Like so many things she did, she absently thought of reasons why his shoulder could have been bugging him. The popping sound of the joint caught her attention, but only internally. She had heard that sound plenty of times in the past. Outwardly though, her expression was scantly pinched with thought. “Did you sleep on it wrong or something?” She imagined that he was macho enough to shrug it off to keep up with appearances, but he had been down a hellish road or two that she was aware of.

At the time, she had been with their father. “No. It’s been bad since our fight with Skoll.” Despite the fact he had been permanently damaged, and despite the fact he had nearly lost other siblings, there had been positive outcomes. “I can’t really work it too long or it gives out.” A shrug; the admittance of a weakness was something he could offer his sister, at least.
