WC: 312 OOC: Whee fun Awenasa is out of saqui's eyesight but still close by. Set any time of day

The wolf-dog needed to get out of her pack for a little bit, but instead of taking Mirage with her she just walked on her own. She didn't think she would need anything large to drag back to her pack and she still had a broken arm. She doubted she could keep the energy to stay up on a horse with a hurt arm. Awenasa was with her as usual, feeling she wanted to help Saqui look for plants and things they could use to rebuild their crops, though they had seed that she collected earlier in the year and that others collected in the years before, but she wanted to make more of a veriety for everyone. Including the animals. Though she changed her profession to hunter, she still wanted to help with the crops as she had wanted to help with the horses even though she wasn't in animal tending.

She moved through the forested floor, not really trying, Awenasa didn't seem to care as she foraged round herself, getting further and further ahead of her. Saqui didn't mind, she wasn't worried for her in one bit, she would just daydream about her new home, or think about Claudius who she helped teach to make baskets. He was a smart man, quick learner and she enjoyed his company, she smiled at the thought, of course he was pretty cute though, but she didn't think much further than that.

Awenasa was aware of Saqui's distractions and she just shrugged it off and waddled on forward, sniffing for anything good that the woman could use, her little claws digging at the newly fallen leaves to uncover some things. She was as solid as could be, and didn't choose to hide herself, she rarely did. She moved slowly and deliberately through the brush and trees, probably making more noise than was necessary.

Ananse and Loki trailed cheerfully behind her as she lead them off for a hunt. They wouldn't actually be participating yet, but she thought it would be good for them to watch. Besides, this might not end up as a typical hunt. She might be lucky and come across an unattended kill, or a fresh one where she could just drive off whoever was eating there. She had no problems taking a meal one way or another. Her nose to the ground she picked up a slightly strange scent. It wasn't anything she quite recognized, but it was prey of some sort.

Tail swaying she signaled her pups to fall back and stay hidden. Loki trailed after her anyways, doing his best to be stealthy about it. Pretending not to notice she continued on her way, following the strange scent until she came across a very delicious otter. They weren't anywhere near water, putting it a rather strong disadvantage. Tail swaying she ducked low and slipped forwards. The otter continued on it's path, oblivious to the hunter until it was too late, and she had sprung forwards to fasten her jaws around the critter's neck.

WC: 246 OOC: snicker

Awenasa had nothing to fear, for as a spirit she could not die again. So she did not have the look out as any other otter would and cared not for being near a river or lake, so she did not sense Terra in any way that a normal animal would, but just continued on her way. She still did have some of her instincts like if something was chasing her she'd run, so the second she saw the animal pounce right on top of her scared her into a run, though all she really had to do was just disembody herself, which she did, though Terra may have touched flesh in itself, but it just seemed to slide away as though she touched nothing but air. The creature was now a few inches from the wolf, chattering away, not caring if she was speaking in low speech.

Saqui had not heard the commotion, though she was hearing the chattering, but it sounded more like taunting to her as the Otter was probably terrorizing a squirrel or something. She continued her slow path towards the otter, though she doubted she would catch up to the creature since she just found a nice patch of something worth looking at and possibly picking for one of the healers. She never worried for the animal, though at times her instinct would be to protect her if she saw anyone attacking her, but Awenasa wasn't like any other animal.

The otter was incredibly stupid. It hadn't realized Terra was there at all. Her fangs sank into the soft warm flesh, enjoying the feel of the otter in her grasp. Her tail swayed happily as the otter began to attempt to run. It wouldn't be able to get far. Or at least, it shouldn't have been able to. One minute the otter was grasped tightly in her mouth, and the next her teeth snapped against each other. Surprised Terra glanced around, finding the otter a couple feet away.

She hadn't missed. Terra knew she hadn't. So how had it managed to get over there? It was chattering madly now, scolding her with the same squirrel tongue that Terra loved to mock. A playful grin crossed her face, crouching low to try again. Terra had no qualms with playing with her food. She stalked forwards, sliding to move past the otter before she suddenly twisted to catch the otter again. This time she would keep hold of it.

WC: 210 OOC: XD

Awenasa wasn’t entirely mad, this wolf was doing what she was suppose to. The claws did not hurt but the whole thing was uncomfortable. As she chattered, telling the wolf off. She could see exactly how confused the animal was and this made Awenasa more confident in herself, and laugh on the inside at the animal who so stupidly tried to attack a spirit. Asa didn’t have any qualms with playing with the living so she was acting sluggish when terra jumped at her. It was a deceptive move from the otter, which would probably make the wolf more confident in herself.

This time she was gone before the golden wolf could take her flesh, though why she would want to after already tasing her skin that had no real blood flowing, she had no idea, but she was now skitter up a tree, but to taunt the woman. She was halfway up the tree giving the golden wolf an otter laugh. Saqui heard this from not far off, though she heard some of the leaves rustle she did not make a big deal of it as she found a nice plant she could use the roots for the apothecary. She’d see to the animal in a second.

The otter was sluggish in it's movements this time. Without that lightning fast speed from before she was sure to have the meal. Her pups popped up to watch as she struck yet again. Startlingly the otter vanished before she even arrived. Something was up with this creature. She could smell it. It smelled just like a normal otter. She had caught it, and had felt that it was real. So how was it doing that? Terra twisted around, listening to the otter's laughter. Now it was making fun of her!

A bit angry Terra growled, looking over to find the impossible.

Otters can't climb trees. They are water creatures. Dexterous, clever, and smooth, they can wriggle into all kinds of spaces and do lots of things. They can't go straight up a tree trunk like a squirrel. Terra's hackles raised, backing away from the strange creature. Whatever it was, it was definitely not an otter. It was something else. Perhaps she should get out of there, before the creature tired of her. She could hunt elsewhere for food.
