She had found it. She had found her furnace, but she was still frustrated for the simple reason that it was not here. Matrix sighed and tapped her fingers against the ground as she listened to the wind whipping by outside. It sounded brutal, and occasionally a strong gust could still be felt within the greenhouse. Conditions were still not suitable for growing, and she knew that they wouldn't be until she could get the furnace here to repair the broken glass. At that point, any heat from the sun would actually stay within the greenhouse, rather than getting whisked away by the brisk winter breezes. The furnace could provide additional heat. After all, the old dead plants had been cleared out, the old soil had been replaced, and she had already fixed the door that had fallen off. That was all fantastic.
Reaching into her bag, the hybrid pulled out a handful of the small green-brown seeds and studied them carefully. They were dormant now, but they would still grow once they were exposed to moisture and heat. With a snort, she realised that this whole project may take so long that she might as well toss them on the ground outside. Springtime seemed closer than getting her furnace. She even had found a dolly of sorts to transport it, but it would take... days. Maybe even a week. The real issue was lifting the furnace onto the dolly, and for that she had one man in mind: Skoll. But where the hell was the bronze wolf her mother called a friend? He seemed to be making himself scarce, and she hadn't caught his scent in weeks. Maybe somebody else could help her? Discouraged, she put the seeds away, closed her eyes, and leaned her head back against the cold glass wall of the greenhouse.
