_____With a full belly of food, Tawodi had fled Phoenix Valley with one task accomplished in mind. He should have had a bigger reason to fear the packs that seemed to be around, given what the last set of Luperci had done to Aniwaya, but he put much trust into his leader's decisions. If this was truly the place that they were to set up home, then he would surely live by the morals that had been ingrained in him by the others. So far, he hadn't found any founded reasons to distrust the wolves that were around, though one wolf from one pack hardly spoke volumes about the others around.

_____However, the thoughts about who he should have trusted and who he shouldn't have trusted didn't matter at all, at least not in the present moment. He had just crested a small rocky outcropping to figure out why there was such a pungent smell in the air—distinctly salty—when the world spit up the biggest body of water that Usdi Tawodi had ever seen. At five months of age, he had seen a lot of things, but the ocean was one that he had never taken in before. His jaw fell agape, gold eyes widened to the point of him seeming more bug-eyed than anything, and his breath caught in his throat. Underneath the clear sky with the sun shining down, the ocean was a body of water lined with diamonds.

_____Without so much as another second, he bounded down from the grassy knoll he was on and across the sand, paying no attention to anyone that could have been around. For as something as big as an ocean, it had to be played in! Just where the waves began to meet the shore, he leapt, going airborne over a crashing wave and landing with a haphazardly splash. But the second he hit the water, everything changed. A yelp and a jump backward followed by some serious back peddling onto dry land let him breathless all over again: that water was bloody cold!

shit post, sorry... But I've gotten a laptop to use now \o/

Amused, Dawali chuckled while watching the younger member of his tribe struggle with his encounter of the water body. Tawodi was still young, and as young ones were, he was amusing to watch when exploring new items. But, Dawali himself had not seen the ocean before either, although he knew what it was. Others he had met, occasional travelers, had told of the ocean; a seemingly unending lake, blue meeting blue in the horizon. It was beautiful, yet massive. Suddenly Dawali realised the true bravery that those who traveled the ocean had in them.

He had not followed as a stalker; the intention of revealing himself had always been there. Tawodi was simply younger and less slow than him. He'd been walking around, taking in the areas around him, when he picked up the scent of the young one. It'd made him wonder what he was doing out here on his own, so he figured he'd follow. Dawali wasn't one of those who were best at communicating with the younger members, including his daughters. Gvihita sat on his shoulder, invisible to others than him, as he took a step forward and gave away his presence.

Hiya there Tawodi!

_____A shiver ran the length of his body as he shook the salty water from his coat, slackjawed from both the taste, overpowering smell, temperature, and the burn of the water in his golden eyes. It was also at that opportune moment that Dawali made himself present in his immediately surroundings. Composing himself despite the chill that now ran from one end of his body to the other, the boy approached the older man with a well-mannered wag of his tail, wondering if he had seen such an embarrassing display as he had. Probably, knowing Tawodi's luck, but he at least doubted that he would get reprimanded for being out there alone and playing around in the water. Such things had become less and less the older that he had become.

_____“Hey,” he breathed out, glancing upward. “The water's really cold here, you know that?” Just to go right along with it, he couldn't help but shiver again, deciding to give that ocean once more menacing glare for chilling him right down to the bone. It was worse than a cold rain, he was perfectly convinced! “What're you doin’ way out here, anyway?” became his next question, though it could have been easily turned around on him. He had run ahead of some of them, after all. Technically that was something he probably shouldn't have done, but Ayegali seemed pleased that he had come in one piece. Survivor mentality, maybe?

^^

The young one looked as if he had been caught doing something embarrassing, though Dawali would not judge. The greatness of the water in front of him tempted him to do just as Tawodi had done, and he didn't doubt for a second that the water was cold. It was obvious, the way Tawodi was shaking, and larger masses of water had a tendency to be colder than smaller ones. Had it been any other than Dawali that stumbled upon him, though, the scene could have been different. Some older members of the tribe seemed to like to tell others what to do (or in particular what not to do), especially the young ones, but personally Dawali did not see the point in it. They would learn one way or another - like his daughters had and continued to do - mostly by watching others and interacting with them. Things came naturally, Dawali always thought, and the most important lessons were best learnt by exploring them instead of having them fed to you by some other person's words.

Chuckling again, loud enough for the younger male to hear him this time, was his way of agreeing with the other's mention of the temperature; obviously it was cold - the poor thing was shaking! Though, when it came to why he was here, there was no particular reason. For a little moment his head bent back and yellow eyes sought out the shape of Gvihita soaring in circles above his head. They'd just been walking about, really. I was just looking around. You know, for fun. Because he often chose to be silent - words are not always needed - his sentences when he first spoke were often clumsy. Many saw him as a little stupid, but those few that knew him well knew otherwise. He wasn't particularly bright either, just around average.

_____When Dawali peered upward, Tawodi did as well for a moment, though as the older man went on speaking, his attention snapped back to listen to him. He wasn't really a man of many words and while Tawodi was quite used to this, it seemed like any other time they had ever crossed paths there hadn't been much in the way of conversation. At times this led the boy to wonder if he was looked down upon, but it didn't deter him from firing off another question. “Did you see anything cool?” He probably had, but it would end up something that little boys weren't supposed to see or find or something like that. It was kind of answer he usually expected. “What do you think of this place?” became his next question, wondering if the apprehension he found in their new settings was shared or not. It was pretty, it was interesting, and it was full of interesting people too, but was it right? Was this the place that they were going to set up home after so many months of travel?
