For Odessa c: Uhm, evening tiime. Uhm, I totally forgot that Ankh probably is a bit young(?), so if it's completely out of character for odessa to come that close to water and borders, let me know and I shall try to fix.

It had been easy to think that matters would solve themselves now when he was no longer a nomad wandering the long roads between two homes. Things were probably improving, overall, but at times it was difficult for him to see. Larkspur’s son was quick to allow negative aspects in life weight him down, especially if the issue was close at heart. There were joyous new things in his life as well, but right now, he was in a dark place, with a grieving heart. The dark giant hadn’t been one to seek out social encounters lately, but he knew well that it wouldn’t help to hide away from the ones he loved. Eris was the one he felt he could confide in without restraint, but it was unfair to put much burden on her. Itachi would have been a possible alternative, but the man had recently lost his mate, and it would never occur to the black man to burden him with issues that were microscopic in comparison.

In his large and bulkish lupus form, the dark man stalked the shadows along the riverbanks that protected Salsola from careless strangers. Eyes holding the swirling shades of angry thunder clouds scanned the darkened area beyond the black waters. He could detect no movement of anything larger than minor game. It was a good thing – canines rarely found it a good idea to intrude on their borders anymore – yet he had to swallow away the feeling of disappointment. He had done bad things, and liked it; and therefore, had discovered that he was a bad man. With no conflict, there was no way for him to sharpen and improve his… questionable methods. With the exception for one of the slaves during the hurricane, there was rarely any reason to play rough with the slaves either. There was only peace now, and he wasn’t sure if he was suited for it. Not while he had anger that he needed to burn off.

There was a slight wish to encounter Itachi, but the chance of that was very slim these days. Apparently, the man had two live children to care for in addition to the loss of his mate. A shame. So the dark man continued alone along the slightly curved form of the river, on occasion catching disturbances in the calm sections of the dark water from surfacing fish.

nah s'cool, also my post sucks so bad

Ankh was getting older now, and it occurred to Odessa that it was now, perhaps, that it would be useful for him to learn where his food came from. She'd put the idea forward to Imhotep last night, after voicing her idea to Novak (though his opinion didn't weight in much), and he'd agreed. Ankh was just as enthusiastic when told, while he wasn't really sure how things would go down, and when his mother called him out after he'd eaten, he'd bounded to his feet. Of course, Ankh's faced dropped a bit, when his mother produced his cloak. It was long and draped on the floor when he moved, and therefore he disliked the garment. But it was a small price to pay for a bit of fun. Padding along behind his mother Ankh followed her the lengthy distance, stopping every few moments.

Orange eyes hit the form of her much larger cousin, Pandemic, soon enough and a smile blossomed on her face. 'Pan!' she grinned, 'It's been ages!' Ankh hung back wearily, the larger black male dwarfing him if anyone ever did.

Fpffth, lies!

Thoughts had brought him far from the present, and it seemed the approaching pair discovered him first. He didn’t like the fact that they had caught him in lupus form, but it couldn’t be helped. Black ears leaned back at first, before recognition bloomed and the names came to home – or, name. He wasn’t certain of the little one, though the scent was not unfamiliar; he knew both parents. It had taken a moment, but now a thin yet genuine smile stretched across the D’Angelo’s dark lips. He wasn’t very used to honest smiles from relatives anymore, though this was an issue he was working with. According to recent developments, he wasn’t doing a very good job at this. His heart sunk as he was reminded of this.

”Odessa!” the man greeted back, large tail wagging behind him in good nature. Silver eyes leaped from mother to son, and he titled his face childishly at the child. ”Why hello, there!” Despite being monstrously large and dark, Pandemic did love children. It was a shame that many of them seemed so intimidated at first impressions. He could only work to change that initial uncertainty. ”That’s a pretty cloak you’ve got.” It seemed somewhat big to the kid, but children grew very fast. It wouldn’t be an issue for long. The man’s focus rose to Odessa again. ”How are things?” It was a general question.

Ankh peered up at his mother's cousin with interest, orange eyes flickering to his mother every step to ensure he was allowed to go near the big bear. Of course, despite never having seen a bear he was fairly sure he'd know one if he saw one, and that Pandemic wasn't, in fact, a bear. But he was close enough appearance wise to a bear for him to call him so, due to his inability to correctly pronounce 'Pandemic', though even Pan would have been do able. And the only reasons he knew of Pandemic was due to his mother's long 'family' lessons. Large, almost coyote like, ears swivelled to Pan's words and he shook his head comically after gazing at his cloaks. 'S'not! S'too big!' he called up loudly, his head tilting to the side.

'Uh. Good I suppose. After the hurricane I mean, that was difficult. And we've lost a lot of our plants, but everything should be fine' she explained softly, pumpkin eyes falling to Ankh. 'It was difficult, keeping him under wraps for days on end. Kids like being outside, you know'. It was something she learnt quick.

The child was right, but it didn’t know how temporary it would be. Someone as young as this one would not be able to see sense though, for age and size could never arrive fast enough. ”Don’t worry. Soon it’ll be too small for yeh!” Pandemic thought of his father, and how impatient he had been as a pup gazing up at Larkspur’s magnificent height. Now his old man was gone, and the son had taken over the role as Salsola’s giant. Other roles had eventually been replaced as well, but his dirty affair with Eris was not known. But perhaps she loved him wrongly because he looked so much like his sire. Pandemic wasn’t Larkspur, but they shared enough to make him a decent replacement, perhaps. He didn’t want to think like that.

The hurricane was a pleasant topic, pushing thoughts of corruption away from his consciousness. ”The hurricane took a toll on us all,” the man growled, though he was not one of those who had been hit the hardest. ”If you guys need any new saplings or seeds of some kind, I’m sure we can find something during our next Freetown trip.” Actually, dealing with the slave had given him satisfaction. And it had calmed his villain blood, if only for a while. Stormy gray eyes returned to the child as his mother added him to the topic. Strange, for Pandemic had been a child that had feared the outside. He’d been born into the dark caves of Anathema, and the sky had been so terribly tall. Yet, it had never swallowed him as he had feared.

”I preferred being inside, actually.” It wasn’t difficult to admit, now. ”When I was a kid, we didn’t live here; we lived underground in tunnels,” the man told the boy, his black tail dancing behind his large four-legged form. "I thought outside was a scary place."
