Location okay? And backdating to right after her talk with Pilot (tentatively the 15th, but I'm double checking with Anna). Das is gut?

Rage boiled in her blood. The only time she had ever felt anything like this was after she had realized it had been Conri who had raped Naniko. Except this time the femme hadn't listened to reason. She was hunting down the coyote that had violated her friend. Her mind was teetering on the edge of losing control. Enough so that she was still in control of her body, but anything in her mind that might be screaming for her to stop was muted. Lithe legs carried her through the various trees of the dense forest. How far had she come? How long had it been since she had left Pilot's side? The girl really didn't know.

Suddenly the wolf came to a screeching halt. That scent. It was him, he was close. So close. And that was all that it took. What was recognizable as the Marino girl was gone. Involuntarily her muscles and bones began to shift and bulk up. Fiery emerald orbs stared straight forward as her body realigned. The normally slender wolf was now a hulking beast. Hackles raised and ears plastered back against the now large skull, the monster ran in the direction of its target.

It didn't take long until the disgusting 'yote was caught in her sight. Lips curled in a snarl, revealing the sharp, dangerous canines underneath. A thunderous rumble echoed in the broad chest as the luperci hurled herself at the foe. Snow and dead leaves were thrown up behind her and large paws railroaded at the smaller canine. Mouth was opened and ready to tear into whatever piece of the creature she could sink her jaws into.

That's all fine with me! :]

Rage could be a powerful weapon when used correctly. Hybrid knew this well, and had attempted on many occasions to mould his emotions to suit his needs. Although he despised this, he was naturally an honest soul (or so he liked to believe), so when he tricked someone, he felt the lie reverberate through his bones and settle in his marrow (or so he tricked himself into believing). There was really only one problem; Hybrid could not remember if he was truly an honest creature, or if he had tricked himself into believing it. That was where the complications arose. He supposed that no matter what the case was, he could convince himself otherwise if he so chose.

Perhaps he would. He wondered what else he could convince himself of. Could he convince himself that he was in love with, say, Gabriel? That would be fun (quite fun), but not so fun if Gabriel did not reciprocate such feelings. Hybrid wondered if it would be just as fun pretending to like someone as truly liking them. He had liked Pilot (well, a little; he was a wolf after all). What that really meant was he had liked the sex, and he had liked the male's compliance (but found it a little boring after a while). Truth be told, he wasn't so peeved Pilot was gone now (or was he?) He wasn't too certain; but it didn't matter (or did it?) Perhaps he could turn this indifference into anger or sorrow and harness it in some form. Fuel, perhaps, for his next fight.

A strange grin snaked across the male's face as he began to realize the implications of the thought. Could he truly make himself angry with no provocation? Could he sit there and find hatred boiling underneath his skin? Perhaps, perhaps. He would have to try this. He would need a test subject.

It took twenty minutes. But he had his test subject; a wolf that was barrelling toward him at a reckless speed, crashing through the branches and ploughing through bushes to get to him. Hybrid grinned, but quickly turned that into a snarl. He was angry; no, he was livid. He let the girl come, let her charge, leap, snarl and snap, and then step away. His false anger gave away to calm indifference as he simply stepped aside to evade her attack. He felt her claws brush past and take a chunk of fur and skin with it, slashing a small, but deep wound on his shoulder. Hmm. Just as quickly, he replaced his composed demeanour with silent ruthlessness. It would not do for him to simply stand there.

Just as soon as he stepped aside, his lowered his body slightly and bounded forward to attack the girl from her side, moving quickly and leaping at her like she had to him.

Yay! I'd like it if Savina only got bites and cuts, like we discussed before, nothing too serious or maimy. Anything particular for Hybrid, or just expected injuries as well? Also this is my first actual "fight" thread, so tips are greatly appreciated XD

At the last moment the coyote stepped to the side, avoiding what could have been a bone-crushing impact. Of course, it wouldn't be that easy, now would it? Though it wasn't all for loss. She had managed to tear a chunk from him. A rather unimpressive injury, but better than none at all. The beast put on the brakes, but at the speed she had been traveling it was a few yards before she came to a halt.

Blazing emerald orbs turned to capture her opponent just in time to see him charge her as well. A menacing snarl came past her curled lips. He leaped, but instead of trying to avoid the attack all together the wolf rose up onto her hind legs, talon-like claws outstretched to rip into his body again. A deafening roar came from her throat. The monster was ready for this.

Sounds good, no loss of appendages for Savina! For injuries for Hybrid, we can just wing it. Whatever happens is good for me. And as for the fight itself, I usually try to think if evasion is possible/ plausible, or if a counterattack is possible. It's also good to think if there is a handicap (eg: trip over a stone and take a hit). Usually Hybrid's able to evade a lot of attacks, or at least counterattack since he's small and quite quick, but Savina would be in she-hulk mode, so she might not be able to evade sudden surprise attacks, but might notice a straightforward attack and beat it back with brute force? (Sorta like what she did just now!)

