Deuce made my emo hotness.. and this is set in Millstone Village btw.

Firefly had set about exploring the whole of the territories from one coast to the mountains while she wasn't patroling the borders. She had been appointed as a scout for the pack and she figured that she might as well know just what was left out there, packwise, loners or just creatures to avoid. She'd set to wandering through the woods this day far from home when she'd come across a path so weak in appearance she'd thought atfirst that it'd been nothing more than a deer trail until she'd come upon the ruins of Millstone Village, though she had no clue it bared such a name. The girl had decided that though it was nothing now it was worth investigating just the same.

She'd come to stand at a very strange sight, stonewalling encircling a large hole in the ground, deep down into darkness with the scent of water coming strong. Her nose pressed against old warped sunbleached boards that covered up the top of the wall came to reveal nothing. She had never seen an old-fashion well, the wolves from Eire had never had need for them, enough was drawn from the rivers and streams. Curiousity was too much for the woman as she began to push the boards away to try and find out what dwelt beneith.

I steal! [html]

we prey as wolves among the sheep
and slit the necks of soldiers while they sleep

It was a strange construction – there were these small little areas, almost like there own rooms, littered with nothing but dirt and old pieces of long grass. The center of this building was huge and open, with all the compartments surrounding it, and overhead was seemingly even more space. After deciding against climbing the ladder (as it was missing a few rungs), Apollo slide open the large barn door to just a crack, and slipped out into the light of the day. He could instantly feel a drop in temperature. Despite its large area, the barn seemed to retain heat well.

He had to blink for a few moments, letting his mismatched eyes adjust to the light. Scanning the village around him, he saw the same features he had upon arriving. This time, however, something was different. By the old stone well stood someone unknown to him. Checking with a quick gesture of the hand for his knife, he smiled and advanced towards the Dahlia wolf. "What’s in there?" He asked, still several yards away from her. He assumed because she was so intent on drawing the boards away, that she hadn’t noticed him emerge from the barn.

The scent of water rose up around her as she began to push the planks away. There was no real reason to the things she did but for some reason she had decided that there was no reason not to. Pushing her head through the opening she was softly humming to herself as she thrust another board away. The earthy scent below filled the space around her as suddenly it seemed that she was not alone. Drawing her head up quickly in suprise the girl clipped the back of her skull against one of the boards, the brilliant light filling the world as a burst of pain exploded.

The metallic scent of blood seemed to take over the softer draw of water as slowly the world returned. Blinking back tears the girl snarled in pain as she drew. "What was that for?" her soft Eire accent heavy with the effects of the the fire that burned from the back of her skull. Her fingers laced over the spot where the board had left it's deep gouge as she eyed the light toned male with the strange eyes, almost as strange as those that belonged to her own nephew.

He grimaced as Firefly’s skull collided with the boards. Judging by the volume of the noise that followed, her head must have not been feeling too comfortable. He ignored her question and took a step towards her. "You should be more careful," he offered. She seemed like she could be the type to be too rash. Apollo had learned the negative effects of being impulsive. "You sure hit it pretty good," he told her, as if she was somehow unaware. By steping around her, he peered at the back of her head. Sure enough, blood had begun to seep through the rich color of her fur.

If she had been in a foul mood beforehand she probably would have lunged at the bastard that had startled her so, but she was in a bit of a daze and the scent of blood tinted her vision in crimson as she realized that the male had moved closer to her. His comment made her narrow her emerald orbs as she rolled her eyes. "I wouldn't have had to if you'd been a little brighter!" she shot back.

Resting her arms on the remaining boards she pressed her fingers to the bleeding wound as more senseless stupidity clammered from his maw. She turned to gaze at him in disbelief as he seemed to get closer and closer. "Can you tell me something I don't know already?" she asked, wondering just what in the hell was wrong with the boy that he didn't seem to realizing that he was pressing in on her space. She bared her fangs lightly as she pulled one hand away from the gash and gazed at the deep brilliant hue that tainted her pelt. How different it was when it was your own blood she wondered in amazement.

The sunlight filtered weak and thin through holes in the crumbling building, shedding light into the gloom and landing on tawny tan fur. The shadows shifted restlessly as Corsair lifted his head wearily, blinking as his eyes were suddenly exposed to the pale light. He wasn’t entirely sure of his location, but he hadn’t cared enough for awhile to ever know where he was. This time, it was different. For the first time ever since about half a year or so ago, he studied his surroundings without that look of utter despair in his eyes. Some of it was still there true, but thanks to the reasoning and reassurances -- harsh as they had been -- that the black wolf -- Garnet was it? -- had unleashed upon him, it could be said that he now had in his possession what his life had been totally lacking for a long time. Hope. It was such a tiny flame, flickering weakly inside him, but it was start. “Where….am I?” He murmured softly, the lilting words lost in the emptiness. Rising from the corner where he’d taken up residence for the night, he made an attempt at standing up ramrod straight and failed, resuming his usual hunched posture only with a notch straighter than usual. It was difficult to change well-practiced habits so abruptly after all, it was better to ease into it.

The sound of voices floated through the air, faint but close. Corsair reacted instinctively, taking a few quick steps backwards in retreat before he registered his actions. Laughing nervously to himself, he regained his composure and walked hesitantly forwards, stopping in the doorway of the building. A glittering coat of snow that carpeted the word met his eyes and a faint smile, reluctant as it was, appeared on his face. The voices still disturbed him, made him edgy, but he’d promised that he would at least attempt to confront his ‘so-called fear’. Reluctantly dragging himself out of the building and around the corner, two wolves came into view, or rather, two luperci. He shrank back at the sight, unwilling, for a few moments, to make a move. Unreasonable dread built up inside him, panic starting to creep into the edges of his mind. He couldn’t do this. It wouldn’t work. All the negativity built up and he struggled to control it, suppress it. Forcing himself forwards, he approached the two, a somewhat uneasy smile on his face. “Hello….am I interrupting something?” His words were soft, halting and accented. Corsair wasn’t sure if he even had enough knowledge about social etiquette to re-enter society anymore, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try. It would be nice, he thought to himself, to be able to walk without fear anymore. He only wondered if he would be able to put the past behind him and start anew, as unlikely as it seemed at the moment.
