For Savina! Would you mind if we set this for the 19th? WC: 300+

The Marino boy had been in and out of the manor the past few days, busying himself with his new task. After taking such an interest in wood-working and realizing how much it could help out the pack to keep the mansion in working order, he found it necessary to create himself a little workspace. After taking a few trips to the city and back, Ehno had gathered himself quite the collection of tools, some in working order and others in need of repair. This collection had only cluttered is room upstairs, further prompting him to find another space for them.

With a bit of searching throughout the first floor of the mansion, Ehno had finally found the perfect space. He had chosen an old office room on the right wing of the mansion, not too far from the main living space. This morning was spent clearing out the old furniture from the office into the hallway and dragging his tools, both large and small, down from his room on the second floor. By now the room was barren of all furniture, save for the old desk he left in there to hold his smaller materials temporarily.

Now that it was mid-afternoon, Ehno felt that he could take on his next task. He began to put up a few shelves up on the empty walls. He started with a smaller one he had put together, lining it up as best he could before pulling out the hammer and a few nails from his silly (though very handy) tool belt. A steady ‘THUNK, THUNK, THUNK’ signaled the start of his projected. The noise of his hammer echoed in the nearly-empty room, magnifying itself as it travelled out into the hallway. With this much noise, he was glad that he had waited until the afternoon to start this particular project; he wouldn’t want to wake anyone up.

19th is perfect! Big Grin
300+

Ever since she had found out that she was pregnant it felt like she was living in a dreamworld. At times she was worried that it really was all just some wonderful dream and that at any moment she would wake back up to reality. But it had been almost three days now and she was feeling more and more confident that this was real. So far the only people who knew were Geneva and Kansas. She had wanted to be absolutely certain before spreading the news. Of course with any pregnancy it was never guaranteed to turn out alright. So many things could go wrong in that amount of time. But she did her best not to think about it. It was easy, considering how happy she still was with the news.

The next soul she wanted to tell was Ehno. He was her only family and the second most important person to her. Savina knew that her brother would be happy with the news and she couldn't wait to see his reaction. He would make such a fantastic uncle. As she left her room in the mansion she hoped that he was around and not out exploring somewhere. The girl wanted him to be the next to know but with how excited she was she might not be able to wait to tell someone if he was away. There was a lot of noise coming from one of the downstairs rooms and she decided to investigate that first. It sounded like whoever it was might bring the whole place down!

Bright eyes peering into the room her ebony tail wagged as she took in the sight of her brother. He was hammering something into the wall and a funny type of belt was around his waist. Giggling she walked into the room. "Somiglia a qualcuno intraprende un grande progetto." Savina took a seat not too far from him, subconsciously keeping her front legs close to her belly. She wondered when she would be able to feel them. "L'Ehno, ho alcune notizie." It was impossible to hide her smile or the light dancing in her eyes.

His project was going smoothly so far. The room had been cleared easily enough and he had transferred all of his tools from his room without dropping a hammer on his foot or anything. He was nearly done hammering the first shelf into place, and as far as he could tell it didn’t seem crooked. All that was left was to finish hammering in the support on the right side, and he would be good to move onto the next one. He was nearly finished when he noticed someone join him in the room.

It wasn’t surprising that someone would come to investigate the racket he was making, but he was glad to see that his sister was the first to pop in. With one last pound on the final nail, Ehno finished his work on the small shelf and turned toward his sister. He grinned at her words, placing the hammer in one of the empty pockets of his belt. “Oh, lei mi sa. Entro sempre sopra la mia testa,” he joked. This was the biggest project he had taken on so far, but he hoped it wouldn’t turn out to be too much for him. He seemed to be doing well enough so far.

Savina’s next words grabbed a hold of his attention quickly. Her expression matched the cheer in her words and Ehno found himself already quite excited to hear what this news could be. “Con quel sorriso di vostro, posso presumere solo che sia di molto buona notizie.” He felt an excited smile crawl onto his features as he spoke. The Marino boy stepped out of the way of his new shelf and a little closer to his sister. He leaned against the wall with his arms crossed comfortably over his chest, attention now fully fixed on Savina. “Lo sentiamo.” What could have gotten her so excited?

The Italian fey chuckled at her sibling's words. Even with as high as her spirit was soaring he managed to take it higher. It was a gift he had and just one of the many reasons she loved him. "Certo. Finché lei non ha che bisogno di me per tritarla fuori di più imballa penso che lei sarà bello." She couldn't help but tease him about the incident in the castle. There was some hidden truth behind those words though. For the next few weeks she wouldn't be able to do anything that required her to shift. There were many things about pregnancy she was unaware of, but it was easy to guess that such actions would not be healthy to the infants growing inside of her. It wasn't much of a sacrifice, in most cases she preferred her four-legged form. Really only intimate situations with her mate was when she liked the optime form more.

