this was a triumph

Vanity did no one any good. The youth had spent her morning making sure that she was spotless - hah, lets see the others look nearly as good as she did! She had no ambitions, no goals, her puppy mind was not wrapped yet around dreams of a world domination, it wasn't made with thoughts like that in mind. She was simply working on getting her bearings, and asserting herself as victorious over her siblings.

She flickered her tail like a cat, her blue eyes narrowing slightly over the figure of a bug that was just before her, too foolish to go the other way. With a smooth jerking motion she had pounced, her right paw slamming down on her prize. With a grin, she lifted her paw up, her face contorting into a wince as she realized that she was now, after finally getting clean, covered in bug guts.

Brooklyn was NPC'd in Geneva's joining post. They have met each other once!

The Sergeant padded along the Crimson Dreams territories, lime green eyes watchful as they scanned the plentiful green land. It was overcast today and it had sprinkled earlier that morning, but other than that, it was relatively dry. Geneva was thankful for the break in the rain. Winter was on its way and it would probably bring rain, snow, and hail in its frosty wake. The gray pelted wolfess was honestly not looking forward to that.

Her mind skipped around her memories of the last few days. She couldn't help the smile that came when she thought of Haven, his inquisitive eyes and quiet charm. Or of Mati, the gentle giant. She was quite large for such a young pup. Small statured as she was, Geneva was certain that by the end of the winter, with the first breath of spring, each of the pups would either be as large as her, if not outgrow her.

Then her thoughts turned to Anu, one of the pups' mothers, and she felt her smile grow. She had had a great experience talking with her earlier in the week. Perhaps she might find her and speak with her again...but her thoughts were interrupted when she spotted a familiar white form.
"Good afternoon, Brooklyn. How are you today?" the wolfess called, padding toward the youngster.

It was not her intention to find anyone else today, at least not for a long time. She had wanted to keep her thoughts to herself, keep her time as her own for awhile. But it was not how things played out. She looked up at the figure, lamenting the fact that she was so tiny when the other was so big! "Well." She said quickly to the question the bigger wolf gave her, but her face soon winkled and she began to wipe the bug off her paw. "I caught a bug...it 'sploded on me." She said, her blue eyes watching intently as she tried to wipe the remains of the bug off her body, desperate for the once pristine status she had only moments ago held.

Geneva couldn't help the smiling at Brooklyn's preoccupation with cleanliness. The white pup certainly wasn't any other she had ever met. Brooklyn seemed very dignified, with a sense of self and importance. Geneva shook her head in wonder. Each of Anu and Naniko's brood that she had met had such distinctive personalities. She wondered which parent this pup was most like

"You could wash yourself off in the lake," she said, glancing in its direction. It wasn't a very far walk. It would probably take ten minutes at most to get there. "You'd have to be careful, and patient afterward, to dry off completely before going near dirt again. Or else you'd get mud on you."
