aw.

The ground was wet, sodden with all the rain the summer’s later days had granted them. It seemed like the sky was either letting them have it, or cast in a dark daze threatening them with another down pour. It was always ready, and at a sour glance was happy to give her what she had stared to despise.

The night was young, though with the clouded sky gave her no notion of the moon’s position. She had lost track of it phase, and at late had taken to ignoring it altogether, sure that it would just be hiding. And at a night as unstable as this, it was a poor choice to venture out into the middle of the night, and just for a leisurely walk.

What was supposed to be a small jaunt to the shore line had turned into, a full sprint, her two legs taking her across the plain as fast as they allowed.

It started so quickly, without warning, or a warning she as whiling to acknowledge. The thunder's roar filled her ears while she hiked through the field, hand lightly touching the damp tall grasses. It's cry caused her to flinch, eyes shooting upward to see the lighting dance across the black sky.

Each step caused water to fly up from below her, she slogged through the grasses and out onto the beach. Unsure of what was better, and open field or the shoreline Anu continued to run until she found refuge. The structure was well hidden in the dark, but with the light cast by the storm it called to her like the beacon it had been built to be.

sidenote: also, I’m not sure if this is before or after CD formation…

They are in a lighthouse right? Yay for lighthouses.. PV has one too.. though I haven't posted the territory info for it yet.

DaVinci had been sitting on the old spiral staircase that wrapped along the inside of the Lighthouse and up towards the light deck that had long been retired. He'd been picking at the rust of the steps as the storm brewed. The boy had learned after being out to sea for so long when the storms were going to hit. His ears were ringing with the sound of the fury that was about to beat down on the coast. He'd been trying to figure out where in the world his wayward sister was. His conversation with Deuce had came to one point, they had to find the girl and rid her of the puppies before the birth of them was going to rid the world of her.

Suddenly his mind was brought out of the thoughts as the entrance came crashing open and a creamy grey figure was highlighted by the flash of lightning that rocked the building. His stormy hued eyes caught sight of her as the sound of the rains began to spatter on the world beyond them in the sheltered ancient beacon. He spoke softly, not really concerned by the interuption of his alone time. "Hello.." his voice was deep and low, almost dark yet there was nothing dark about the boy except his brooding nature at the moment.

lighthouse, yes!

She stood under the entranceway, her eyes trying to adjust to the darkness of the tower. Her breath was heavy and the fear that had been running threw her made her place a hand on her knee to steady herself. The storm crashed and boomed behind her, still making her flinch at the sound.

The second passed, allowing her to scan her eyes over the round building. It looked secure and steady, having experienced so many other and more furious storms. A hand stay against the lighthouse’s stonewall, keeping her balanced, as she timidly explored.

The voice came to her, right after a chorus of thunder an d a flash of light that shown through the arched door way. She hadn’t noticed that he stood there, his figure looking like nothing more then ghost. His grey coloring blended against the dark atmosphere.

He scared her, taking her heavy breath away in a flash. Eyes staring she didn’t know if he was real or just a shadow, or a specter searching for a soul to steal. She sqinted, searching in the dark and hoping that it was just another wolf looking for a haven from the storm.

“Ah, hello?” her voice was quiet and unsure. It was crazy to see ghosts, and even more insane to talk to them.

His rainstorm orbs watched her softly as she finally had taken notice to him, the fright that he'd given her was apparent at the gasp that flashed in that instant and the silence that followed until she spoke. Her words seemed uncertain as she answered his greeting. His fingers curled around the pocket knife he'd been using to scrape away at the rust of the ironcast stairs he rested upon.

Leaning back he smiled at the woman, the dull glitter of the blade in his hand as it clicked softly against the metal of the wroth railing as he watched her, utterly relaxed in the space where he knew she was not. "Boo." was the only word he said, the damp scent of her fur seeming to blossom in the enclosed space, yet the scent that reached him was mingled with one he knew well.

Raising a brow at the oddity of it all he smirked and wondered just how long it would be before the lady excused herself back out into the dark damp world she'd just escaped from. "Are you afraid of the dark?" he asked softly, wondering just who this little lady he'd happened upon was.

Moments passed, and she adjusted to the dank and dark world within the lighthouse. Eyes wandered up, over the staircase and into the even darker abyss above them. The clicking noise of his movements was all that could be heard, until he spoke. The words brought her eyes back to him swiftly, trying to make out what he held. A weapon of course, Anu hated such devices, and instantly she began to worry. Her mind tried to calm herself, not all wielding beasts where violent ones and there were many other used for the tools then just for sadistic actions.

His voice was grave, but the conditions within the tower were much better then out of it. He made her cautious, but did not make her step outside. Taking another slow breath she mustered up the courage, now able to see him fully, and addressed him with more confidence. “Of course not.” He had only been teasing of course. How could a full grow wolf be frightened of the dark. She let her voice hold the air of laughter.

“Just wasn’t expecting to find anyone here, that’s all.” She brushed some of the water that had accumulated off her arm, attempting to warm and comfort herself at the same time. Looking over him she couldn’t help but notice his coyote appearance. She fought to find the Inferni scent on him, but thankfully did not. Though, in her experiences, those wolves were not anymore hostile then she was.

“I’m Anu. "She hoped that if she set the bar to pleasant, he would feel obligated to meet it.

With one loud snap he switched the blade and closed it in a heartbeat and even quicker flicked it open once more. Leaning forward as her eyes seemed to search the male he smiled that dark little smirk that had graced his lips since his childhood as the brat prince. Those silvery bangs fell across his moody eyes as he studied the woman studying him, his mind wondering just why the lady's scent mingled so close to his sisters yet he didn't have will to ask, not just yet. He didn't want to know if Naniko knew happiness when it was so hard for him to even find middle ground in this world.

His eyes turned away as she began to finally come back to life, building up all she needed to answer his question. The switch and flash of the butterfly knife a constant blur and distranction as her words filled the void. When she gave the excuse of not expecting anyone in the building he rolled his head to gaze at her as he spoke. "Yes, but there's always unseen dangers in the dark.." he said with a bored grin.

When she offered a name he scoffled at the idea of such manners in greeting as he opened the blade again with a flick of his wrist. "Yeah, and I'm nobody.." he muttered. Dark thoughts were lingering in his head. There was a clan member out there that needed his name branded on his flesh and he intended to find and make that happen. He had a right to it, atleast by his own laws he did. Samuel had taken something from Firefly, DaVinci would take what he pleased from the bastard in the clan. Those cloudy orbs flashed back to the woman as he gave a false smile to the girl.

Did he truly need to torment her with the threat of the blade? She watched it as he opened and closed it. She didn’t even think she would get used to, or understand why wolves needed to carry around such tools. Settling herself again the cold wall, she stood at an angle. If the blade slipped, she wouldn’t be in its path

His words were chilling, the truth, but still slightly disturbing. The storm reminded her why she was still there, suddenly at the point where she would happily leave him to his sullen mood. But the thought of the rain, the thunder and lightening kept her in her place.

It was probably the storm that made him so upset, the dull evening and the furious night could make any beast depressed. It was her nature to want to understand why he was so apparently upset. He watched him, convincing herself that he wasn’t out to be one of those unseen dangers lurking in the shadows.

“Its hard to believe that your, ‘nobody’. You look like somebody to me.” Her words were matter of fact, but she didn’t meet his smile, understanding that it was phony. Her face was calm and smooth, even it she didn’t smile it was obvious that she was being honestly pleasant.
