Forest and caves near the manor
+300

When Moose had left from the border and his time meeting Geneva and Savina, he began staking out his knowledge of the area. As footsore and weary as he was, he was determined to map the area from end to end, or at least until he found the caves Savina had mentioned. He wasn't willing to dive right into the pack dynamics, so he had decided to forgo the house full of pack members for the solitude of the forest and caves.

His keen amber eyes scanned the horizon, taking note of the angle of the sun, the slope of the land, the wind in his fur. Moose smiled, his tongue lolling from his open maw, sharp canines flashing keenly in the light of day. His heart was overjoyed. Casting aside his worries for a moment, he playfully pranced around, yipping small barks of joy before composing himself once more. Amber eyes turned to the sky and he spoke. Sirce, 'tis jist whit yeh 'ad always dreamt o'. Yeh led meh 'ere, dinnae ye?

She had to have lead him here. It was too perfect. The area reminded him of their home in the summertime when the wildflowers bloomed all around and the air smelled full of their glorious aroma. Granted, it was still covered in snow right now, but it just felt so right. So perfect.

As the wind again ruffled his fur, he turned his nares and ears towards it, straining to extract every last information from it. Cardinals, chickadees, blackbirds chirruped and sang, startled and curious about his presence. The distinctive taste of snowshoe hare and chipmunks wafted to him through his nose. Larger game lingered near the edge of his senses, unwitting victims of his future hunts with his new pack. My pack. The thought comforted him.

The day was wasting, and he was more tired than hungry. He would need to bed down soon. It was time to find a suitable cave.

-Steals thread- Hello! 300+

The past few weeks had been calm and quiet. Ehno had spent much of his time patrolling the pack borders and milling about the mansion. The ever present itch for exploration was on him again, inspired by the calm, but he kept his wanderings to the packlands, content to stay close to home for the time being. He had headed south west from Haven Manor that morning, deciding he wanted to take a look at the nearby caves. He had seen them a few times before, but he never took the time to explore them. He had spent the better part of the morning wandering throughout the caves, making mental notes about how each one connected to the others.

He had been checking out some rather peculiar patterns on one of the cave walls when the relative quiet was disturbed, originating outside and swooping down into the caves. The barks bounced off the cave walls, echoing throughout the small system of caves and distorting a little to take on an almost higher pitch. Ehno paused, listening to the barks as they faded and silence took over again. He cocked his head to the side, curiously wondering if it were one of the pups were wandering about outside. He turned around and made his way outside to see just who it was.

He poked his head out from the cave, glancing around the snow-blanketed scenery for any sign of the other wolf. Some distance away stood another wolf, one unfamiliar to the Italian boy. He had never seen this stranger around the mansion or packlands before and the winds were blowing in the wrong direction for him to catch the scent of the male to see if he really was another unknown packmate. But the stranger’s demeanor was calm and not out of place or suspicious, not the behavior of someone knowingly trespassing on their lands.

Ever curious and friendly, Ehno stepped farther out of the caves in order to get a better look at this fellow and make himself more visible. “Hello there,” he called to the stranger, the usual smile pasted on his features.

Hi! Sorry it's short!

The joy quickly turned to caution and back to relief. In a matter of moments, his regalings had ground to a halt as the scent of a male reached him immediately followed by a voice. The scent reached him again with the friendly tones in the voice and he regained himself again. Moose had been wandering too long. This male was with the pack, and eager to find out who he was.

Moose stepped forward, into the wind to allow the other wolf to gain his scent easier. As he approached him, he ducked his head in greeting before responding. " 'ello. Ah'm Moose tha Walhd." That felt awkward. He would definately have to regain his lost social skills. Perhaps he should go ahead and move into the mansion and force himself to get better at it. Hell, Geneva and Savina had said they were one big family.

