DaVinci had been looking for Ryan again, this time it was more than just wanting a chance at seeing her.. he didn't know exactly what their relationship was or where it was going but he had skeletons in his closet and he wanted to know the truth before he let it go to far. Before he let himself believe he was worthy of something in someone's eyes.

The silvery blue boy had padded along the edge of the coast towards the border of Inferni. He stopped short of those glorious relics that the clan loved to display to the world. For a brief moment he wondered what would happen if someone was just brave enough to remove their warning. He knew the border would still be there and the coyotes beyond that.. but atleast the feeling in the pit of his stomach would stop rolling over and over again.

He shook his head and stood face to face with one of the skulls, half of what he was yet so little of his resembled the creature the dome had once belonged to. He was not a wolf, not a coyote, yet somehow he was beginning to find some sort of middleground.. was the world finally changing it's mind on his split heritage or was he just becoming one of the lucky ones. He didn't know, maybe it was all in the eye of the beholder.. maybe it was just a long list of what if's and perhapses.

indent Talitha had gone to look for her mother. Gabriel had seen her off, though none too happily. Still, he agreed it was best, and let her have the independency she needed. Marlowe had followed after her, and offered to do so to keep an eye on the girl. While he was glad she felt safe enough to move on her own, he also watched Inferni lose another member. They were weakening, moon by moon.

indent He had been coming back from seeing her off, traveling south, and was mildly surprised by the silver-gray figure staring at the skulls. It took a second for recognition to occur, and he felt the fur along his spine rise. While he did not hate the boy, he remembered his face that night, and remembered that he had made the choice to turn against them. That was all it really took.

“You interested in joining them?”
Gabriel’s voice rang out as he advanced from behind, charms dangling around his neck and four feet moving at an easy lope.

The bastard son of the Matriarch had been lost in his own thoughts of the girl from Inferni that he hadn't even had the mind to remember exactly where he was, or the fact that now he belonged to the wolves. When the scent of the other seemed to envelope him he knew it was too late to attempt to leave, but he wasn't afraid of the leader of Inferni. The words that followed the scent did cause the stormy orbs of the silvery male to turn, seeking out the owner as he spoke up. "Depends on the reason." was the simple reply that the war scarred hybrid was granted.

His frame was relaxed as he turned his orbs back to skulls imbedded on the stakes, the warning from both the real life threat and the example clear. "Would you have done the same, for one you loved?" he asked. His actions against the clan had been clear that night, though the leader had no clue as to why. DaVinci wasn't even certain that anyone had known who their prisoner had been, but it really didn't matter now.

Deep down he was still a bit of a brat and that bit couldn't help it but ask. "What happened to the Princess?" He'd learned who the one he'd dubbed the ugly princess was so long ago but the child's mind could have cared less, she had been nothing more than the one to notch his ear and drive him from their lands once. Now he stood here on the outskirts of what could have been the double of the clan's home over the mountains with the new leader, ironically the son of the bitch he'd once insulted so.

indent No one was afraid anymore. Gabriel found that a bold-faced lie. He himself feared—feared for his family, and feared those things he could not control. In place of that fear he had put God, and time and time again, God had given him proof and shown him the truth. Still, he did not fear this boy. He feared no man in this land, except for perhaps his father—Ahren was a wildcard, an unpredictable firebomb, a blitzkrieg waiting to come down. If his father ever turned against Inferni, it would be the end for them all.
indent That was why he had made sure to keep that madman on his side. Smiling placidly, though his gold-yellow eyes remained dark, the Aquila flicked an ear indifferently. He completely ignored the first question. For the one he loved? Talitha was his daughter. Still, there was no reason to let that be known. Showing weakness was something he could not do—that was an alpha thought, one that belonged to his wolf blood. Perhaps he was not so unlike his father after all.
indent He remembered the name, and the day he and Kaena had chased the boy away. He remembered finding him later, and seeing him twice after, as an adult. This was the fifth.
“She vanished,” he said plainly.
“So have the wolves accepted you after all?”

The newest member of Phoenix Valley sat quietly near Inferni's Aquila, pondering the question for a moment since there was little to say to the answer of the 'ungly' princess from long ago. His stormy orbs turned to those crimson jewels as he answered flattly. "Not exactly." The hybrid had returned to the only place he knew he would always be accepted, to his family. A bitter flit of laughter escaped before he continued. "Iskata's pack is a strange sight to see nowadays. More coyote than wolf." The male shook his head at the whole idea. With the addition of him and his lot the number of hybrids to full bloods was basically neck and neck, pretty damn amazing for a pack who's Shaman hated coyotes with her whole heart.

Words fell short again as his eyes returned to the skulls once more, a little note ticked away in the pack of his mind how even the leader of the clan looked more like a wolf than he ever would.. but he just ignored the whiny voice in his head, he couldn't change his appearance. His silence was broken with a soft question. "Is she happy here? Ryan, I mean." he turned his troubled eyes across the beachfront as his shoulders sagged slightly. Just thinking about what he had done for his newly aquired family and what he believed he'd lossed in the whole process was beginning to weigh down on his heart.

indent Not exactly. No, most wolves were not exactly happy with hybrids. Especially those who didn’t know when to hold their tongues or reminded the world of the terrible things their parents had done. Gabriel had his mother’s eyes, liquid gold, but his father’s build. Corona was a near splitting image of Ahren. Ahemait was Kaena reborn. This boy was his father’s ghost, even if that demon hadn’t reared its head yet.
“Is it now?” He asked, though only half-interested. Those coyotes who believed in living that way were fools and had no place in his world.
indent Both ears went forward, and for a split second, his eyes caught fire. Ryan was like a niece, though he had spoken to her only once and seen her less and less as the days went on. Still, she was blood.
“She hasn’t indicated she isn’t. She’s with her father, after all.” Not that something like that would matter to the gray hybrid.
“Is that the reason you came back here?”

