Phoenix, then later on Gabe. This post is crappy, they'll be better afterwards! xD

indentThe Loony Luna was still low to the earth, she had awoke early this morning and hunted for herself before heading off to the Place of Lightning and Thunder. She promised to visit Phoenix more often, and with her time being eaten up by all of the children running about the Land of Wuffluvers and so few adults. It was strange being out of the territory. She was not used to a little bit of freedom. Faol skipped down the street, heading towards the library, Phoenix in tow. Red eyes drifted behind her, a small grin placed across her face. She tossed her red bangs out of her face and skipped along down the street.

indentShe stopped for a moment, and looked back at Phoenix. "The library is right up ahead. I haven't gotten a chance to really search through it because it was dark by the time I found it last time. I hadn't had any other chances since. There's a huge fireplace though! We can start a fire! It's getting kind of cold out anyway!" she grinned happily, tail wagging back and forth behind her. There was a fireplace in the the Land of Wuffluvers house and Faolin was going to start going out and collecting wood. She had seen many pictures in books of humans cutting down trees to burn the wood to keep the fire going.

indentIt was still quite early in the day, mid-morning. They had traveled swiftly to reach their destination. She leapt up the steps in a couple bounds, the Library was enormous. It had awed her in such a way she could not explain. She waited for Phoenix at the door, running her fingers over the finely ingrained wood.

He hid it, but in the back of his mind Phoenix couldn’t help but feel that this was a bad idea somehow. As an Omega he needed to be there for his pack lest anybody need him. And he was still reeling from the loss of his daughter; any spare time, he felt, should be used to search for his daughter… no matter how futile that search was. It was obvious she was no longer in the valley. But instead of doing the responsible thing, here he was in the human city… with a member of the Land of Wuffluvers, no less. His dealings with their leader (who happened to be Faolin’s mate) and the looming threat of war only added to his burden of stress.

What he needed right now more than anything was a friend to help him get his mind of his troubles. Iskata was his soulmate and confidant, but she too was devastated by the disappearance of their daughter and instead of turning to him for comfort she had pushed him away, as she was prone to doing sometimes. He didn’t want to impose on Vegetarian Shark and Deirdre’s happiness in their newfound mateship. And Wannabe Pirate… well, something weird was going on with her, and Phoenix didn’t feel comfortable going to her for the time being. So, Faolin it was, though he didn’t think she could understand the horror of losing a child despite all that she herself had been through. Fortunately he didn’t need her to understand; he just needed her to cheer him up a bit (if that was at all possible).

The library was an intimidating building, not just for its size but for what it represented: a talent that Phoenix had always wanted to master but always had trouble doing so. It didn’t help that he had taken lessons from three or four different canines. Before climbing up the steps Phoenix paused to make the final shift from halfling to optime form. Once back on two legs the massive coyote hesitantly mounted the steps, two or three at a time. “You sure that’s a good idea?” he asked his friend as he opened the door for her. “Seems like a lotta work if we’re jus’ visitin’.”

The cold never really bothered him, but he didn’t know if it did Faolin or not. “If y’get cold, mebbe we could jus’ sit close t’gether, eh? I’ll keep y’warm.” There was no innuendo in his suggestion, no ulterior motive. They had spent a night together once without anything happening, and that was long before they found mates of their own. Truthfully Phoenix didn’t feel attractions toward coyotes, and the close (almost sibling-like) relationship between them made her even further off limits.

I <3 Phoenix. Hehe.

indentShe had tried to reassure him that nothing would happen to his pack while she was gone. They had strong, able bodied wolves in the Place of Lightning and Thunder, so why couldn't they hold off on their own for a few hours. Phoenix needed the break, she could feel his stress pulsing through her own blood, and she did not need to be an empath to feel that, unfortunately. He was so worried about his daughter gone missing, and Faolin had hoped maybe she had somehow made it here. The girl had also put out that maybe she could be in the city and that on their way here they could do some searching around and possibly find her. Although, that little hope she had left for Phoenix was dwindling her thoughts quickly turned back to when Hybrid was younger, and he disappeared for quite a while, only to follow her back after she had killed their father. He had survived. Maybe someone adopted her too?