If possible her smile grew even wider. "Sì. Le molto buone notizie." Playing this game was almost too much. She wanted to shout the news from the top of her lungs and let the entire pack know. Her tail beat happily and rapidly against the floor of the room. Right before she spoke though her ears folded back lightly against her head and she could feel the skin underneath her dark face flush with color. "Lei sarà zio, Ehno." Dancing eyes locked into the golden amber of her brother. Breath caught in her chest as she waited to see how he would react.

Savina’s own words brought out a light chuckle from Ehno to match her own. He couldn’t keep the joking grin from widening on his features as he thought about the adventure he had recently shared with his sibling. "L'approvazione, l'approvazione. Ho imparato la mia lezione, e prometto di stare fuori di qualunque scatole per un mentre." He paused for a moment and then with a mischievous gleam in his eye, he added, "Nonostante penso tuttavia che esso farebbe un gioco di pacco divertente." Despite his joking, he really did intend to keep out of trouble if he could help it. As amusing as it was the first time, he was certain he wouldn’t enjoy any more ‘stuck in a box’ situations.

He was still quite eager to hear his sister’s news. With each passing second, the anticipation grew, and his excitement along with it. His sibling’s widening smile signaled her own growing enthusiasm, and Ehno wondered for a moment if he could recall the last time she looked so happy. And in the next moment, she delivered the news. An uncle? Why would he be an uncle? "Che--" Yet before he could even really begin his question, his mind put two and two together. His eyes widened in realization, a wide, excited smile immediately leaping to his maw. "Lei è incinta!" There was a slight question in his exclamation, but the excitement she displayed left him with little doubt. "Ciò è meraviglioso, Savina!" He couldn’t hold himself back, and before he knew it he had knelt down to her level and wrapped his arms around her in a congratulatory hug.

She didn't even think to respond to the subject of the Ehno-in-box anymore. It was completely pushed aside by the mounting excitement about the news of her pregnancy. She doubted that he would mind. Once he heard the news surely all those thoughts would leave his mind as well and he wouldn't even remember she hadn't said anything in response. The seconds before she had told him seemed to stretch on forever, as well as the time it took him to realize what she had just said. Perhaps she should have been more straightforward, but seeing his confused look turn into one of happiness she was happy to have said it the way that she had.

At his exclamation all she could do was nod her head excitedly. Yes, she was pregnant. Her tail was beating furiously at the floorboards as he knelt down and wrapped his arms around her. The sable woman leaned into the embrace, hugging him with her neck. She was so happy that he was so excited about this. Not that she had expected him to react any different, but it still felt good. "Non è? Sono così contento che lei sarà qui per loro Ehno." While having children would be a joy no matter what, it was important to her that she had at least one family member there with her. Aside from their mother there was no one she'd rather have here than him. She wanted to make sure that her pups understood and valued their Italian heritage and that would be so much easier with her brother there to help.

Ehno was once again grateful to that strange twist of fate, or the fickle whims of destiny, that had brought him to these lands to be with his sister. He would have been so disappointed to have missed this moment. Just the thought of not being able to see his nieces and nephews grow—or not even knowing that they had been born at all—would have been devastating to him. "Sono contento che posso essere qui per loro, anche." This was quite an exciting moment in their lives, and he was so thankful that he would not miss it.

He pulled back from their hug, that wide, excited smile still on his face. The chocolate-hued male remained kneeling on the ground, looking directly into his sister’s emerald eyes. He could see her own excitement plain as day on her features. "Lei sarà una madre meravigliosa," he said, and he meant it. Savina was always so kind and gentle and he was certain that she would do a wonderful job. And he had seen her watching Naniko’s pups plenty of times, playing games with them and teaching them when necessary. There was no doubt in Ehno’s mind that his sibling would be a great parent. Already he could not wait to see that day arrive.

While her real, blood family was small they meant the world to her. That was one of the reasons she held onto Ehno so tightly. Their mother was gone and the gods knew where Ghita was. When it came to the Marino family it was just the two of them in these foreign lands. Well, that would soon change. The name of their mother and themselves would live on, even if it didn't back in Italy. "Li voglio sapere dell'Italia. Li voglio capire questo lato della loro famiglia, e la voglio mi aiutare con ciò." Savina wanted them to understand the language that was native to her. To tell them the stories she always loved of the Roman empire. For them to understand the importance of the sea. The surname Marino had certainly earned its meaning by the way that the two of them had arrived here.

