Strokes of Blush

Jordyn rested her head on her knees, and looked out to the snowy peaks of the mountains that bordered the land she was in. It was such a beautiful sight, and wondered what it would be like to journey that high off of the ground. A dieing river sat in front of her, who's water flowed in a droopy, and clumsy sort of way. She could almost picture an actual living being walking in such a way, and it made her chuckle.

The desolate landscape was a new sight for her. Long, and vast with such dry undergrowth. She knew it could only have been a fire that could do this amount of damage to the area. She hadn't been born to see it, and she was happy about that. Thoughts of burning trees, animals, and landscapes were not things that she would like to think about.

She didn't know if there was anyone she would be able to meet in such a desolate area. It didn't see like a big magnet for others of her kind. She had only come here to think. A lot had happened to her in the past couple days, and she just needed time to recuperate, although a little company couldn't hurt.

ooc: I stalked your character profile and thought we might be able to have some interesting tidings here. According to the date, X’yro has not found his sister in-game yet.

His search was endless, and the hurricane that ravaged Nova Scotia had only served as one more set back within an endless list of problems. How long had he been separated from X’ies? If not for the storms he would have found them by now… found both the ashy Lambda and the one who was once his sister… He suspected that their severance could not have been an accident. Of course X’ies would want to shake him and leave him to this unfamiliar land so he could find X’yrin and once again have her to himself. The worst of it was, the Lambda would have her attention regardless of whether X’yro was there or not. The thought made a low growl crackle in his throat.

Deft foot paws sloshed in the mud, each step making a sucking sound as he moved forward. This all truly was a miserable place. Amber eyes surveyed the waste around him, and by the look of the area some damage had been done here long ago that was not from the latest hurricane. Fire, no doubt. Luckily the ash had long ago washed away, though the place still seemed grey. It reminded him of the Lambda’s dingy coat.

X’yro was torn from his reverie when he saw a dark form moving before him. In the distance and black and white dog woman wandered, staring out with eyes that looked so far away, as though she was lost in deep contemplation – much like he had just been. Although he was sometimes a man of few words, X’yro was social, and he had been traveling alone for a long time. Besides, strangers were the best way to collect information. Maybe she knew something…

He let out a series of quick yips, letting her know he was there in case she’d yet to see the hulking autumn body in the expanse. A hand waved in greeting, and his tail twitched – not exactly in a buoyant wag but to show that he meant no harm. “You look as though you travel a weary road,” he observed cordially, not only speaking of the terrain around them but of her look. There was a possibility he misjudged her, though.

OOC here!

The air around the collie felt stiff, and chilly, and she hugged herself, both hands grasping the sides of her green hoodie. She crossed her legs, and sighed. The land was desolate alright, completely dead. Dust clouds formed in the light wind, and she joined the fun by sticking her toe in the sand, and pushing out from under it, sending more debris into the air. The dog watched it fly away, and eventually disappear. After the dust descended, she took out her pocket book, then titled it with the date, and her usual greeting. She described the landscape, and possibilities of what could have happened here, then looked for even deeper meanings to it. After going on and on about the landscape, she had a realization. Just a few days ago she had joined the Vinátta pack, and she hadn't even written it down. Her pen wrote scribbled the joys of being in a pack that welcomed her just like her mother had in her old pack as a pup.

It was moments later that she heard a yipping cry from a wolf. She turned around, dropping her pocket book in the dusty floor. What she saw was an almond colored wolf, with a ponytail. He waved kindly to her while approaching her. She smiled back, while bending over to pick up her pocket book. She brushed off the dirt on the cover, and snaked it back into her shoulder bag. After hearing him talk, she suddenly felt like she knew this man. "Yes, somewhere" she thought, then brought her attention back to the man. "Well, I would say weary...,"Jordyn started while looking off into the other direction at the landscape,"More misjudged."Jordyn looked at the man with uncertainty while she tried to remember where she had seen a man like this.