indentFao' did not care if Phoenix wanted to confide in her or not. She just wanted to make sure he knew she was there for him when and if he would need her. She knew the toll the stress of being a leader came out on Gabriel and she tried to help him as best as she could. Shaking her head, Faolin smiled at Phoenix and watched as he quickly bounded up the steps to her side. He was much bigger than she was. Faolin was small, she was short and her physique was muscular, but not to the point where she had muscles bulging out everywhere. She felt like a puppy next to a big adult when she stood next to Phoenix.

indentFaolin nodded at his idea. "Yeah, I guess we could," she placed her hand on the handle for the door and yanked it open. The hinges on the large door creaked and groaned. The library she guessed was seldom used by wolves as much as it had been by humans. She stepped in before Phoenix to have a quick look around. It was as much the same as it had always been, she had not been here in a few weeks. Dust was settled everywhere, as she walked through she kicked up a bit in places. Her tail brushed back and forth behind her, excited to finally come here like they had planned what seemed like AGES ago.

indentFaolin turned around to watch Phoenix come through the door behind her. "It's beautiful! Where should we start? We could pick a couple and I could read them out loud, then we can pick a few easier books for you to read to me. We have all day remember!" She tilted her head to the side in question. Her over-sized ears perked up high on her head. She brushed her hair out of her face and turned back around to look at the library, a finger held up to her lips and her other arm crossed over her chest. Where to start, she thought.

Well, I’m glad someone does. Wink

In the back of his mind Phoenix flashed through a conversation he’d had with Skoll after meeting Gabriel. Hopefully a war would never happen—and it seemed unlikely, considering how greatly the Place of Lightning and Thunder outnumbered the coyotes right now—but Phoenix couldn’t keep pessimistic thoughts from crossing his mind. Faolin was the only member of the Land of Wuffluvers he could trust, and perhaps that would come to his advantage someday. That was the only thing that allowed him to go with her at a time like this, since he knew she couldn’t be drawing him away from his pack as a diversion while the rest of her clan struck. He didn’t expect her to ever betray her clan, nor did he plan to use her in such a way, but he hoped that their friendship would count for something if the Land of Wuffluvers ever decided to attack his pack. At the very least, she could stay out of it or even warn him.

Phoenix coughed a bit when his lungs and throat protested the unnatural accumulation of dust particles in the man-made environment. He had never been inside before and didn’t know what to expect. The place looked even bigger inside than it did on the outside, and Phoenix couldn’t help but pause just to stare at the rows and rows of books in awe. Had the human world really contained this much knowledge and information? They were a confounding race, indeed. “Y’think a race this smart woulda known better than t’kill themselves off,” he pondered aloud. Finally he shrugged, returning his full attention to his companion. “But I guess there really is a difference between knowledge an’ wisdom.”

The sight of Faolin so deep in her element, arms crossed in thought, caused Phoenix to chuckle a bit. Even if he wasn’t attracted to dog females there was something about her that seemed… cute, in the cuddely-wuddely sort of way. Maybe it was her absurdly large ears, or the fact that she was half his size. He would never actually insult her with the observation, though. Stepping up behind her, he playfully ruffled her hair. “I’ll let you pick ‘em out, an’ you c’n go first. That way I can watch you an’ learn. Mebbe we c’n even find a book about what we can do while we’re here.” He still hadn’t given up hope for learning what caused their anomalous psychic abilities, even if it no longer worried him as much.

Haha, who couldn't!?

indentIf it had ever come down to the Land of Wuffluvers and the Place of Lightning and Thunder going to war with one another, she would have been stuck on what to do. She loved the Land of Wuffluvers, and it had been 127.0.0.1 for almost ever, but the Place of Lightning and Thunder had so many wolves that she respected. There was Wannabe Pirate, Phoenix, Iskata and her puppies, and Tamerlane. She was not really sure, but Segodi had managed to keep a good friendship between the two when the previous alphas were there. If it had ever come down to war, Faolin would do anything in her power to stop Gabriel. She would be too pulled by both ends and would have no heart to participate in it. Unless it was to kill Skoll. He had hurt Gabriel and many of the youth in their pack. She would never forgive him, and if she had ever gotten the chance, she would hurt him or give a few nasty words.