Under her midnight fur she could feel herself blush at his words. While her fears about being a good mother were minimal, it felt so good to hear him say that. He knew how wonderful Amata had been just as much as she did. To hear that her sibling thought that she could maybe live up to their mother's great example filled her with joy. "Ringraziarla Ehno, ciò significa molto a me" Her head turned down to her stomach. It wasn't visible yet, but she doubted it would take much time before it was. One paw rubbed against it gently. "Se c'è una ragazza che voglio nominare un dopo la mamma." Looking back into his happy amber eyes she wondered how he would feel about that idea.

Ehno loved his new home, he truly did. But part of him would always long to be back in Italy, to see the sights that were familiar to him as a growing child. He definitely did not want that culture to be forgotten by his expanding family, so when Savina asked him to help teach the unborn pups about their homeland and their culture, he smiled warmly. "Certo l'aiuterò." He could already imagine how much fun it would be to teach the little ones all about Italy and its language. There were so many tales and histories he could relay to them. He knew it would be a fun task.

He seated himself into a more comfortable position on the ground, still eye-level with his sister. The chocolate-hued male gave her a quick, affectionate nudge at her thanks. He watched as his sibling took a glance at her stomach, his own eyes following her gaze. His thoughts mirrored her own, wondering briefly how long it would be until the pregnancy was visible. Ehno brought his gaze back up when Savina spoke again. A sad feeling came over him for a moment at the thought of their dearly departed mother. She may be gone from this life but Ehno felt that she was watching over their family even now, wherever she was. He knew she would be proud. The Italian boy smiled at his sister’s words, nodding in agreement. "Penso che ciò sia un'idea meravigliosa. Mamma sarebbe allettata. "

I feel like I'm babbling XD 300+

It was funny to think one their side, all they would have was their mother and uncle. Yet on their father's side they would be connected to one of the most prominent and extensive families in the lands. Even she didn't know who all Kansas was related to. There were his siblings of course, and Iskata, and his rather unpleasant half-brother, but who else? Iskata had made it sound like there were members of the Sadira clan in almost every nook and cranny. It was a somewhat comforting thought though. That wherever her children went around here there would be some form of family. But that was also why she felt it so important that the Marino heritage be a big part of their lives.

Savina saw the flash of sorrow in her brother's eyes. Even now it was still hard to believe that she was no longer in this world with them. She felt the same way that Ehno did though. She knew that somewhere she was still watching over them. They would always carry a part of her with them. Ever since she had lost Amata she had wanted, whenever she was blessed with children, to name one after her. That time was soon to come and she was glad that Ehno liked the idea as well. "Sono contento che lei pensa di sì. La mamma guarderà sopra loro, giusto come guarda sopra noi." It was upsetting that the pups would never know their grandmother, but she would tell them about her. Her memory would live on.

Looking back around the room and then back to the odd little belt around her brother's waist she grinned at him. "Dunque che è tutto poi? Non ho visto che lei sia così coinvolto in qualcosa ama questo per tanto tempo."

Sorry, this is late and horrible.

Ehno was almost surprised to see how quickly his family was expanding for him now. When he first arrived here and was reunited with his sister, he discovered just how small his family had become while he was off seeing the world. His mother had died in a tragic accident, and Ghita and her mate both disappeared after her miscarriage. For a while it was simply Savina and himself. Then Kansas came along, joining their small family and connecting the Marinos to the large Sadira line. And now Savina was to be a mother herself . He smiled at his sister's words. "Sì, farà." She would always be watching this family grow. Ehno was glad that he was here to see it too.

Savina's attention then seemed to focus on their surroundings, emerald gaze wandering across the room, resting finally on Ehno and his silly tool belt. He saw the curiosity in her gaze as she questioned him. Rather than answer her right away, like he had originally intended, the Italian boy instead struck the pose the man on the tool belt package was perpetually stuck in; hands on his hips, head to the side as if gazing at some distant object. "Stupire, non è?" He couldn't remain serious for very long in such a silly pose, and before long a grin appeared on his features. He laughed, relaxing from his pose. "Si... ha cominciato fuori dall'hobby come appena un po'divertente, ma indovino ho preso un pezzetto avvolto su in esso." He smiled, looking around for a moment. "Penso il suo divertimento. Ed ehi, il migliore le mie abilità di carpenteria prende, il più posso aiutare il pacco."

*hugs* Maybe wrap this up in the next couple posts?

Savina was also surprised to see their family growing so quickly, but it made her so happy. After Ehno had left for his journey, Ghita disappeared, their mother had died and she had ended up here she had worried that she would always be without her family. Before the two Marino siblings had been reunited she had more or less resigned herself to the fact that she probably would never see either her brother or sister again. But the fates had smiled down on them and brought them to the same new place. Ever since their tiny family had been expanding. It felt like the last piece of home was finally falling into place.

