the beacon of light in your dark nightmare.

(!@#$%)A gust of wind--seemingly conjured up at the whim of some god from nothingness--whipped against the towering structure. Anselm's ears twitched slightly as the metal creaked and groaned in protest and he shifted slightly in his seat once the skies and water calmed once more. It was midday and the heavens were decorated with puffy cumulus clouds against a crystal blue backdrop. The clouds were spaced far enough apart that their individual shapes could be recognised, although those shapes perpetually shifted and morphed. Some would swirl about before disintegrating entirely and they all moved fairly quickly across the sky. At the very least, their movement was noticeable to him.

(!@#$%)Up at the very top of the lighthouse he sat, fully shifted with his legs dangling over the edge. His arms either rested on the beams of fence in front of him or were propped up behind him to support his weight; sometimes he'd lay back entirely and stare straight up into the sky. This was a strange place, he'd decided. It was bizarre how solitary it was--one structure reaching up from the ocean to the sky, one huge mass of water all around, etc. The drone of the waves quickly faded into the background and the only other sounds were the cries of the gulls, which could also be ignored. What a strange place, and what a strange way to spend the day just sitting there, lost in himself...

It had been too long since she'd actually taken a stroll on the beach all by herself enjoying the crash of the waves and the whispering of the winds. The silver and gold lady had spent far to much time within the packlands and concentrating on not worrying her life away. The winds whipped through her wavy locks as she turned her baby blue orbs towards the ocean. It had been forever since she'd actually taken the time to shear off her locks, she wondered slightly if the look she'd sported for so long would ever be worn again but at this point she really wasn't sure if she cared.

A sigh fell from her lips as she watched the foam rolling on the waves come to a hault on the sands before dragging the soft substance back into the sea likea a preditor at it's prey. Her eyes roamed the ocean for a while before she tilted her head, those sad eyes falling upon the sight of the eerie lighthouse, so unlike the one that resided inside Phoenix Valley's own lands. She stopped there a moment with her head tilted to the side as she realized that there was another on the beach she believed to be deserted.

She stared up at the fellow along the walkway of the platform, not sure what exactly to do. Iskata narrowed her eyes as she watched the fellow, curious as to who exactly it was but not curious enough to explore the building before her. There was little she could really do for now except scream at the fellow up above and she wasn't for certain that she wanted to do that at all. She knew that he could see her from up there, she wondered if she just kept moving on if this moment would just pass both them by and nothing would be said.. but she was still lonely on the beachfront too. How she hated to be divided in her thoughts.

(!@#$%)The presence of another quickly snapped him out of his introspective thoughts. Two red eyes blinked down at Iskata and he felt the hair along the back of his neck rise. Anselm never forgot a face, especially one he'd met in battle. Their first and only encounter, then, had been a bad one... and he certainly didn't want to deal with this now. He'd been largely avoiding both her and her pack--did she really have to come bother him? Inferni didn't need any more trouble. Maybe that was what aggravated the formerly solitary male all the more. Since when did he have to make decisions based on the well being of an entire group? It'd be nice to think that their differences could remain theirs alone, but as leaders, they would be opening a whole new can of worms for everybody if they fought today.

(!@#$%)Anselm would have none of it. He didn't move or give any other indication that he saw her. His hackles settled and he snorted lightly to himself. Instead of looking her way, he simply stared straight ahead of his face into the sky and sea until they hybridised into some kind of blurry blue medium. No eye contact made the message pretty clear: I want nothing to do with you. Meanwhile, he tried to figure out exactly what he'd do if she decided to corner him by climbing up the lighthouse. He wasn't necessarily concerned about his safety, then, as much as being forced to communicate or do battle. He resolved, then, to push past her on the defensive and leave immediately if she couldn't keep her nose to herself.

She was still standing on the beach alone with the watcher high overhead. She had a million thoughts wondering through her mind as she watched the waves, trying to ignore the figure high overhead but knowing that he was there was too much. The bitch was curious and when curiousity took over she had to follow where it pleased. Tilting her head up to catch sight of the figure from the corner of her eye she gave up and gave in. She knew he'd seen her and she'd seen him, she didn't want to seem rude and she was still lonely for company, though she'd never admit it to another's face.

She turned and walked towards the strange building, there had been one like it in the old territories and Phoenix Valley claimed one as well within their packlands but something about the icon frame of the one before her made her slightly uneasy. She moved step by step up the stairway, the scent of Inferni meeting her nose, making her wonder if it belonged to the male she had been looking for, if only to break the news before never seeing his face again, but she figured she couldn't be so lucky. The winding steps brought her closer to the top but she didn't move on past the darkness on the stairs out into the open light. "Hey..." She called out softly, the next words out of her maw would have made her laugh bitterly if she'd seen who she was making the promise to. "I'm not here to fight.. I'm.. just looking for someone.."

The matriarch of Phoenix Valley was past the blows they'd dealt upon one another so long ago, she knew she shouldn't have snapped at the male but Gabriel had more than pissed her off time and time again that season with his controling hand over her friend and she'd stepped clearly over the line when she'd given Haku the chance to escape from the wrath he'd rightly deserved at the leader's hand. There was too much irony between the two and she didn't even know his name, but she owned him a lot and he didn't even know it, atleast he hadn't killed her daughter in the war, even if he couldn't have protected her every moment of every day.