indentPhoenix made up for the brother she did not really have. Hybrid was her brother by blood, but they did not have a relationship like her and Phoenix had. He was like her big brother, she never thought of him in any other way. It would be so awkward if they ended up in some position like that, she was not sure what she would do. She laughed at the idea, and a moment later felt his hands on her head. She pouted and whipped around, but could not help but let a giggle escape. "That's not very nice!" she growled playfully, she shook her hair back and forth and let it settle back around her face. She stuck her tongue out at him and turned around and skipped along playfully along the stacks of books.

indentFaolin ran her fingers along a couple of books as she walked down one of the aisles. A book caught her interest and she pulled it out because it had a picture of a coyote on it. She opened it up and quickly scanned the pages, there were many pictures of wolves and coyotes and so on. It seemed to be filled with information. "They sure were bright, but common sense, not so much," she laughed, grabbing a couple more of these books that seemed filled with information on the entire canine species. There were different things such as food, habitats, mating and even more. Things that did not seem to be true anymore. There was a section in a couple of them of fictional stories of man shifting into werewolves, they were quite amusing. Too bad the stories weren't fiction, and this was actually how they had managed to kill themselves off so fast.

indentAfter finding a couple of these books that interested her, Fao' skipped back over to the coach that was on the far side of the room, a large window that had a painting on it of flowers and some other stuff she did not pay attention to. She sat down and patted the coach with her hand. "Come sit! I have books that humans wrote on wolves and such, seems quite interesting and we can laugh at them," she giggled childishly, waiting for Phoenix to come over before she started reading.

Heh, might be a funny-awkward moment if they came across a pic of wolves mating in one of those books. Canine p0rn!

There were few canines that Phoenix could truly loosen up around. Perhaps only Faolin, outside his family. She understood him better than most by virtue of their psychic experiences together. It had just taken five minutes for them to learn each others’ life stories, temperaments, and habits. Only Iskata knew Phoenix better than Faolin, despite her initial resistance to opening up minds with him. Granted, there were things that they could only learn and grow accustomed to the regular, one-on-one way, but for the most part their relationship flew in the face of logic. And perhaps it was better that way—it certainly made things more interesting. Faolin certainly made him feel like less of a freak.

He would have enjoyed to continue the game (especially when she stuck her tongue out at him) but before he could antagonize her further she was off behind one of the many shelves of books. By the time he’d caught up with her she already had a couple books in hand, many with wolves on the cover. Well, this ought to be interesting. Phoenix always enjoyed seeing how others’ perceived him and getting another species’ view of his own was along the same lines. Even if they got everything wrong it would still be funny. Not many wolves held humans in high regard so he didn’t expect them to exactly laud the virtues of his kind.

Accepting her invitation, Phoenix lowered himself onto the coach next to her carefully. He was bigger than most humans and more than once had their more fragile seats collapsed under his weight. He didn’t want Faolin to get hurt because he was too big for his own good, but when the couch made no groaning sounds of protest he smiled and brought his legs up with him, curling them upin front of him. With one arm he pulled the small female right up beside him until their were touching, so she wouldn’t have to worry about getting cold and he could look over her shoulder without having to crane his neck at an uncomfortable angle. “Which one y’wanna start with?” he asked.

Gabriel could come in after this maybeh!?

indentShe wondered what any other _wolf or _coyote would think if they walked in right now on the two of them. It would be strange and hard to explain, but other than that she did not really think about the idea. It was a rare occurrence to run into anyone else down here. Especially in the library of all places. Most of the species could not read, and it's not like with winter on the way anybody would be thinking about grabbing a book and reading. She started to feel a bit bad about neglecting her pack duties. She could be hunting right now, small game even. Anything to help out.

indentWhen Phoenix settled down and wrapped his arm around her the girl did not feel strange to the touch at all and in fact leaned right into him. She cuddled up right against the hulking male. To Faol, Phoenix reminded her of one of those big bears in children books who were all good and cuddly and would not rip your face off. Instead they tried to help, or some little girl at their porridge and they did nothing to her. Instead, they just let her sleep in their beds! She shook her head at the idea, not understanding the human logic of things and was starting to think about what they thought of wolves.

