Winter's Wrath [aw]
#1
The minuscule figure of a wolf pup paddled atop the surface of the icy snow. The small body paddled slowly through the snow that danced in the sky, walking slowly with the strong winds. Vanilla hued fur tangled as the air brushed against the wolf’s small body. Navy blue eyes where narrowed as the small pup tried to increase his ability to see through the wall of white that was set ahead of him. Breaths where turned to weak gasps for air, and frantically the wolf pup tried to inhale a breath. The wind changed direction once again, this time pushing against his right side. Nearly loosing his balance, the young he-wolf steadied his stance, not wanting to fall over and be buried by the snow.

Gathering the strength to raise his head to the wind, the vividly coloured pup searched the lands. He saw nothing but distorted images of trees and of the mountain peeks that towered above the earth. He had followed the scent markings that lead into the foothills of the mountains, and suddenly he was engulfed by a blizzard. “M-momma!” He yelled, his voice echoing in the winds, only to fade away. Inhaling another short, raspy breath, the pup turned his head away from the wind. A shiver rang down his tiny spine, and for once in the entire winter, he felt as if he would turn into an ice cube. His coat had protected him before, but the tiny pup had never laid eyes upon so much snow falling from the sky all at once.

“Mommy!” The voice cried again, hoping that his mother, where ever she was, would come and protect him. She had left him in the middle of a game of hide-and-go-seek, and she had not returned. After searching for the remainder of the day, he had caught a faint smell of another wolf. He did not wish to travel to the wolves, but there was a chance that they could help him search for his mother. His brother had gone missing as well, and the small wolf wanted desperately to find them. The pup’s father had died a week or so ago, and he had not learned of his death. His mother had thought that such innocent little things should not know of the Reaper, and she did not have the heart to tell her children what had happened. Her mate had died of malnutrition while he tired so desperately to raise his pups, and his mother whom had gone missing had killed herself. Somewhere within the gates of heaven, the couple where being reunited.

But the pup, poor little Kedinn, knew nothing of their death. He was alone and afraid, and he could not understand why he was abandoned by the only wolves he knew and loved. A soft whine came from the male as he walked blindly through the blizzard. His eyes focused momentarily upon a shadow that stood in the distance, and immediately his hopes raised. A smile curled his lips and he bounced toward the dark figure, his beautiful blue eyes full of happiness. Upon coming closer to this shadow, it revealed itself to be nothing more than a tree. The pup’s hopes shattered inside of him, and his pace slowed as he came to the thin trunk of the tree. Tears built within his optics as he looked up at the tree, deeply disappointed as he came to sit beside it. Laying himself against the rough bark of the tree, the pup curled himself together.

“Mother? Mother why did you leave me?” He whispered softly to himself, whimpered as he closed his eyes. He felt the cold bark scratch uncomfortably at his back, and again the pup whined in distress. Again he shivered, and he tried desperately to conserve the little warmth he had. The little Larose boy wondered of the whereabout of his brother, of Kujo. "Brother where did you go?"

The puppy traveled through the lonely lands. He had lost his brother, after a small argument about them going off to find their mother. Kujo had left Kedinn without a second thought. Sometimes he just couldn't stand him. Kujo was now far away from his brother, fueled with anger, and ready to bite even Hanzu's head off at the moment. The three guardians followed behind the small wolven mutt. Kujo had three guardians, each of the three holding their own part of Kujo's spirit, and his personality. So far, none of them have possessed the young pup's body, instead took the forms of other animals. Hanzu for example, takes the shape of a Bengal tiger cub. He represents both Kujo's playfulness and boldness. Tobias was a large hawk, with the horns of the dragons. Tobias represented Kujo's mysterious side, as well as his intelligence. Sinaha took the shape of a Panda bear cub. She represented the love sick and sweet side of Kujo.

Each of them had their jobs, and the three did it well. They made sure that Kujo's mind was in check and that his emotions are not exploding all over the place. Kujo was a wolven mutt that felt like he needed to kill the world. Everyone besides himself were to die soon enough. Other times, he was religious and he was very calm and maybe sometimes social. Right now, anger fueled through his veins and he held his curly tail above his back. Hanzu's fat baby tiger stomach plopped on the ground and he sat there. "Kujo, don't you think that we could rest? And don't you think we should go back and make sure your brother is okay?" the tiger spoke to the angry pup. Kujo's mismatched orbs looked back at Hanzu with great anger held within the icy orbs. "Kedi' is a fagot. He can find his own way home. " the brujo stated. He didn't mean it but his anger always did get the best of him.

"Kujo, don't make any rash choices. You might not be able ta' see your brother ever again. You're mother abandoned you two, and someone might pick Kedinn before they even know about you." Tobias spoke, his large wings collapsing to his sides and those large mismatched orbs looking at the small wolven mutt. Kujo ignored the two warnings and continued to walk. He still walked on some icy parts, while the other parts of the ground were cleared of snow and ice, and full of flowers. The month old pup snorted and walked silently over the terra.

His stomach soon started to growl. He had missed his mother's milk. That warm liquid that was creamy white and full of richness of fats and nutrients. He knew that his mother had left them now, and he just wished that his new mother [if he was to find one] had some milk to give to him. "I'm sure Kujo knows what he's doing. Kedinn will be fine. Get off his back." the sassy panda cub spoke as she wiggled towards Kujo. Tobias and Hanzu didn't have a choice to stay, so they too followed the ivory based pup. So Kujo walked on and on, until he heard the sound of a voice. Brother where did you go? spoke the voice. Kujo knew that voice all too well. He circled the tree that the voice had come from, and he found his little brother. I'm right here. Don't have a heartattack.

Spirit guides don’t always show themselves to other canines, so I’m going to assume Leland can’t see them.

Curling up inside his newly dug out den was the only thought on Leland’s mind as he trudged through the snow that was becoming increasingly deeper and deeper. Although he was a creature built to race through the snow, widespread paws, thick winter proof coat, and his barrel chest were all proof of that, Leland was having more trouble than he had anticipated returning to his new home. His fishing excursion had taken longer than he had intended and the snow had come down quicker than he had thought it would, given that he was tired from wading in the icy waters and the cold was finally getting to him, Leland was not enjoying the return trip nearly as much as he had enjoyed leaving his den.

With every step the red hued husky took, he thoughts became more pessimistic and his normally jovial mood darkened. It was two tiny puppy voices that interrupted Leland’s uncharacteristic thoughts, though he could barely make them out, and Leland cursed the wind and snow for making it so that he could not have smelt the children before hearing them. Sight alluded him as well, but Leland turned in the direction of the voices and found that sight only alluded him as the two were attempting to shelter against a tree which had blocked his vision. Finding the tiny paw prints in the snow, Leland followed them around the tree and came face to face with the two pups.

One pup had raccoon rings around his eyes and the other had two different colored eyes as Leland had himself, though the puppy sported an emerald eye instead of Leland’s chocolate one. Their presence confused the dog, for he was almost sure that none of the members of Aniwaya, though he hadn’t meant them all so he couldn’t be sure, had puppies and certainly not of their age. They looked to be a good six months or so. "What’er you pups doing out in weather like this? Yer both gonna freeze yer tails off." The husky shook out his fur, waiting to hear their answers. At least one of the puppies looked distressed, and Leland, as always ready to help out, forgot about his own frozen fur and chilled limbs.