The Italian girl couldn't help but burst into laughter as Ehno struck his little pose. She could feel moisture gather at the corners of her eyes. "Oh sì, stupendo abbastanza veramente." She wiped her eyes with the back of her paw as her laughter subsided. The smile she gave him as he explained his hobby was deep and warm. The fey was glad to see him really getting involved in something that he obviously enjoyed. She had noticed that he was staying around the pack more often and also made her feel content. Maybe this was just the thing he needed to feel content in one place. "Ciò è grand'Ehno. Sono contento che lei ha trovato qualcosa lei piace," she said, tail thumping against the floor. "E lei hanno ragione, sono sicuro che aiuterà il pacco fuori da molto. Somiglia a lei prendono abbastanza buono a esso!"

<3 Sounds good to me.

When Ehno first started tinkering around with wood-working, he had intended for it to simply be a little hobby. Maybe if he got bored one day, or if he suddenly felt a creative urge, he would grab the few tools he found laying around and work on a small project. It had certainly started out that way, but the more he worked, the more he realized that he thoroughly enjoyed doing it. He slowly began to put more of his free hours into the task, and before he knew it, he had a large collection of tools and materials and nowhere to put them. Now that he had a designated space to do his work, it was beginning to feel like an official job for him.

His new interest in carpentry had done wonders to quell the wanderlust that still remained with him now, even after his year long journey. It was something concrete for his mind to focus on, keeping his thoughts from wandering to the mysterious unknown that lay beyond the Crimson Dreams boundaries. The Italian boy was especially glad that he would be spending more time around the packlands now that his family was growing. He didn't want to miss a moment with Savina and her unborn pups.

He was glad to hear that she thought that he would be able to help the pack some with his new skills. Ehno smiled, fiddling idly with one of the straps on his tool belt. "Potrei dover inventare anche qualcosa per lei ed i cuccioli," he said, smile widening. That would definitely be a fun project to take on.

While in her heart she knew that Ehno would never leave her, not like he had so long ago, she still couldn't help but worry at times that the world would call to him again and he wouldn't be able to resist. She admired him for his adventurous spirit, she always had. Yet now that she was so happy and settled where they were, she wanted him to stay. If he took little trips every now and then she wouldn't mind. She just wanted to know that he would always return to her and their new home. But this new hobby seemed to calm much of his wandering spirit. Also the fact that he would soon have little ones to help keep an eye on and teach the woman had no doubt would keep him around. Her children would have all the things that they had been denied. A father and a loving, accepting pack to care for them.

Her smile widened and she stood up to walk over to her brother, nuzzling against his leg. "Ciò sarebbe Ehno meraviglioso. Ciò amerei realmente." The fact that he would be here for his futures nieces and/or nephews still continued to warm her heart. He was so important to her, she couldn't imagine not having him around for such an important time in her life. Aside from Kansas, the person she wanted there the most was Ehno. "Andiamo fare una passeggiata fuori. Amerei l'aria fresca e sono sicuro che lei potrebbe usare una piccola rottura. Somiglia a lei è stato a questo tutto il giorno." Savina flicked her tail at her brother as she walked towards the door, keeping her eyes on him. In only a few weeks almost all her days would be spent in the mansion. She needed to soak up the outdoors while she still could.

Yayyy

Despite how a part of his heart would always long for adventure and to see the unknown, the rest of his heart belonged to his family. He had missed his mother and his siblings dearly while he was on the road, and he had lost nearly all of them while he was gone. He knew that they had missed him just as much, especially Savina. He didn’t want to put them through that again, and his determination to remain with the family that he had seemed to grow stronger now that his family was growing larger. For their sake, as well as his own, he would remain in Crimson Dreams as long as they were there with him.

As Savina stood up and nuzzled his leg lovingly, he couldn’t keep himself from leaning down once more and wrap his arms around her in a hug. His smile was wide, simply a small way of revealing how incredibly happy he was at that moment. He nodded at her suggestion of taking a walk, laughing a little and scratching the back of his head a little out of embarrassment from spending so much time working. He had been working rather hard that afternoon to get the room finished up and ready for use. Taking a break outside in the cool, fresh air sounded wonderful. " Una passeggiata sarebbe grande," he said with a smile. Standing, he took a moment to untie the tool belt from his waist, laying it down on the shelf he had just finished putting up. The Italian boy turned then, following his sister down the hallway and out of the mansion to enjoy the fresh air with his sibling.