indentShe looked back and forth from all the books and picked out a particular one with a picture that had caught her eye. There were two wolves on the front, then smaller images all around it. Statues and drawings of.. werewolves? She flipped open the book to the index and ran her finger down the list of stuff, skipping over a couple titles she did not deem all too important. "Legends, habitat, food and hunting, pack life, family..." she mumbled under her breath until one made her squeak like a childish school-girl. "MATING!? Why the hell would they want to know about our sex lives? Like, seriously!" she burst out laughing at the thought and opened up to the first page, which seemed to be an introduction to the book and explaining what type of family wolves belonged to and their appearance. Well, were they ever wrong on a couple parts.

indent It had not particularly concerned Gabriel that Faolin was in the city. He did not feel the need to restrict her freedom, and he doubted she would get herself into trouble. Of course, this ideology changed when he came across a scent he had just managed to give a name to. Phoenix; alpha of Storm. Furrowing his brows and dropping his body low, the young man soon found that the scents were entangled. Suspicion was bred into his blood, and his immediate thought was danger. On two legs, he trailed the scent, moving in a timely manner. If she was in trouble, she would think to call for help—and he had not heard anything out of the ordinary for hours.
indent Soon enough, the scents led him to a door. It opened without much effort, and the yellow-eyed hybrid moved on quietly. He had long ago learned to walk softly. Ahead of him, there were noises; a girlish giggle (Faolin), the faint noise of springs, a masculine tone. Gabriel froze in his tracks. The suspicion turned into anger and it began to rise in his blood, filling him with a burning sensation. Another feminine laugh and his lips pulled back, baring ivory fangs that had been cut on the throats of more wolves then he would ever admit. There was madness in his blood, murder in his blood, hatred in his blood. Reason left him in the face of a sudden impasse—and suddenly his mother was screaming in his head. FINDHIMKILLHIMKILLKILLKILL
indent And as if a spark had suddenly sent him into life, Gabriel moved like quicksilver. He was upon the two in an instant, a flash of goldenrod and near-black, yellow eyes burning, voice a terrible roar. There were no words, but the message was clear. One arm pushed Faolin away, the other went for the male. He’d destroy him and his empire if that was what it took. No man had right to lay his hands, his scent on her.

Slight powerplay with Faol, hope you don’t mind.

Surprise hit the massive male when the subject of mating was brought up, but as soon as the thought registered he joined Faolin in giggling like a prepubescent child. Humans were incredibly strange creatures, without a doubt. He had half a mind to open the book up to that section and see what they said… but he didn’t want to risk coming across any dirty pictures, and ruin their innocent fun with an the awkward moment that would cause. Of course, he was a male, and it would be a lie to say he had never thought about sex while in Faolin’s company… but he had never really associated sex with her, and they both consciously tried to avoid such memories while inside each others’ heads in an unspoken agreement.

Phoenix leaned in to take a better look at the book and see if he could spot any words that he recognized, but before he had a chance to do so something leapt open them. Caught off-guard, genuine fear ripped across Phoenix’s eyes as he looked up and saw Gabriel reaching for him. Time seemed to slow as the other’s roar triggered a surge of adrenaline. His first thought was that he’d betrayed and set up, but a stolen glance at Faolin quickly wiped away such thoughts. She seemed just as surprised as he, perhaps even more so. Of course, she probably thought of Gabriel as a good soul. However, Phoenix had no such delusions about the citizens of Inferni (excluding Faolin, of course).

Automatically Phoenix tried to avoid his attacker, but up until now he was acting on pure reflex. Now his mind finally switched to fight mode and took over. “Murdering lowlife!” he snarled hatefully, rolling off the couch. If he stayed there Gabriel could pin him down too easily, and Faolin could get hurt by their scuffle. Phoenix didn’t want to kill Gabriel, to sink down to his level, but he wasn’t going to let himself die, to deprive his children of a father, just to keep from harming the leader of Inferni. Grabbing the arm that had just a second ago been reaching for him, Phoenix took a deep hard bite into the flesh.

