Ribbons and Pearls

The tiny child of Inferni had been spending her time between the mansion and Gabriel's den. Often enough it seemed that though she could get along with the white furred coyote she still got a feeling that the older puppy did not want her there. She still missed her brother but she didn't want the clan to think that she didn't like it on the beach. She'd had beaches in Phoenix Valley, though they seemed more beautiful she liked the beaches of Inferni, except for the stupid seagulls. She would find a way to rid the beach of the annoying pests oneday.

The small Lykoi girl had found herway down to the beach again and once more she was glaring at the birds that were so loud they could wake her out of the deepest sleep. She twitched her ribbonwrapped tail in annoyance and just watched. She knew that if she ran at the birds they'd just fly away and land just out of her reach and as much as she wanted them gone she wasn't big enough to really do or say anything to make them leave. She swore the stupid things were laughing at her everytime they saw her upon the sands. She flicked her black tipped ears back at that thought and shook her head in disgust.

The twitch of annoyance coming from her tail reminded her that she really needed to ask one of the adults if she could get more ribbons for her tail. She was useless, she couldn't even put the pretty ribbons on her tail without help. The child just sunk down in the sands and sighed. She really wished there were other puppies to play with, Soibhan didn't like to play the same games that Zana did and they often ended up butting heads in the end. She just stared at her tiny paws and wondered when she's be big enough to do things for herself and go places on her own.

For once in the last couple months Faolin had finally gotten a good nights sleep. In fact, she nearly passed out as soon as her and Gabriel reached their den. She had yet to see Ezekiel or Talitha, and it seemed that they had not heard of her return yet. The woman had just awoken and came out of her den. She was going to hunt down her two little babies, well she guessed they were no longer babies, but still, they were to her. That was when a scent had made her curious and her ears perked up in interest. She tilted her head to the side and wondered where she had smelled this scent before. It was very familiar, but there was something different enough about it that she could put the smell to a name or face. It was strange, and so she guessed she could take a few minutes and try and figure this mystery out.

The Mogotsi girl dropped her muzzle to the ground to track the scent. It was not that hard to find and actually, fairly easy to pick up. As she trotted in the direction of the scent she did not even have to keep her nose down half the time. The scent was so easy to follow that she could easily track it. As she came upon the beach, she saw a figure moving down further and her ears were brought right up on her head. It was much smaller, a puppy maybe? That was strange, she did not think anyone had puppies. Maybe they had and she just did not know? Maybe this was another stray that got dropped on the borders, but that scent was so familiar, but it was clearly a coyote. Faolin was one-hundred per cent sure she did not recognize the scent.

After her brief pause, Faolin quickly picked up her pace and walked over to the younger girl, cocking a brow in question. And, who're you? she asked, tilting her head to the side. She plopped down on the sand beside her and stretched out her paws, trying to relax a bit. It had been so long since she had been to the beach. Figuring the girl might be a bit uneasy, the woman flashed her a playful smile. I'm Faolin Mogotsi. You might know my mate, Gabriel, yea? she asked, looking at the girl curiously.

The little girl had started stalking one of the annoying squaking birds down the beach just to ease the grudge she held against them for the time. She loved to make the scavangers eye her and have to keep watch on where she went and what she was doing. She smiled a bitter smile until the scent of another crossed her maw. Flicking back her large ears for a second she turned around, forgetting the silly bird as the voice of the stranger graced her ears.

She quickly collected herself as the older woman came closer, Zana silently studied her, she'd never seen the red and cream lady before and she narrowed her eyes slightly as the figure stopped before her. She'd asked her name and the small girl knew that she couldn't be rude and not answer, but after a few moments while she was getting ready to speak to the new woman she was meeting in the clan the lady offered her own name and one that Zana knew very well.

Her eyes brightened up as she nodded, her voice shy as she answered. "I knows Gabe, I stays with Zeke and Gabe." She wasn't exactly sure what a mate meant but if the lady knew Gabriel she couldn't be all that bad. The little girl wagged her ribbon wrapped tail as she finally remembered to give her name. "I'm Zana Lykoi.." she said softly, finally after days of pounding in her head Corona had atleast helped the child with her pathedic attempts at speech.
