halfway there

This was the farthest that the AniWaya girl had been from her den. She'd made it all the way to the edge of the packlands and was quietly peering out across the lands at the layers of snow and tiny tuffs of grass that were peeking out here and there. She didn't think that it looked all that different than from where she lived but momma Tayui said she wasn't to leave the edge of their lands so she just contented herself with roaming along the edge, trying to see if there was anything interesting out there atleast. So far, there was nothing very appealing about these unclaimed lands.

The child was growing tired and was just about to plow back into the snow and race through the woods to find the comforts of momma's side and the warm den when she thought she saw a flash of color on the other side of the fence. She paused a second and looked around for any older packmates before she squeezed under the fencing and raced after the bright flicker of color in the middle of the field. Her tiny flag of a tail waving as she laughed to herself. She had done it now!

Of course, like always when she'd come across the glitter that she'd seen so far away it wasn't as exciting or worthy of escaping. She sat down next to the strange old human artifact, a glass bottle that was half buried in the snow. The price wasn't worth her time and the small puppy growled at it for what trouble it could have got her into. If it had been worthy booty she wouldn't be so cross, but instead the little one kicked snow over it in disgust and tried to scamper back to her own side of the fence where she would be safe and innocent of the crime she'd just committed.

The small girl had wandered farther than she ever had before. She wanted to find the treasures she'd buried back at that cabin before daddy Haku had come and taken them to the new place. She didn' t know it but she'd gone hundreds of miles all on her own. She knew she'd been travelling for days. Soon she would have to turn around. She yawned. Since the day she'd caught the squirrel, she'd gotten better, and had managed to keep herself fed. That was good for the Dahlia girl.

A flicker of movement caught her attention, and she looked to where it had come from. Another pup had squeezed under a fence, heading away from her. She straightened, her tail raising in excitement. She moved forward, letting out a little bark of greeting. The day was warmer than it had been, and it made the chocolate and cream girl happy. Making a new friend would make her even happier.

Oceane had thought that she'd been caught by one of her packmates when she'd heard the bark of greeting, but when she'd risen up from the snow to cast her sea foam eyes about to find the caller she found that atleast she was wrong. She flicked her little ears back unsure if she was suppose to be getting caught by outsiders, even if they were just puppies like her. Looking about to make certain mommy wasn't coming to find her little explorer she grinned and ran back to the fence to call after the stranger.

"Hey, what cho doing?" she yipped, wondering just where the puppy had come from, there were no other children in the tribe and she knew little of the packs and clans from about the lands. Her bright eyes shining with excitement as she knew that talking to the stranger, even being a child was bad.. but she was ALWAYS such a good girl, there was something inside her that wanted to be bad, she just hadn't figured it out yet.

Willow grinned as the girl spoke to her, her stubby tail wagging. "I sploring! My name's Willow Soul, oo's you?" The chocolate and creme girl moved forward more, getting closer to the other girl, squeezing under the fence and entering fully into Aniwaya territory. She studied her new friend through curious baby blue eyes, her tail wagging excitedly.

She only knew of phoenix valley and dahlia, two packs in which she'd lived. She didn't remember much about Phoenix valley though, just the smell of cows. Daddy Haku had taken them to Dahlia when she was still young. She also knew mommy and tal both warned her away from Inferni. they said coyotes were bad. Coyotes scared her, although she'd never seen one before.

The little girl from the tribe really didn't know how to take this stranger who wasn't suppose to be there but was so inviting since she was about her age and Oceane was so tired of playing with just her sibling all the time. She couldn't help but wag her tail happily in return as she gave in to the temptation and answered. "I'm Oceane Aston! Where's you from, 'splorer!"[/b she asked as she closed the distance between them, sending snow scattering across the space.

[b]"Cho wanna play?"
she asked before even getting an answer to the first question. Oceane had been so excited to explore her own home and now she had her own strange new friend to explore and play with that everything was just so much better. The small one didn't know if Willow was from a pack or a clan or even if there was really anything bad that came out of either. She heard the adults talk of such things but it always put her to sleep so she'd sort of shut out all hushed excited gossip that floated about though she did keep it stored for a rainy day. Nothing had had happened yet..