--

indentIt took her a couple seconds to figure out what was going on. First she had scented Gabriel, but she thought it was just his scent still on her. She had not realized it was him in the door before he came barging through it. Startled she stared at him eyes wide and scared, was she doing something wrong? Then she realized he must have been following her for a while. Phoenix was like a brother to her, but he did not understand that. She had never taken the time to explain that too him. The connection they had, everything they had in common. Gabriel was the love of her life and she did not want him to think so lowly of her.

indentBut, he had pushed her out of the way. She slipped on the wooden floor and fell to the ground, staring up at him dumbfounded then looking at Phoenix scared. She tried to tap into his mind and explain this was not any sort of ambush, because he had thrown an accusing glare. Faolin knew that he realized just how much of a surprise this had been for her. There was a bit of hostility between the two packs, would this lead to some kind of war? That was the worst thing she feared at the moment. There were so many nice wolves in Storm, what could she do though?

indentFaolin leaped to her feet quickly and tried to throw herself onto Gabriel's back to peel him off Phoenix, but it was too no avail. The two of them tumbled out of the way and the Mogotsi child could only stare at the two of them, fear gripping her heart. She did not want either of them hurt, not because of something stupid she had done. "GABRIEL! Please! Stop! For me. I SWEAR TO GOD THERE IS NOTHING BETWEEN US," she started to cry and fell to her knees as she watched the two of them, Gabriel trying to hurt Phoenix while Phoenix tried to defend himself. They were both much bigger than she was and she would not make a difference. She could only watch through her blurred vision in horror at what she had caused.

indent The first time Gabriel had killed a wolf, he had been a boy. The stranger had slaughtered his adoptive-mother in cold blood, over food. The drought had left them all half-starved, half-mad. He had not been aware of the conscious thought to kill, only that it had to happen. They had fought, but it was the hybrid who had won. Back when, he had not held the same shape he did now—his body was still small, still more coyote-like. It had been that blood which won the day, the blood of his mother and her family that had drugged him on and forced that revenge. Since then, he had stopped considering personalities and the weight of lives. If someone was his opponent, if someone was his obstacle, if someone was his target, he would kill them.

indent Teeth connected with his skin, broke through the flesh, and it was now Storm’s leader who had drawn first blood. Gabriel snarled viciously, twisting his head and aiming for the throat. The other hand moved in time, aiming for an opening—it found one in the larger male’s arm, and sunk in like a vice. Vaguely, he was aware of Faolin on his back, but she was gone, then she was screaming. Gabriel did not hear; his head was buzzing as though a thousand hornets were in his skull. Kaena’s voice was still screaming, still urging him on. This was how it had to be.

The rest of the world melted away into a blur as Gabriel became the only thing he thought on. He could not afford any distractions, not even Faol who was tugging on a corner of his mind. Being the stronger of the two psychics, he easily shrugged her off and returned his attention to her crazed mate. He knew this wasn’t her fault simply by looking into her eyes. He did not blame her; this was all Gabriel. Faolin’s voice broke through the sounds of the two males’ snarlings but he didn’t bother to decipher what she was saying. Most likely she was begging Gabriel to stop, but Phoenix wondered if the Inferni male was doing this out of any motive at all.

Phoenix wouldn’t be surprised if he was just some random target simply because the son of Kaena was in a killing mood. If that was the case, then Phoenix would be doing the world a favor by putting him down. If only he’d had time for a few more lessons from Skoll in self-defense before this had happened, but already the skills he’d learned from his last two visits with the older wolf were coming in handy. As things stood Phoenix was doing a bang-up job of defending himself. He recognized pain in his arm but his reaction was more one of detached observation; he had enough experience with pain to overcome his fear of it long ago.

His limbs were relatively unimportant, really. Sure, Phoenix didn’t want to lose them, but he would rather they take the brunt of his foe’s fury than his real vital spot, his throat. And it was obvious that Gabriel was aiming just for that spot. Phoenix knew he was dealing with someone much more experienced in the “art” of fighting than him, but he was no total stranger to fighting—or killing—either. His size and strength was his only real advantage in this battle. Snarling with indignation and pure loathing, Phoenix somehow managed to curl his legs up into a fetal position and get them underneath his foe. With a roar, he shut his eyes and kicked his legs out with all his strength, but the best he hoped for was to knock Gabriel away long enough to get back on his feet. He had never tried a stunt like this before and didn’t know how effective it would be.

