the mind of a nomad...not yet anyways. He would likely come after X'ies seeking revenge...or perhaps just to dominate the grey male. This in the mind of X'ies was acceptable, after all the male hadn't thought much about his own moves....particularly important was the field that they chose for battle. But for today X'ies could not be distracted by futile inter-pack conflicts, there were things that needed to be taken care of.

Primarily this little adventure was one involving relations with those who lay outside of the Sangilak collective. For a reason that X'ies could not comprehend other wolves appeared to view them with distaste, or worse..outright hatred. They grey one of course was curious to the reasons behind this, in his mind an ego spoke of those that feared what they knew was inherently superior. However the problem with supremacy was the elitism that it bred, and unfortunately in the current state of the collective X'ies could not afford to let this reasoning go through. The Nomads would not survive long if they were going to fully out themselves. Assimilation was at the moment a choice, and whilst that choice bred mental and physical weakness from within, if this was not the case then they would scare off more potential members. Were it not for their current weakness in numbers then X'ies would have not a care, those who left their packs, their families to join others were tainted. They had already the taste of betrayal on their muzzles, in the Nomadic life such a choice would have been met with banishment and death if seen again.

It was for this reason that X'ies was now moving across the northern lands and towards the borders of Vinatta once again. His mind on this instance was one of uncertainty. He wished to learn more of Vinatta and their reasoning for disliking the collective, during the last meeting their puppy king had declared it was due to where Sangilak had settled, however to X'ies this had never quite sat right, from what he heard the two packs had laid claim to land at the same time, so if they had a legitimate grievance about distance then it would have best been solved at the time before development occurred. But of course they had heard nothing up till the visit, which lead X'ies to a dual conclusion...the Vinattan leadership was cowardly, but..they also had another reason for disliking the Sangilak one that for the moment at least eluded the light of truth. Trade routes were important...and X'ies was beginning to see a pattern in the development of the malice for his pack. Like a poison it seemed to seep out from this place, those with friendly relations with Vinatta seemed less likely to approach the numerically weaker pack. If Sangilak was to continue and to thrive, this could not go on...X'ies was on a mission today...to find out why Vinatta truly disliked them...and to ensure that the problem was solved...regardless of the method used.

X'yrin was with child his child he would not allow his offspring to be born into further weakness. For the two outcomes he had in mind, he had brought two of his pack members...the first...X'uri his litter-mate and fellow Lambda. Not as sharp as X'ies, but for what he lacked in perception he made up for in charisma. The other, Shylome...native of Africa and new sister to the pack. She was a strong predator...and with Vinatta having newborns...well...Stormbringer flesh would no doubt make a excellent meal for her. "...We will talk and discern their reasoning, if things look like they are going nowhere...we'll examine other options...". He would glance briefly at the Hyena, then turn his eyes to the sky...letting out a howl. Once finished he looked back down and thought. "..Of course..should they not answer...perhaps we should see if their pup dens are as well guarded as their borders....".

"Always something going on with this cursed place."

Shylome came back from wandering briefly, only to find herself involved in some kind of conflict with another clan... not that she really minded the idea of conflict that much, it was just the idea of attacking wolves. Most of the strange ones she'd come across acted with a far-reaching civility... at least compared to what she was used to.

So she wasn't quite sure what she was doing here, though she came fully prepared to defend her new family. Even with her mind as experienced as it was with danger and carnal violence, extending that knowledge to wolves in general proved mentally difficult. They all seemed so pacifist. Any creature that could have a horse trapped a few feet away and not kill it... well, it was hardly a carnivore. Probably the most brutal exchange here would be of words and glances.

She yawned despite herself, her beady eyes fixed further into the territory. It occurred to her that if her friend was howling, she should probably contribute.

So she did, not with the native wolf noise, but with her own cackle, a noise arising from generations of derisive cynicism and grief that, at length, morphed into a language, a staccato call every bit as ghostly as the mournful legato notes of her friend and just as loud.

ooc: Form: Lupus, As was stated in the PMs about this thread. Since no one is responding, Shylome and I will RP out our IC reaction. Then leave.

Seconds passed, then minutes, then an hour. X'ies was left just sitting there watching and waiting for a response from Vinatta. However none would come, not a response from their leader or a response from any of their members. He briefly looked over at Shylome, then back at the pack borders. His thoughts now lay with three likely conclusions as to why the call was going unanswered. Number one, following the first and last meeting between the two the Puppy King had declared that members of the collective were to be ignored on the borders. However even then it didn't add up, the Vinattans would not know the voice of the collective or indeed of X'ies as Jaden was the one to call for them the last time. This also led however into point two. There was the possibility that their security was just absolutely terrible. That said not many people actually announced themselves before raiding a territory...but even then not a single curious soul willing to come and see what was going on? It made no sense that no one would come to greet him, unless of course they were being watched at the borders as any stranger would be.But then the grey wolf or the Hyena would probably have picked something up by now.

"...It would appear that the other pack is perhaps deaf, or just very lazy at border patrol....".

There was of course the possibility that Vinatta had gone inward assuming that the rumoured influx of Stormbringers X'yrin refereed to was in fact a pregnancy. Tending to the brood and putting foreign relations on hold, but even then..."...The safety of the litter would be paramount.... not responding to their borders would indicate a weakness in their defenses...". X'ies was willing to wait a little bit longer for a response however he was beginning to suspect that even with a second call, this visit was a fruitless one. " Or...at least partially....". He thought to himself, after all if he had learned at this point that Vinattan border was poorly guarded, then if the collective required an attack on them...this information would be useful.

"...So Sister...what are your thoughts?...".

X'ies spoke to the Hyena, wishing to hear the Africans opinion on the matter.

Shylome spent most of the hour waiting with her packmate, only leaving to go relieve herself, something she was vaguely aware she probably wasn't supposed to do on the border of another's territory, but the notion of anxiety did not cross her mind. Rather, the waiting had eroded her notions of courtesy enough for her to consider such an act acceptable in context, and she had only minimal fear of wolves to begin with.

X'ies voice roused her from the slumber she'd begun within the last few minutes, and she scratched behind one ear, yawning widely and licking her chops with a few hard blinks. "I think it is a very strange thing, but I do not fully understand you wolves. I thought that if we are standing on the border, then someone should be coming to chase us away, but this seems to confuse you as much as me. Perhaps they intend to let us have this piece of their land?"