She was not afraid. Apparently the girl had not heard of him, his name, or his past deeds. He was somewhat surprised she had decided to face him head on, but at the same time, realized such an action would work to her advantage (theoretically). Hybrid had neither the size nor the brute strength most wolves did, and he was notably smaller than most coyotes. But it had never been a problem in the past. No, he had fought against a wolf in its Optime form once while he had been in his Secui form. If anything, against this lumbering, inexperienced fighter, he had speed and he would be able to use this to advantage. He just had to plan things out properly and make sure things happened when he needed them to.

The girl reared up on her hind legs, and instantly, Hybrid realized such a situation would be unfavourable toward him. He usually fought from the ground, attacking low and striking his opponents vital points. But like this, the girl could easily overpower him and force him to the ground. He was an inefficient fighter on his back while in his Secui form and he knew it. He would have to turn this around.

The two of them collided, and the girl was much, much taller than he. Quickly, he ducked back, attempting to evade her claws, snapping at her stomach (as he did not rise to meet the girl), and instead moved low, biting at her legs. She was wide open to attack, with her body stretched out and her claws so far away. But it would only last for a moment, so as Hybrid lowered himself, he moved quickly, trying to attack the parts that had no claws or teeth to fight back. As soon as he had done this, he retreated slightly, moving back, around, snapping at her in case she tried to get close.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice! Big Grin

As the coyote and her collided she tried to grab him with her front paws so she could slam him onto the ground. However, he quickly ducked low and went to attack the lower half of her body. He was fast. But it didn't phase her. She was a mad dog that had just been let off the leash, and she behaved just as such. The wolf felt him biting at her legs, but that was the only thing that registered. No pain reached her consciousness. Snarling, she reached down to attempt to grab the little beast by his tail, but once again he evaded. Instead she slashed at his backside as he retreated. Hoping to lay open his hide some more.

His pathetic snapping didn't scare her in the least. The monster only stared at him with those eyes made of green hellfire. Dropping back to all fours, she faced him once again. Beginning to circle, not letting him get behind her. Then she charged at him again, low and fast, so he couldn't get underneath her again. As she got close one of her taloned paws reached out to either grab a part of him or slash at him, whichever could be achieved.

The girl was moving much quicker than he might have anticipated, and reacting so quickly. Hybrid had little time to think. Instead, he began to let himself go and fall into the rhythm of the battle. Like boxers, he had long ago set his own pace, his own steady rhythm, but he had only just realized it. If he followed this rhythm and did not let the girl upset it no matter what he did, perhaps he might be able to learn a little more about fighting, and take something valuable from this entire experience.

He moved more easily now, feeling his anger and rage simmer, only letting them show in the very instant of contact, exploding out, then contracting back in. He felt her change, the look in her eyes shifted, her body lowered, her balance and weight distributed differently. From the battles he had fought in the past, he could easily see where she would be going, knowing that after one began to circle, someone eventually made a move. Instead of attacking her head on, he let her do exactly that, shifting his weight ever so slightly so her claws latched onto his shoulder, pulling them together. The result was something like a clinch, wherein Hybrid had his front paws free and the girl was ripping and tearing at his flesh. It was, however, a very dangerous position to be in, as her paw was caught just at the junction where his foreleg met his shoulder, leaving him open to attack. As such, he had to move quickly, moving under the clawed paw that held his fur, twisting under her quickly as he moved to rip her throat out, pushing his weight forward, into the direction where she was missing a leg to support her.

A grim satisfaction fell over the beast as one of her paws dug deeply into his shoulder, gripping him tightly like a vice. Her other paw quickly took action, slicing and dicing where ever it could. She wasn't even paying attention to whether or not they hit. She had him. In that short moment she was convinced that the little worm wasn't going to get anywhere. But, as tended to happen, that all changed in a mere matter of seconds. He was maneuvering to attack her right where she was the most vulnerable, her neck. Fiery eyes grew wide as she felt him using all his weight to get her at her throat.

It was the first thing that came to mind, so she did it. Letting her strong foothold on the ground go she allowed him to push her onto her back while she made sure with her front legs that he was not able to reach her neck. He snapped and slashed as she held him above her. Claws and teeth ripping open the flesh on her front legs, a few times he even managed to slice her chest. Once again, no pain, but the wolf was still conscious of what was happening. Ivory canines flashed as she let out a thunderous bark and her hind paw's claws dug into his stomach.