The morning had left him bored in the library. He had no muse for reading he wanted to go outside! The weather had been excellent for the past few days and he no longer wanted to be stuck inside because of snow. As he walked out into the snow he saw the clear paw prints of members of his pack. Maybe today would be a good day to just socialize? Since he had sex with Garnet a month ago they had been waiting to see if she would become pregnant. Amazingly, it was boring business waiting around for her to find out so the outdoors seemed like a more appealing idea for the day.

Stepping down off the porch He began to shift. It was hard for the male to shift quickly as it hardly happened. When he was calm he only shifted about once a month to keep up the feelings. However, when he was angry it was his habit to shift into the animalistic werewolf form as an instinct. He considered that his uncontrollable factor. As for this time he was shifting into his Secui form. This form was the lowest he was willing to go in a world full of werewolves. The half-ling form allowed him to travel as a wolf however, with his giant size he looked more like a black bear at 4 feet tall and just over 8 feet long. Finally, he was completely shifted. Rolling his shoulders he could feel the difference of power. Bringing his muzzle down to the paw prints he caught Ehno's scent and smiled.

Jazz set off running, pushing himself to his limits. He hadn't been able to work himself out as much during the cold season and it was starting to effect his speed. At least at home he could work out but running wasn't the same on the spot. No, this was how a wolf should run. He lead himself dodging corners through the caves that where filled with Naniko's family scent. Suddenly he found himself bursting out of the cave, snow flying behind him. Golden eyes quickly spotted Ehno and some stranger. Slowing to a trot he approached them with a grin. “Hey Ehno!” Looking over to the new male he sized him up. The scent had some Crimson Dreams in it so he had been here for only a short amount of time. The male was fairly large which was a lot for the giant to admit to. Sitting down beside his pack mate he allowed his body to cool in the snow. Most wolves found Jazper to be more then enough intimidation at first, but that usually went away and was replaced with a sense of safety after the first meeting. With a grin he nodded to the grey wolf before him, “I'm Jazper Rhiannon-Knight.” He explained with a smile, “How's your stay in Crimson Dreams going? Are you staying permanently?”The midnight male was not one for beating around the bush. If there was a new member he wanted to know as soon as possible. Better to know now then see him later on in the mansion.

Moose had just spoken when a dark mass the size of a bear leapt from the cave nearest the strange wolf. He couldn't resist his instinct this time. The fur on his back raised and his hackles rose as a deep growl erupted from his throat. No sooner had the growl emerged than the giant of a figure settled beside the femme and he noticed it was a wolf, with a heavy scent of his own pack clinging to every piece of him.

Such a huge male. I thought it was a bear or something else... not a wolf, especially not one of my own pack. Moose eyed him suspiciously, but immediately apologized and introduced himself. "Och, mah apologies. Ah dinnae thin' ye were a wol' fer a moment. Ah've been wan'erin' too long fer sumoon big'r than meh ta appear und na beh a threat." He lowered his head in respect and apologies.

"Ah'm Moose, und Ah've na bin 'ere boot a shor' tahme, boot Ah plan ta beh 'ere for a lawng tahme yet." Moose couldn't believe he had been so quick to react. Stupid, stupid wolf. Great way to work on those social skills. It was too late now. He would just have to continue to work on not necessarilly dulling his reactions, just tweaking them. There were too many surprises in packs for him to react to vehemently every time a new comer appeared on the horizon. However, in his defense, this newcomer was huge... even compared to Moose's own stocky build. How was it possible for him to be so large?

Ehno had seated himself at the cave mouth when the newcomer approached, moving to a place where the shifting winds could better carry his scent. He breathed in the scent lightly, confirming that the male was indeed a stranger, but the sight smell of Crimson Dreams mingling with him said that he wouldn’t be a stranger for too long. It appeared that he was a new member of the pack, and essentially, a new part of this big family. The Italian boy’s smile widened as the male introduced himself, speaking with an accent entirely unfamiliar to him. It was unlike his own accent or that of the locals, and Ehno was rather certain that he hadn’t heard anything like it during his travels either. Maybe this Moose had traveled far as well?

