the fire inside

Firefly hadn't killed the puppy from Crimson Dreams, which was a pity. She'd left the miserably thing on the ice and had heard the commotion as one of his own damn packmates or some stranger had come to the rescue. She had such high hopes that the ice would have broke when she'd flung his small frame onto the surface but she just wasn't having any luck this season. She'd taken her time walking back to the packlands that night and it seemed that once more Haku was off again on whatever sly little adventure he thought he was getting away with. She didn't even stop at his home when she realized that he wasn't there, instead she set off towards the vineyards and the cottage she'd used as her home until their mateship.

...And over a month later the female was still hiding out in the vineyards and avoiding her mate on the patrols along the borders. The Acer of Dahlia de Mai knew that the swelling of her belly had nothing to do with overeating and enjoying extra kills as she patrolled and it had put her in a foul mood. She just loved how Haku had taken to the news so maturely and had treated her like she was at fault for the events that had taken place after their mateship. She snorted at the thought and hoped that perhaps the attack from the bear had done just the thing to fix all their problems. Puppies here and puppies there.. she doubted he would care eitherway. If they lived he'd probably make certain it wasn't for long or that he didn't have anything to do with them. She knew he'd never exactly shown any interest in children and it was obvious to any that knew him that he wasn't exactly the best wolf suited for the job as father. She just shook her head and growled to herself as she leapt onto a boulder with a grunt to sit and glare at the forsty snowbound world about her.

Her mind for some reason had trailed back to the child she'd hoped who would have died out on the ice of the lake but obviously didn't. Just over a moon ago she'd tried to kill a child and just days before today she'd tried to save the life of one of the mouthiest creatures she'd ever known. Though she did wander back and forth between Haku's place and hers there was atleast solitude and silence in the home she had away from her mate. She growled softly at the thought and wondered if she'd even see the damned male before the puppies came around. She doubted it but sometimes the bastard surprised her.

She sat in not far from where Firefly was. She hadn't followed the female, just so bored that stalking the women everywhere was all that there was left to do. Laying her head on her paws she shifted so not to irritate the shoulder that had been shredded in the bear fight. Even now she couldn't find it in her to aknowledge the fact that Firefly was the only reason she was alive. Svara just didn't get into the mushy bull shit like everyone else. It was fate that Firefly saved her and her fate had been good that day that had been it.

Still the she wolf could remember the tender thank you she had given to the female. She regreted showing such weakness and endearing emotions. It made her gag just thinking about it. With her head on her paws and her ears back she felt more bored then ever before. With Hanna as her mentor, she had been starting her training as an herbalist and the best part was trying to piss the black she wolf off any chance she could. Not that Hanna didn't find ways to make Svara suffer, like making her shift into her luperci form. A growl escaped her maw. She hated shifting, it was a dreadful tedious act that she found no use for.

Getting to her paws she stretched and did it gently so to watch her back wounds that were still tender. Svara noted now that she had been in this pack for a month now. She hadn't even noticed how at home she had become in this pack of back stabbers, ass kissers, and loyalty buffs. Walking over to firefly's side she sat down and grinned wickedly at the female. "You still pregnant or not?" Svara poked firefly's round belly with her paw as if it was something icky and she didn't want to get it on her beautiful coat. "Then again if you are it's more things for me to chase around and gnaw on." The young she wolf bared her teeth in a grin thinking about being as evil as she was to the pups. She really didn't like pups, or being one, and she had good reason not to.

Firefly flicked her tail back and forth as she stared out into the snowy landscape. She hadn't actually spent the night at Haku's cottage, instead she'd lurked around out in the woods before finally having come back to her own place. She could catch the scent of the young woman she'd saved, though neither had mentioned much of the whole event after it had taken place. She liked it thatway, though she wondered just how the kid had tracked her back here.

Her ears pressed back against her skull as the smaller girl moved over to the sunningstones and joined her. When the other nudged at her still swollen belly Firefly growled softly and snapped at the paw before turned her orbs to the girl. "It's not fat if that's what you're getting at.." she grumbled. Then again the puppies had become quiet and not as responsive since the attack from the bear. She wasn't really sure what she thought about that.

She shifted her eyes off towards the cottage she had once occupied at all times before glancing back at the kid. "I'd watch out if I were you Svara, look who their parents are, pick on them while you can, I highly doubt they'll let you for long." Firefly grinned back at the child, wondering just what sort of trouble her own child would cause the dark hued girl before her. She'd probably chase her to the ends of the earth once she was older, she really didn't feel sorry for Svara if the kids were like Haku and herself. If they weren't, Svara's treatment would force them to grow backbones atleast.