With one swift movement she kicked his sorry carcass from on top of her. Before she even heard him hit the ground she rolled back onto her feet. The female turned just in time to see his body make contact with the ground and she went to pounce on him. Hoping to put him in the same position she just had been in.

Oops, my bad. XD

Again, Hybrid felt the girl shift and change, and for a split second, he felt complete and utter loathing toward himself. Despite being in his Secui form, Hybrid still did not have the size nor weight to overpower her. He supposed that smoking crack, sniffing coke and drinking yourself to sleep every night would affect ones children, as it had with Asphyxia. If his sources were correct, his mother had experimented with all sorts of drugs before; he wouldn't be surprised if she had continued such a practise while carrying him and Faolin. Perhaps that was why there were only two of them. A little of stillborns and two living things, one significantly smaller. No wonder she had abandoned them.

Hybrid snarled as she moved, and flailed even more wildly, striking at her legs, drawing blood, ripping apart her forelegs. Again, it did nothing to her. Her only reaction was to push him off, sending him sprawling. He rolled over, rising to his feet quickly only in time to see the girl rush him, leap at him. He crouched low and ran at her, intending to meet her as they collided, hunkering down even lower at the last minute as rise as they came in contact so he could throw her over his body with her own force as it collided with his shoulder.

If she had been in a rational state of mind, she would have realized that she was lucky that she had size and power on her side. If those two advantages weren't on her side, this would not be going nearly as well as it was. He was much more experienced in such hostile encounters than she was. However, there was nothing rational about the state she was in. All the wolf knew was that she faced an enemy and she wanted to rip and tear at him. Wanted to make him feel pain. Wanted to make him suffer. That and the rage was all that filled her mind.

The beast expected a similar collision to the one they had had earlier, but at the last instant he changed position. She could do nothing to stop it as his shoulder forcefully hit her straight in the chest. Her hulking form toppled over his smaller one, claws slashing out wildly with no real direction. The impact had knocked the wind from her lungs, but she was still conscious of the fight she was in. After tumbling she got back to her feet facing him. She coughed a couple times, trying to breath in deeply and restore the air to her chest. None of the intensity was gone from her posture or her eyes however.

we prey as wolves among the sheep

He caught her scent. It was one that had been familiar in the past and welcomed now more than ever. Savina had been the first to come across Apollo when he had decided to head home after his few months away. Somehow, he saw it as fate. He would deny that his puppy crush still existed. Instead, he felt a more personal bond: she was almost sisterly to him now. He altered his path, chasing down the scent. Arachnea's Revenge was the one place Apollo had most often tried to avoid, not being too partial to spiders. Now, however, he almost seemed not to notice where he was venturing.

A strong flick of his wrist sent his coveted knife hurtling through the air. He didn’t aim to inflict any sort of damage, only to cause a diversion. He needed to buy Savina some time. Though he didn’t want to admit that she could probably handle herself, he knew it was true. Either way, his brotherly love for her was switched into overdrive. He needed to protect. He wasn’t about to let bad boys like Hybrid hurt her. The knife plunged into the ground, surprisingly lodged there like a stake. He looked to the coyote, fierce snarl on his lips, hoping that it would catch his attention so that he could save Savina.

If you want Savina to lash out at Hybrid and wound one of his legs, that'd be good, that way he's incapable of chasing Apollo too far? Big Grin (Pick a leg, any leg!)

It had worked. Hybrid was a little angry he felt surprised at this (after all, he was the one who should be winning, not the one bleeding and damn well losing), but at the same time, he realized this wolf was the strongest opponent he had fought to date. No one else had given him such a hard time or made a simple victory (a simple collision) worth celebrating. Hybrid wasn't sure if this should make him angry (for she was a wolf) or elated (for this was one of the most exciting fights he had been involved in) or just bloodthirsty. Hybrid decided to opt for the latter -- it sounded more... exciting. And rewarding.

He heard her cough, and began to ready himself for another attack. He knew it was coming, knew one of them would move eventually, he could feel it, the next instance of blood, dripping, dripping, DRIPPINGDRIPPING. Hybrid grinned in reply to the girl's hacking coughs, laughing along with her. Perhaps he should attack while she was unawares. Perhaps not.

Hybrid watched her for a few more moments, then began to move closer, picking up speed in a few quick steps, and then, no, stop. He flinched as he felt a blade whip past him, felt the air shift as it passed him and lodged itself in the ground. For a moment, Hybrid was silent, then snarling. He sought out the person who had interrupted their fight, the bastard who had dared interrupt this. Hybrid stood there for a moment, growling madly. Just as quickly, he was off, after the white wolf who had thrown the knife, ready to end his life in a flash.

