Night fell, and the stars populated the darkened sky. Each twinkle made it seem magical to wolves and creatures alike. The moon was the dominate star that was shown in the sky. With some stars grouped together to form a constellation, one of them looked like Orion. The forest was quiet with some insects making noice during the night. Crickets with their spikey legs rubbing against each other making that noice that seemed peaceful, but annoying at times. The creatures that inhabit the day now in their burrows, holes, or homes.

With the night present, one creature, a wolf actually, walked on the grassy area that was on top of a cliff. She walked until she was a fair distance away from the edge as she looked up at the stars and their beauty they have to offer down unto the earth. Her blues were examining each star and the constellations they formed, starting from Orion. She thinks she saw a constellaion that looked like the Little Dipper. From count, they were the only constellations she could find. She might have to go to another place to see other constellations. Then she came upon a very bright star that was sparkling brighter than the others. It took her back when her mother showed her the same star. She said to the young wolf that it was a Wishing Star. She also said that if you make a wish, it will come true. However, it was an instant wish, but an eventuality. It may come true in the future. Flayra didn't mind, however, as long as it came true eventually.

Haku had been born with a natural affection for beauty. Unfortunately, the years had suppressed this and had left him in a world dull and gray most of the times. The brown male looked up at the dark sky filled with sparkling diamonds, only out ruled by the full moon. Only thing the male thought of it all was that it provided additional light. He had hoped things would have settled down a bit themselves after he and Firefly had made the mateship official. What had he been thinking. He should have known better than to try foolish titles would be able to keep him in line. Haku doubted nothing could, even though he had played relatively nice after Cercelee foolishly had put him in the leadership seat.

Haku did not sleep very much, that was why he was out, trailing interesting and uninteresting scents all about, minding the border and so on. This puppy he now had traced down, now this was interesting. The male let a few moments pass before he made himself visible in the moonlight. The blue eyed male was uncertain if this child was a member of the pack or not. There was not a strong scent of Dahlia on her, and it could suggest it was a child completely lost in the middle of the night, or a very fresh member. If the latter, then their first puppy even.

Yes, puppy.. A shiver entered his spine with the unpleasant chill that makes one want to grit its teeth. It was not the child’s fault, but Haku was starting to get a puppy peeve because of all the sexual activity around with different females. Deuce had come and told him because they were friends or something, but what about the females that he did not know that very well? Were there a lot of bastard dirt running about? He eyed the child somewhat wide eyed and with unmasked curiosity, as if he was not sure what exactly he was looking at. Actually.. he had not seen a puppy since his own daughter had been little, which was more than a year ago. Hmmfffhh, he blew out at the child while tilting his head. Haku could be known to make very little sense sometimes. Poor puppy.

As far as Cercelee has told her, Flayra was like the first and only pup there was in the entire pack. There were a few pups before, but are now living separate lives. When she is old enough, Flayra could live a separate life. Right now, she had to focus on growing up and know the dangers that she may face when on hunts or just wondering to a neutral land. She had to be prepared to know what to do for this may also prepare her to live outside on her own, though she had to before joining Dahlia de Mai. Life also got a bit better when she met Neon, who was her companion. However, he may leave to start his own family, that's if he finds a female bird. Flayra knows that there is nothing to be afraid of, or that she is never alone, but sometimes she can get that feeling. With the years ahead of her, she will find that the feeling means nothing.

As she continued to look up at the night sky, she caught the scent of another wolf. It had the scent of Dahlia de Mai, so it was one of the pack. She didn't need to worry, unless there was a rule about pups being up after dark. If there was, then she would be in trouble. The wolf came close, but Flay tried to remain calm. A quick sound came from behind, like the wolf was trying to say something. It was hard to make sense out of. Did the wolf have speaking troubles? Or was it that the wolf just didn't know how to act and speak near a pup like Flay? Either way, the young female had to be polite to her elders. "Nice night for star gazing, isn't it?"

His left ear flickered towards his skull as he decided to give the little creature a chance without letting her realize the fact that he was the meanest wolf in Dahlia de Mai. She would find out in time, he was certain. The young female seemed slightly confused at his sound. His pfthish kind of sound had not held any meaning at all, it had simply been a random sound that meant nothing. The female puppy squeezed out a reply about star gazing. The adult male perked his ears gently and let his eyes travel up to behold the jet black sky filled with sparkling jewels. Yes, he supposed it was a fine night for star gazing, if one was into such tragic romantic stuff. His blue orbs found back to that little pale face down near the ground. Sure is, little lady. His voice was light and friendly, and his tail wagged in a sociable manner. Haku’s jaws opened wide in a long yawn before continuing. Is it not past your bedtime, miss? He offered a small smile. What’s your name?

Flayra was glad to realize that the wolf wasn't harmful. Well, she didn't think he would to a pup her age, and/or to fellow pack members. Flayra was safe because she was part of the pack, though just joined the other day, so she didn't have much of the Dahlia scent on her. She needed more time to have that. Right now, she continued on with just started conversation with Haku. A smile came onto her face about Haku's agreement about star gazing. She then thought for a second for an answer for Haku's question. It was indeed past her bedtime, but she didn't really wanted to sleep. It was kind of hard for her to sleep, especially with the event from four months ago still haunting her mind and dreams. There were times that she did sleep, trying to dream about other things, but some times, the event gets to her, making her talk in her sleep. It was going to take time for to stop it from haunting her mind. She even asks herself about her brother keeping it out of his mind. Did he forget? Or does he try not to think about it? Either way, Flay had to try. Returning to the question in hand, the female pup said, "Well, yeah, but I have sleepless nights occasionally."

Flayra again looked at Haku replying, "Flayra. Flayra Zazkex. I joined the other day, so I'm unfamiliar with the territory and the lands." Flayra had to say that she joined the other day because she thought that the male would think she just a pup entering claimed land with no permission or an escort. Well, she didn't when she came to join, but at least she was met by someone who was kind. Also, she had her trusty companion Neon with her for protection.

Everyone had sleepless nights every now and then. Haku knew the issue well from when he was a child. He had been afraid of the nightmares that often had tortured him when he closed his eyelids, but had at a point realized that it was forever sealed within him and a part of who he was. There should be no fear but for the fear itself. The adult nodded wordlessly at the child. Still, she should not be wandering alone at these hours.

Flayra Zazkex. If Haku had not been a monster and chased a white male away without opening for a dialogue, he would have discovered the link between the light pup and the adult instantly. Sadly, Haku could be a bastard when his darker half was awake, and he took it out on the individuals that happened to be around. Haku looked at the puppy and gave her a second nod. Fresh meat, but she had bravery to sit in her new home even though she could easily get lost.

"I see, welcome to Dahlia, I am Haku. Do you have a place to sleep though?" If it was Cercelee that had greeted the little girl, then surely she had provided the child with a place to sleep and food to eat.