I won't be on the computer tomorrow, I don't think anyway. So, if you guys have the chance to post a couple times, go straight ahead, there is not much Faolin can do at the moment. xD

indentFear coursed through her blood and this fear-scent filled the air. She backed away from the two males on her hands and knees, tears falling down her cheeks and dripping onto the floor. Red eyes stared up at the two, fighting with each other, trying to gain the advantage. There was not any vital harm done yet and so she could only sit and wait. Her mind disappeared into old memories trying to fight a losing battle with her father. She had been so young and he had taken so much from her. The chills she was receiving now shook her to the bone and she could only sit and shake, waiting for them to stop.

indentTheir growls filled the air her hand quickly flew to the air and she squeezed her eyes shut. Phoenix kept pushing her out of his mind, so all she could do was sit and wait. What had she done? It was her fault one or the other would probably wind up dead if they did not stop soon. The emotions coursing through Gabriel was too much for Faolin to handle and she bit her tongue not trying to scream. The mixed emotions between the three of them was too much. She panted and she had to bring her hands away from her ears so she could brace herself on the floor. Finally, it was too much, she screamed at the top of her lungs, nothing audible, she just needed to let the emotions out.

indentIt was too much.

indent Motive was a fanatic thing. Gabriel was driven by rage—that a strange man might dare lay his hands on the woman he loved. That perhaps this was planned, that Phoenix was using Faolin to get to him. Superficial ideas coursed through his mind, each one loosing gravity as the need to kill grew stronger. He wasn’t thinking anymore. This was mechanical. He heard Faolin scream, but was unable to comprehend why. It was white noise, masqueraded in his skull by the same buzzing, same screaming he could not escape. It was in his blood.

indent His teeth snapped shut on fur, but before he had a chance to again go for the throat, he felt feet connect with his abdomen. A frantic panic set in as he was sent flying backwards, through the air. Sharp pain shot up his back as he collided with a bookcase, ricocheting through the old wound in his shoulder. The third law of motion held true; books came tumbling down onto his head and his body, each one heavy and large and worthless. Gabriel let out a doggish yowl, moving his hands up to protect his head.

Keeping from distraction was not his only reason for pushing Faol out of his mind. He was trying to protect both himself and her, because he knew if their minds mingled too much he would be thrown off by her emotions, which would only compound in his own mind and echo back to her, overwhelming her even more. As this stood she probably had too much to handle. Phoenix tried to fight down his fear but no matter how rational one could be in the heat of battle, there was always a part of the mind that could not be divorced from emotion.

He was afraid, yes, because he did not want to leave his family without a father, or Iskata without a mate. That had happened to him and he’d sworn he wouldn’t allow history to repeat itself, not without a fight to the bitter end. Fortunately Phoenix’s own ignorance proved to be an advantage. He didn’t know his own strength and hadn’t expected to toss Gabriel away with so much force. He didn’t allow himself to be surprised, however. Before the books even made contact with his opponent’s head, Phoenix kicked again to get himself back on his legs. Rushing over before the hybrid could recover, Phoenix leapt back upon him and pinned him down, wrapping his hands around the throat.

But he did not make the killing blow, as much as instinct impelled him to. Yes, he believed he would be perfectly in the right if he struck Gabriel down, but that was what separated him from the Inferni leader. He did not enjoy killing. “What th’hell is wrong with you!?” he hissed angrily, squeezing down on the throat a little. Even if he was not a killer that didn’t mean he wasn’t petty enough to enjoy making the other squirm in pain a little. “Don’tcha know you’re hurtin’ Faol?” Without lowering his guard, he took a moment to glance at the female cowering in the corner. Just moments before they had been laughing together… and now this. And it wasn’t over, too, not until her mate snapped out of his berserker rage.