Hokay!
300+

The impact with his shoulder really had set her off-balance. The beast did her best not to show this outwardly, but the coughs and hacks were impossible to hide. Still, blazing eyes were fixed on him. Trying re-prepare for the next bought. For what seemed like the first time she was waiting for him to make the move. It would be difficult enough to repel the coyote in the unexpectedly weakened state. Still, when he began to move towards her again, she snarled. She was not afraid.

Out of nowhere a knife lanced into the ground between the two. The wolf snorted in surprise, angry eyes searching for where it had come from. A white male wolf was to the side, snarling at her opponent. For a split-second, recognition fired in her overcharged brain. Orbs flashed back to normal before being immersed in fire once again. Ears twitched and she turned to see the enemy hurtling towards the other wolf.

One last powerful surge of energy rushed through her veins. Using what breath she had regained she roared, charging after the smaller canine. He was faster by far, and quickly leaving her reach. Hulking black form lunged forward, slashing a good sized chunk out of his right back leg. She hit the ground with a loud crash, gasping for air. She lifted her head just in time to see the two run out of sight.

Then a pained yowl rang through the trees. The femme clenched her jaw as all the pain of the fight tore through her body. Her body shrank, reverting back to the natural lupus form. Savina had regained control of herself. She panted feverishly in the snow. Pained eyes darted around. Where was she? What happened? The scent of Hybrid was strong. Then she noticed that she was covered in blood. Panic seeped into her tired mind. I need to get home...now. She struggled to her feet and started off as fast as she could towards Crimson Dreams.

He had never seen the beautiful Italian girl like that before. She was almost frightening in her Secui form with teeth bared and mind set to wreak havoc. Though he didn’t know the circumstances to the fight, he was certain his interruption was for her own good. At least, it seemed that way, considering Hybrid was moving so quickly. As the coyote made a break for Apollo, the boy quickly turned on his heels and began running.

With his knife planted firmly in the ground, Apollo was unarmed and virtually helpless against Hybrid. He wasn’t aware of the male’s fighting experience, but Apollo himself had only learned to fight in his Optime form. He had no idea how to counter someone in their lupus form, so he was out of ideas. His only hope now was to run. He wasn’t even sure if he had time to shift, so he didn't take the chance. Had Savina not taken a good size piece out of Hybrid’s leg, he would surely have been caught by now. If he could lead Hybrid far enough away, however, hopefully Savina could flee home. Apollo would just have to deal with what came.

I replied to this, but I think I pressed preview instead of submit, darn.

He had only just began to move, only just began to formulate a plan to capture his new prey when he felt a ripping, searing sensation in his back right leg. Hybrid snarled as he tripped, trying to regain his balance; the blow came so suddenly and unexpectedly, he had not realized what had happened until a few seconds later. He threw a dirty glare over his shoulder, pausing for a moment as he evaluated his options. He wouldn't make it out alive if he continued on with his fight with the dark wolf; he would have to settle for killing this boy instead.

With the decision made, he set off after the boy, following the other male's scent as it twisted and weaved through the trees, leading him farther away from the battle scene (and farther from his original "prey").

The boy led a good chase, and if Hybrid had been unwounded, he was certain he would have been able to overtake him in seconds. As it was, Hybrid could only hope to scare the boy, perhaps chase him a bit, but he was in no condition for a fight. The boy must have known it too. Hybrid's back leg hung in tatters; the female's claws were highly effective. The bone could be seen where she had dug in particularly well, and much of the leg was exposed muscle, tendons and flesh. There was little fur left where the girl had struck. Though he loathed to think it, Hybrid was fortunate she had not struck a vital area.

The distance between Hybrid and the white male was widening. He would never catch the boy now. And he could never hope to, either. Hybrid did not fancy another fight -- not when he would be at such a disadvantage. He could barely walk, his every step was laced with pain. His left shoulder was also throbbing from a wound he had received from the girl, a large gash that stretched across his shoulder and extended to his back.

With little else he could do, Hybrid howled after the white wolf. It was a loud, piercing yipping sound, calling after the boy, and promising him a painful death if they ever met again.

He decided not to look back and ran with any and all of the energy his body had stored up within his muscles. He knew he would be able to cover significantly more ground if he would have shifted, but he still didn’t want to take the chance. If Hybrid happened to catch up, there would be no one to save the young boy.

After awhile, Apollo slowed his pace and dared to glance behind him. He couldn’t see the coyote anymore, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t still being chased. With his chest heaving, he looked around to try and gain his bearings. He hadn’t really ran too much with a destination in mind, but he noted now that somehow he had managed to loop around and lead them towards Crimson Dreams. Apollo could tell that he now rested somewhere within Shiloh Hills. Just as he turned to find his enemy, an eerie call ripped through the air.

It was Hybrid. He had won this battle, but the war wasn’t over yet. Should they meet again… well, Apollo hoped they wouldn’t.