The chocolate-hued male was about to offer his own introduction when something burst forth from a cave to his left. Immediately his amber gaze darted to the figure, recognizing it to be Jazper just as the familiar scent reached him. The large male was apparently in his secui form, towering over the both of them. Ehno’s own build wasn’t so large; he was smaller than both Jazz and Moose while in his lupus form. He grinned at Jazz’s entrance, nodding to him quickly in greeting. “Hey Jazz.” When the large sable male took a seat next to him, he noticed Moose’s apprehension. His surprise was understandable; it wasn’t everyday that a wolf as large as Jazz leapt out from caves to say hello.

Jazz offered his own greeting and Ehno smiled when the new pack member seemed to ease up. He was glad to here that Moose had the intention to remain with them for some time. The Italian boy nodded at his words, motioning toward Jazper before speaking, “Ah, don’t mind Jazz. You’ll get used to him soon enough. He’s like a big softy, really.” The last comment was thrown teasingly at Jazz, all in good fun. He returned his attention to Moose, realizing that he hadn’t even introduced himself yet. . “I’m Ehno Marino. Glad to have you in the pack, Moose.”

Hi guys! 300+

Kansas had slept rather late today. This was a little strange, because oversleeping was something he had done only a few times before; less than he could count on one paw. Savina had not been in their room when he'd awakened. He wasn't too terribly worried about her — considering her past, Kansas was very aware that his mate was more than able to care for herself. But he still felt badly for being asleep when she'd left. He remembered hearing the soft, careful sounds of her stirring around their room earlier in the morning, but he now wished she had awakened him before she left. Not seeing her in the morning felt wrong.

The cream colored male leapt from the porch stairs and headed north with pent-up energy. Though he knew about the caves, he (predictably) had never troubled himself with exploring them. And he had wandered around just about everywhere else within Crimson Dreams. Since Savina was already off taking care of her own agenda, he reasoned that today was just about perfect for seeing about the caves. As he loped in their direction, he wondered if it was odd that he hoped he would run into her along the way.

But Savina wasn't whose trail he happened to be following. Much to his surprise, he detected instead Ehno and Jazper, their mingled scents growing stronger as he neared the territory's caverns. Kansas was eager to see what they were doing; perhaps visiting the puppies? His eyes bright with curiosity, he sped up, finally moving through the entrance to a relatively well-lit cave. It took him little time to find the three males gathered inside, talking in voices of comradeship. The Sadira among them offered a soft but pleasant "Hello," nodding to each in turn. He couldn't help but feel a bit out-of-place, especially with his brother-in-law and Jazper. The other male, the newcomer whose name he didn't know, may have felt the same. And that was the sad part.

The large black male almost fell over laughing as Moose apologized. "It's okay!” He chuckled, “Well, you've met your match for sure. Don't worry though, I'm just here for your protection” He gave a wink as she continued to chuckle. His ears perked as the male talked in a thick accent making it hard to understand at times. It was times like these Jazz was happy to have grown up with a Scottish father. “I'm happy to have you along for the ride. We could always use more guys around here. Honestly, one of these days a male leader would be great.” He said with a sarcastic eye roll. As Ehno talked the coal wolf stuck his tongue out childishly with a pout but as the smaller male finished his introduction Jazper took a step to the side and shouldered his pack mate competitively, “Hey, come on now I'd rather be the big wolf in the pack and be a good guy then to be under my own sister.” He joked turning to Moose he smiled, “Savina, one of the leaders, is Ehno's sister.” He explained quickly. Turning his attention away he spotted Kansas's white figure as he approached silently. Jazper grew quiet as he regarded the white male curiously. He looked awkward in the group and out of place. Walking to his side Jazz smiled becomingly, “Hey Kansas, how's things going?” He propped his head in the direction of the new comer, “This here is Moose. He's the new guy in the pack. Better keep an eye on Savy.” ever since his day with Garnet he had been feeling so energized and full of hope. He looked from Kansas to Ehno and blurted out, “Hey guys I have some news...” He trailed off to gain attention as he wagged his tail back and forth like a young pup, “Garnet and I are expecting.” As he said this his chest puffed out. He couldn't wait to be a father.

ooc: working on it....

