Private for Skoll/ Raze <3 Forward dated to the 14th Smile
WC: 678

The evening was beginning to creep into the lands now, the warmth of the day had given way to the cool night's chill, along with the first spots of rain, small fine droplets were falling from the sky now, they were falling rather quickly now, dampening the surroundings. The wind was stronger now, a little fiercer than it had been during the day, and colder, it seemed that this night would be wintery rather than an autumnal one. Most of the rapidly darkening sky was covered with thick grey clouds, but in the gaps between them the first evening stars could be seen, small pinpricks of light in the velvet sky. The moon was visible now and again as the winds blew the clouds past it, a thin crescent now, stretching like a grin across the sky, seeming to be smiling down on the lands beneath it. The breeze was fierce enough now to pull dying leaves from the trees, the golden and red objects falling, dancing with the zephyrs before resting upon the ground. Autumn was truly well underway now, the gnarled branches of many of the trees were stripped almost bare of their leaves and in this weather seemed to be losing more and more with each passing moment, many of the fallen leaves were beginning to pile up against the trunks of the trees that they had so very readily vacated. Soran walked through all of this, her long legs moving her quickly through the lands; she had had a lovely day with Terra, it had been wonderful to meet her young pups, but alas there was no sign of Deuce, at least not recently. The sable female had also managed to see Robin, who looked well, she had been all smiles when she had seen her great grandmother and the time that they had spent together had been wonderful; it was strange, Soran realised, how she had not noticed just how much she had missed her patchwork descendant until she had seen her again, she had almost not wanted to leave the multi-coloured female's side, she had missed her very dearly and so had stayed for the longest possible time she could have. But the time had come for her to move on once more, she had to go back to New Dawn, she needed to be with her family, her pack again, it was a long walk but if she left now then she would make it back soon enough.

The ebony female was walking through the lands un-escorted, Robin had assured her that if she was simply leaving then she would be alright, enough of the wolves would recognise the ebony female by sight and would know that she was not a threat. Robin had offered to join her on the walk to the borders, but it was a very short one and the ebony New Dawner could see how exhausted her patchwork great granddaughter was and so she had insisted that the young female stay where she was and go to sleep, there was no point in them both getting soaking wet when Soran knew her way out of the lands. The sable female smiled as she walked, even though she had been given bad news, that no-one had seen her pale mate, she had at least had a wonderful day spending time with her friends and family. And after all there were many places that her alabaster lover could still be, somehow Soran knew that she was safe, she was sure of it, her own heart was still beating after all, she was sure that if Deuce had died then her own body would simply give up and allow her to wither away. The tall female had to keep hoping, else she would go completely mad, she would fall into a depressed state otherwise, she would not be able to function. The sable female walked briskly and soon enough she was at the borders, for a moment she paused, taking a final glance at the lands with calm jade eyes.

Hi hi hi! +521

Once again, the Captain had found himself with new unexpected responsibility in the Court. However, rather than a new set of duties or a horse to feed and exercise, he was stuck with another Luperci to take care of. Since bringing the girl into the pack, he’d had to hunt for her while she recovered from her assault and otherwise support her in those first few days she remained curled in a ball and trembling in the hotel room adjacent to his. Eventually Keziah had gotten well enough to walk out and about, but the black-and-tan dog was timid around the rest of the pack and tended to shadow him like a duckling. It was very strange, but Skoll couldn’t honestly say he minded; he was only glad that he’d finally managed to sort of help someone out of the darkness, and he had faith that she’d fully recover and either become a full part of the pack or leave eventually.

Darkness had fallen over the Kingdom, bringing with it a bitter chill that tasted of the first frosts of an upcoming winter. Leaves rustled like ghosts in the shadows, and the blond man’s ears swiveled as he jogged on two legs through the territory. His realm was that of sunlight, but with his brother withdrawn after their mother’s death Skoll found himself pacing through the night, too. He thought it was more dangerous, more deserving of scrutiny, and he didn’t want to miss a thing no matter what hour of the day it was.

He heard footsteps behind him and slowed, glancing over his shoulder to the woman following him. Keziah’s shoulders were hunched, her hands rubbing up and down her arms to warm herself as the wind cut through her short fur. She looked miserable, her blue eyes squinted against the wind, and Skoll frowned as he stopped and turned to her. “You can go back to the hotel, you know,” he said wearily, but she only shook her head.

“Your fur’s a glowstick in the dark, y’know what I’m sayin’?” Keziah quipped, her voice full of false bravado. “Gotta be your shadow; bears ’re gonna see ya, but they ain’t gonna see me.”

Skoll offered her a courteous grin, knowing full well she was cold and scared and probably just didn’t want to walk back to the hotel all by herself. He appreciated her good humor, however, and so continued to walk though at a pace she could manage too. He kept his eye out for anything interesting along the way as he walked toward the borders, believing that this night would be uneventful, until a dark shape looming at the edge of the territory startled him. His ears snapped back against his mane, and Keziah froze, her chest heaving with shallow breaths as she followed his green gaze.

“Hail,” Skoll called in as impressive a voice he could muster, changing direction to approach the shadow. “Who are you, and what are you doing here?” His nostrils flared to take in the stranger’s scent, catching a familiar tinge to it but nothing that smoothed his hackles just yet.

Hi! Big Grin
WC: 553

The sable female was lost in thought for just a moment, she had hoped that if Deuce was looking for her that she would have come here; after all with Robin, Linden, Fee and Haven here it was a logical choice, Deuce knew how much Soran loved her family, that if she were going anywhere within the pack lands that she would have probably come here surely? She would have been wrong of course, had she come here. But if she had then at least Soran would have found her today, she would have been able to wrap her in her arms and tell her how she had missed her so desperately, how she loved her with every inch of her being, how she felt like she had lost half of herself with Deuce being absent from her life. More and more the ebony lady was wishing that she had left a note for her pale lover, explaining that she had gone to seek out Blind's killer, that she loved her and that she would be home soon. It was true that Soran was away so much longer than anticipated, but then Deuce would have known to wait, she would have known that her pull was too much for Soran to resist, that the dark female would not rest until she was back in her arms. Soran had hoped that she would have known that anyway, but no, she had gone missing. Soran took a deep breath and looked around the lands once more, not spotting the pale shape in the distance. She mused over where Deuce might be, on places that she could check whilst she was so far south, Aniwaya? No it was pointless going there, even though the pair both knew that the pack was peaceful and good hearted the scars of the war were enough to keep Deuce away she was sure. But there was Casa di Cavalieri, of course! Deuce could have gone there, she could have gone to see her dark son, he was the Alpha there after all. Soran had made her decision, she would go there, she would ask Jazper if he had seen his mother, it was only a short walk in the dark female's eyes, she would set off now.

These thoughts were cut off by a loud call from behind her, the dark lady turned and saw the male nearby, he was pale and familiar in a way, but somehow she could not quite put her finger on why. He called out, asking her who she was and why she was here. The lady dropped herself into a relaxed, submissive stance, lowering her head and tail, showing that she was no threat.
"Hello there! Apologies for being on the lands, I was just leaving actually. I have been to visit my friends and family. You may know them, Terra and Robin Aatte? I'm Soran Aatte by the way," Soran called back politely, keeping her tone warm and friendly. She took a few steps closer so that the male would be able to see her better, knowing full well that she was a dark creature standing in dark surroundings, even to someone who knew her well she supposed with her height and dark pelt that she could look quite imposing in this setting.