--just realized I screwed up his eye color.. yay for replying when you're half asleep. Stupid me last night--

He knew the deeds the male had done, the fact that his own littermate was without a father, well he'd died at the hands of the current leader of Inferni. He'd heard the truth of it, of how his mother's mate had been the one to make the first move, of how Gabriel was defending himself.. blah, blah, blah. He understood that the male next to him was dangerous and deadly but until Gabriel made his move or instructed him elsewise the silvery grey male would still stare wistfully towards the clan's lands and wonder if he'd lost the wild crimson eyed girl who had been able to make him follow her like a puppy on a string. It had been his choice, his irresponsible choice, but like the wanderer he had been he'd thought his skeletons had no way of chasing him across the lands.. but then again he'd never thought he'd find his ass back here among these familiar faces.

He just nodded quietly as Gabriel granted him that simple question. There was no use getting into explaining things on subjects that neither of them probably wanted to hear, DaVinci wasn't exactly the biggest fan of his mother because of the crisscrossing paths their lives had taken and he knew enough about the two leaders paths to even continue picking at the sore. His ears flicked back uncomfortably as Gabriel spoke the truth, of her having found her father, Davinci knew that already, he knew how happy and excited she'd been at getting her second chance at having a place to belong. The words were old news to him, but it still stung. The boy who never cared about his bloodlines and the girl who wanted a family so bad.

His thundercloud eyes seemed to flash for a second as Gabriel hit the target dead on. He wasn't going to lie to the leader, where would that get him but trouble when the truth came out later if it was given the chance. "Yes. I would have done it for her you know." He'd never admitted that to Ryan. The truth, that before his offspring had been dropped at his paws he would have given up his rogue life for her. He doubted he'd have been carefree and happy in the clan's lands but he would have been with her. He couldn't explain why.. she just have a hold on him in a way no one have ever come close to... but she hadn't asked him to give it up for the world she believed was her chance at belonging.

You'd be amazed how many people do that.

indent There it was: the truth of the matter. Gabriel’s lips pulled back into a half-grin, exposing off-white teeth. He had been like that before, moonstruck by a red-haired girl, but he had gone much further for her. The Aquila had killed for her. He had gone to the ends of the earth to find her. Still, Faolin was too much like her mother, and unable to remain in one place too long. That didn’t matter to Gabriel, who doubted he would find another woman that balanced him as well as she had.

indent It was laughter that broke from his throat next; short, dark laughter. “Something came up, I suppose?” There was a faint light in his eyes, suggesting that perhaps he knew this all ready. Perhaps he had heard this story before, or known it all along.

-I blame the whole fame of the de le poer eyes.. how they all almost have those demonic crimson orbs. Big Grin -

DaVinci really hadn't expected the short roll of laughter to emerge from the larger male's throat. When it did though he just ducked his head, not able to believe that he'd just let spew the wonders of what the de le Poer girl did to him. A pathedic little grin fell upon his lips for the briefest of moments as he scuffed at the question that Gabriel dropped. "Yeah." He said shortly thereafter, the grin replaced by a strange look, a mixture of confusion and longing.

Looking across to the leader he admitted. "Two reasons. A boy and a girl." He didn't think that Ryan would want anything to do with the disfunctional family he'd inherited, that he'd created and now was his and his alone. His mother of course was thrilled to have the young one tearing across the packlands and she felt they were protected enough with the family that surrounded them.. was it just him dumbstruck as a new father that made him so aware of everything that may or may not be lurking in the shadows or had he always been thatway below the moody brooding exterior.

indent At the remark, Gabriel frowned and his eyes turned stony. “So you fucked one girl but want to take residence up with another? Very noble of you.” His voice was cold, vicious. On his feet, the scarred hybrid kept his head high, and tail level as he stared down the peculiar male in front of him. “Get out of here.”

At the sudden turn from the leader his eyes narrowed, he didn't enjoy being insulted, his ways might not be those of the faithful being before him but as he was told to leave DaVinci stood himself up, his slimmer frame wasn't held in shame as he spat the truth at the feet of God's soldier. "So I've made mistakes, I can bet you're not perfect either." He took a step back from the border, leaving but with a warning. "I won't leave.." He wouldn't leave her, even though he'd fathered children with another if the crimson eyed girl would have him he'd be waiting in the shadows for his Juliet, no matter what.

indent Gabriel bared his teeth in a faint warning. His body language was doing most of the speaking for him, and one step forward pushed him across the border line. Even though he had no doubt that DaVinci could outrun him, he wanted to make his point clear. “You aren’t welcome here,” he said slowly, as if the boy could not understand. Around his neck, the chain dangled, clattering the cross and Saint Christopher against one another in a faint twang of metal against metal.

He had no wishes in hanging out on the border now but the young male bared his fangs back as he declared. "You can't stop it.. if she still wants me.." There was doubt in the words but he spoke the truth. Gabriel could do nothing about the relationship between the two if Ryan even cared for him.
His heart raced in his chest as he glared once more at the male before turning away with a shake of his head. His silvery blue paws took him far away from those lands, from the one he wanted more than anything.. and yet the stubborn male would find his way back to her, with or without the approval of Gabriel