The flurry of activity coupled with the commradery betwixt himself and the other males felt natural. Their joking nature and quick words reminded him of old times and his old self. Moose hadn't always been the quick to act and slow to speak fellow. Once he had been the practical joker; much like the dynamic Jazz played in the scene before him.

He could get used to this bond.

'Tis nahce ta meet yeh all-Ehnoh, Jahzz, und Kans'. Und congrats ta yeh Jahzz... Moose winked broadly. Yeh should name one a'er meh. He was in high spirits today. If the pack was all like this, he would move into the house no problems. Assimilation could be worlds easier than he had dreamt.

Their presence and his little joke wasn't the only reason he was was in a good mood; the news of pups was always happy to him. He and Sirce had tried so long and hard to get pregnant, only to lose them once they had succeeded. They both loved the youngsters, and his love of pups is what first drew Sirce to him as a potential mate. He had been playing with them, distracting them and himself after the loss of his mother, the alpha female. The entire pack (and Moose as well) had been devastated, and he chose to occupy their attention to show the pack that life continued.

Sa Ehnoh... tha alpha's yer sis'? Why 'er o'er yeh? Ah dinnae knaow tha dynamics o' tha pack, boot, 'tis in'er'estin' noonthaless.

My turn, yes? WC:300+

It was a pleasant surprise when his brother-in-law came to join their growing little group. Ehno never really had the chance to spend much time with the cream colored male, so he was glad that Kansas happened to join them. He wanted to maybe get to now the man a little more himself, but he was certain he would find him to be good-natured and kind, for he knew Savina saw him that way. The Marino boy gave a nod to the Sadira in greeting, smiling kindly at him. “Good to see you, Kansas.” Ehno noticed the man lingered on the outskirts of their little gathering, but besides that, he did not sense the awkwardness that Kansas felt.

Ehno laughed good-naturedly as Jazz threw a joke right back at him. He shrugged slightly at the tease, feeling a little embarrassed about his recent position in the ranks, but not showing it. “Yeah, yeah,” was his response, a grin on his features. And then Jazz informed them that he had some news, and Ehno’s ears perked up a bit in anticipation. As the news was delivered, he felt himself smile warmly. It looked like there would be more puppies roaming around Crimson Dreams in no time. “Wow, that’s great Jazz. Congrats.” Even with Naniko’s litter growing older it appeared that the pack would have its hands full keeping an eye on more young ones.

He brought his attention back over to Moose as he was addressed, nodding in response to his first question. “Yep. Savina’s one of the leaders here. She worked her way up the ranks to get there, even back when this pack was known as Twilight Vale.” As for why she was higher ranked, he shrugged. “Her and our other leader, Naniko, have always worked hard for the sake of the pack. I’d say she deserves it more than me.” He laughed a little at that, ears pulling back in slight embarrassment. He was proud of his sister; she had worked hard and done so much for the pack. She definitely deserved the position. And honestly, he wasn’t ashamed at all to be beneath her in the ranks. Ehno wasn’t really Mr. Big-Strong-Leader-Male. Whatever position he held he was fine with, for as long as he could protect his pack mates, he was happy.

Pooooop. 300+

Kansas stood by, listening to Jazper joke with Ehno and suppressing the slight laughter that threatened. He didn't find their jocularity funny; he wasn't the type to laugh at those sorts of things. But he chose not to laugh because he thought that doing so might have seemed rude, seeing as he knew neither male well. But Jazper was friendly toward him, as he had always been. He was the first to greet him. Kansas grinned amiably. ”Hey Jazper. And… It’s nice to meet you, as well. Moose.” Having little experience with newcomers, that was all Kansas had for him. The dove male had an interesting dialect, one Kansas didn’t recognize, but he understood him fairly well.

