YOU MIGHT NOT FEEL IT NOW

Talitha was lurking on the outskirts of the city, bored out of her mind. She couldn't think of a reason why, either; Halifax was one of her favourite places to be, but right then the entire world seemed like it existed for no reason at all. Nothing had a purpose. Slouching along, the two-legged halfling kicked at an old water bottle as she walked, watching as it rattled down the street. Not even the weather made her happy. It was getting warmer, and her feet were soaked from stepping in snow that looked solid but turned out to be the complete opposite. She couldn't feel it much. She couldn't feel anything, much.

Circling some old houses that were growing mold on their rooftops, she caught sight of an old park in the middle of a minuature valley. It was surrounded with the fenced-in backyards of the homes that had been built around it. The sandbox was mostly defrosted, and one of the swings on the old swingset still hung there, likely rusted as all hell, but still useable. Distracted by the neon yellow slide and the red and blue see-saw, Tal veered off, abandoning her bottle, and stepped into the sand. Padding forward, she grabbed the chainlinks holding up the swing and sat down, pushing herself forward a little. It would take a while to get some momentum, probably -- this would be easier with two.

OOC: Hello and welcome to the delay of utter fail

Brooklyn had returned to Halifax on her own. Her little trip with Jazper had been loads of fun and she'd found so many nice things, but really, she wanted time to explore the place at her own pace. If she'd asked anyone back home they would have come with her someone would have agreed, but then that took half the fun away. The whole point of growing up was to be more independent, something Brooklyn really wanted to try. So without so much as a peep she had snuck out of the house and crossed the lands, trying to look as if she had business somewhere.

It had been easier than expected. Soon the white pup was running through the city, the sound of her paws hitting the ground the only thing to break the monotony. She liked Halifax, it was always so quiet. Here she could think properly, mostly about being a prince and how she would go around and save princesses, but sometimes about how to hunt or be a better sister to her siblings. Haven she loved dearly, but sometimes arguing with Mati was so tiring she wished they could just get along. The sound of a low screech made her stop. There was someone else here? Walking slowly towards the noise, Brooklyn happened upon a park she and Jazper must have overlooked. There was someone else there too, a wolf on two legs. The white pup walked closer with no real regard to her own safety. She was a child, what harm could she do? Stepping into the playground, she stopped and silently stared at the female. If she wanted to be alone, Brooklyn would just leave, no questions asked. But maybe they could play together!

Look, I can delay of utter fail too! >>;

YOU MIGHT NOT FEEL IT NOW

Even as she did it, the doggish hybrid girl knew she'd get bored quickly. She tended to tire of things quickly without company; it amazed her she had existed in that damn void for so long. But she plodded on anyway, swinging her legs in time to speed herself up, feeling the weightlessness as she got higher and higher. The sky was nice, she thought vaguely to herself as she swung, watching the clouds slowly drift by. This was an attempt to distract herself; she was sick of dwelling on things that shouldn't matter anymore. She didn't want to hide forever.

The smell of something -- wolf -- drifted her way and she slowed, the thoughts in her heas silenced as she watched a stranger wander forward towards her from outside the wet, muddy playground. Normally, a wolf would've put Tal on guard, but there were several reasons why this one didn't; first, this one was female, and second, she was very young. Not to mention unshifted, which was always a plus. Dragging a foot in the sand to stop herself, Tal raised a brow at the girl, matching her silence for a few moments before speaking. "Hey," the hybrid said, blinking curiously, "what are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be with your wolf pack?"

OOC: Haha, I fail more than you do now!

She was shifted. Brooklyn couldn't help but stare. There was this air of grace and careless beauty to her that she couldn't place. It wasn't exactly like Savina and her mothers, it was a different, more exotic kind of thing. Certainly nothing that the girl had ever seen before and she could feel herself growing slightly jealous of this stranger. She wanted to shift, too. She wanted to run up and down the city streets on two legs. She wouldn't be graceful or beautiful, like Mati, she would strong, athletic. Like a prince. The way this other girl swung on whatever she was swinging on, now that was graceful. Like a dangerous dance. Brooklyn yearned to try it herself.

The white female was startled when addressed. She hadn't exactly been hiding, that much was obvious, but the words that were spoken surprised her. As far as she could tell, this girl was a wolf too. Not like her. Not like any wolf she'd ever seen before, but she didn't look like a deer or a cat. Wolf pack? But... aren't you a wolf too? Brooklyn inched forward. So far there seemed to be no threat. And if anything should arise, she could just run away. Not entirely princely, but she wouldn't die. I'm Brooklyn D'Angelo, what's your name?