I changed up what's going on. There is slight powerplay, but I assumed this would be all right considering your post. Otherwise Gabriel would have actually gone berserk and bad things might have happened.
indent The major advantage Pheonix had on Gabriel was his size. They were not equally matched, for while Gabriel was as large as an average wolf, his coyote blood did not favor him against the giant. Storm’s leader put his weight on fully, crushing the air out of Gabriel’s lungs. Around his throat were hands, gripping tight, but not tight enough. He wouldn’t go through with it—not yet, not while Faolin was here. Gabriel’s snarl hooked his muzzle and bared his teeth: “Get the fuck off me,” he spat, shifting his weight and bringing his arms up, forcing the hands from his throat and simultaneously pushing with his feet, slamming his knee between the larger male's legs, scrambling wildly during the moment of confusion until he was standing.
indentThe hybrid moved quickly, placing himself between the other male and Faolin. He was bleeding from his arm, his hair was a mess, and his eyes were burning. “Don’t you ever touch my mate again,” Gabriel hissed, fur on edge. He looked like a maniac, and this was to be expected.

I'll throw in a quick post here. ;D Powerplay Faolin as you wish! I'm not sure how you want them to go off somewhere else and how they leave Phoenix.

indentIt seemed Phoenix had gained the upper hand from the shouts and the constant struggle. She pried her eyes open and watched the scene. Watched as Phoenix got his feet into Gabriel gut and sent him flying. Feeling like she was going to be sick she was about to fling herself between the two when Phoenix had finally said something and it seemed Gabriel was trapped by the titanic male on top of him. She watched it unfold, time seemed to be standing still and her heart skipped a couple beats, pausing for a moment before realizing it had to beat to keep her alive.

indentGabriel pushed the male off and she watched hesitantly as he rose and put himself between the two. She peered around at Phoenix from behind Gabriel making sure he was not really hurt. 'I need to leave with Gabriel now. I'm sorry for everything. I'll speak to you much later after things have calmed down and I have it explained to him. she did not care if Phoenix forced the thoughts away this time. Even though she was sure he would not do it because it was a matter of life and death when she had tried a couple moments ago. No distractions, it could have cost him his life in the state Gabriel was in.

indentShe rose to her feet at Gabriel's words and stepped forward, reaching a paw out towards him, but pausing before she actually touched him."Gabriel, can we go?" she asked, head down, her eyes baring into the floor not wanting to look at him at all in fear of upsetting him once again.

Despite his confidence, Phoenix still slipped; he didn’t obviously didn’t know how to pin someone down properly and soon felt punishment for it. Resisting the urge to clutch at his throbbing privates, Phoenix braced himself, expecting the fight to resume once again. When Gabriel instead rushed to Faolin’s side, Phoenix allowed him. He didn’t want to fight the leader of Inferni; not now, not five minute ago. The telepath dipped his head down when he heard Faolin trying to speak to him once again and listened this time, nodding in agreement. He was just glad this was over and that he’d survived. Gabriel, he didn’t really care about.

Wearily Phoenix rose to hi feet. Already the adrenaline rush was starting to wear off and suddenly he felt tired. He couldn’t slow down his breathing and his heart galloped in his ribcage. He was about to turn around and leave when the madman’s final words sunk in, and all of a sudden Phoenix finally pieced together what this was about. “Wait, you think Faolin and I…?” he said aloud, stabbing a finger in his direction. It was a ridiculous notion… at least in Phoenix’s mind. He had a mate of his own back at home: the one love of his life. He could never bring himself to betray her. And her mate should have known that Faolin was not dishonorable either. “Fool,” he spat. With that final insult hurled, Phoenix spun around and stalked off home to nurse the wounds he had just received… over a horrible misunderstanding.

indent Perhaps if he had not been so blinded by rage, things would have gone differently. They might have talked, laughed about the idea, and parted ways. He might have crept up and slit Phoenix’s throat, left Storm leaderless and launched an attack then and there. Such ideas did not occur—Gabriel was a creature driven by impulse. The larger male rose unsteadily, pointed, and spoke. Gabriel’s response was a low growl, deep in his throat, wolfish. He did not know the older male, and did not consider him as a person. Now they were enemies.

indent An insult was tossed in his direction and ignored. Gabriel remained where he was until the male was gone, and then spun on Faolin. He grabbed her by the wrist and began to walk, refusing to look at her. Neither said a word as he made his way out of the building, made his way from that place and into the cold.