Jazper caught him off guard with his announcement. The Sadira didn't know who Garnet, the mother of his expected pups was; but the news brought a wider smile to the creamy boy's face. ”Congratulations,” he offered. Kansas felt the urge to announce his own hopes for puppies, since he and Savina had been making their own... attempts… A lot. But he did not feel comfortable declaring that sort of thing with his mate’s brother right there, especially since he didn't know for sure whether or not she was pregnant. Telling Ehno would be for Savina to do.

As they continued to talk about his mate, Kansas stood quiet, still feeling like he didn't belong. He didn't feel the male comradery at the moment. But he was definitely happy to see Ehno. It surely seemed right that his brother-in-law should be there among them, keeping Kansas afloat. ”You too, Ehno.” He felt comfortable with the male. The two were alike in that they didn't feel the need to assert themselves as big, go-get-'em males. Kansas was okay with his rank. He just hoped Savina didn't mind. ”...Yeah. They've done a lot for the pack.” he said as compliment to Ehno's words.

The coal warrior chuckled as Moose lightened up with a joke. “Sure thing Moose!” He replied with his own wink. He was excited for his first litter, ecstatic! How many would Garnet have? Would they all be one gender? What would he name them all? “I've been thinking I might name a boy after my birth father, Ares.” Turning his attention to Moose directly, “I'm adopted. My folks were killed by a wild coyote pack and then I found Jaded Shadows in the old lands where we use to live and a wolfess by the name of Dierdre adopted me. Long story short there was a fire and she went missing, I found her mom Deuce Rhiannon and her mate Lucifer Sawtooth and they took me in with Naniko's blessing.” He didn't see his adoptive parents very often anymore. It wasn't a very good thing for their family to be split but that was the way things went. “When I got older they moved to a different pack. I have a bunch of random relations now as you can probably imagine from two different adoptive parents.” He smiled slightly.

He smiled to the boys as they congratulated him and then turned his attention to Ehno as he spoke. The male was spot on as far as Jazz was concerned. The Knight boy had been with Naniko and Savina since he was a young teenager and had looked up to them as role models. It wasn't very often in his childhood that Jazper found a good father figure to help him along so the females had won his heart and loyalty by being there to listen. He nodded as Kansas agreed, “I owe a lot to Savina and Naniko. If your ever in need of advice I highly recommend them.” He specifically remembered talking to Naniko about being a leader, how she got there, why she wanted to be one. Deep down he wanted his own pack some day. For now he was fourth in command of the pack but, he was still not a leader. Without a doubt Anu would soon join Savina and Naniko in leading Crimson Dreams making it a triple female lead group. The charcoal male secretly wished there was a male in charge to guide himself and the other's. Connecting with the females was fine but there was no fatherly presence around for him.

Kailier was walking around close by, enjoying the fresh air. Not like she didn't get enough fresh air, but when she had the scent of grass all around, it was even more pleasant. However, she did watch where she was going sometimes, as to not bump into anyone. With her mind at ease, she stopped to lie down in a patch of grass and took her interest in listening. The state of calmness that Kailier was in was that of someone who was sleeping, yet she stayed awake, intent on watching her surroundings.

Kailier had just lied down, but she wanted to see if there were any friendly wolves around, and, sure enough, when she searched for a little bit, she found a few. Maybe she could make a friend or two here. Kailier was certain that she could make a friend if she could introduce herself to as many as she could. And so Kailier said "Hello everyone. My name is Kailier. I will also say that if one has no trust in themselves, they will not achieve great things that were meant to be achieved. Well, that's how i figured i'll always greet others. You may also introduce yourselves to me. You may keep mostly to yourself or take your time with a more formal greeting" She hoped she had greeted them good enough. Oh, and the questions that would arise! Which ones would she be able to answer? And just whom had she addressed? She didn't know, but she trusted that everyone was friendly.
