First Kol, then Gabe, I think. 500+

The man moved towards his destination. He was glad he had company, because the outcome if he had done this alone would be rather ugly, he knew. He had stalked the lands close to the coyote clan several times, even close to borders, but he had taken care to avoid the scent of the Inferni leader for the sake of peace. Were Haku’s crimes that serious? Even if they were, Haku’s mind was not able to grasp how much of a difference it was between killing a mother and a child rather than two adults. In the end they all looked the same to him. One member, two members, the size or age did not matter. The child would eventually have grown up and become twisted like the rest of the clan, which was all he could see. Everything looked the same in the eyes of a psychopathic killer. The chocolate coated male looked sideways to the raven female by his side. Could it have been Inferni that had gotten rid of his sons as well? If he ever was to find proof the clan would be wiped off the surface of the earth. Though, he did not think so. There was something that did not make sense. Firefly had been full of her own blood and someone else’s, but when he and Firefly had reached the cabin where Firefly and his son’s blood was the only trace, there had not been any other clear scent. It did not fit, but he did not want to believe that his mate would have done such a thing, at least not to her own flesh and blood, just to hurt him. The future would prove him wrong, but at the moment the children were still gone.

When they reached the lines of skulls, the cream muzzled male lifted his face to call for the infamous hybrid. He would it peculiar that the clan was so hostile by nature towards other wolves when most of them were watered out hybrids with more wolf in them than coyote. Hypocrites. He sat down and placed his short tail around his feet, waiting with dread for the unreasonable man that had been called for. If he decided not to come Haku would gather some more and find the guilty coyote himself, no matter what the rest of the clan thought about it. Dahlia de Mai was larger than the coyote clan, so it was no longer a risk to get outnumbered. Such a shame Cercelee insisted on keeping her self portrait as a saint, her foolish pride and justice harmed Dahlia’s members in the end. Cwmfen had almost died because of her weakness. He had only waited for the coyotes to break the official truce between the two groups, and it had happened eventually, with a Dahlia member close to death. He doubted Gabriel de le Poer would listen to reason, but Haku would be a good boy for Cercelee and Cwmfen and attempt to solve this peacefully, but he had no expectations whatsoever. It would be an interesting meeting at least, so perhaps this would not be completely worthless.

She knew the path well by now. Many nights the black female had followed this same trail from Dahlia to the doorstep of Inferni, the scout looking for any possible clue as to the whereabouts of the pack's missing children. Like shadows, the two secui wolves moved through the darkness, the Circee's ears twitching to catch any sound that told of impending threat. Though they were in neutral lands for the moment, the air was alive with tension.

Kol spared her leader a glance when he looked down at her, her violet eyes shining against her charcoal fur. Her thoughts were along the same track as the male's, though neither one knew it. In all of her excursions, she'd found not a single drop of evidence pointing to Inferni as the culprits behind the boys' disappearance. In fact, she'd been the first one on the scene after the supposed abduction, and there was no trace of anyone's scent but those who belonged there. The strongest were Haku, Firefly, and the boys themselves, followed by the fainter traces of Alexey and a few others. Not a single scent was out of the norm, which in and of itself did not feel right. The kidnapping had to have been an inside job, there was no other explanation.

The Stormbringer's musings were broken as the pair reached the borders of the hybrid clan. As Haku called clearly to the male known as Gabriel, Kol pulled her haunches beneath her, taking her own seat at the Lilium's right side. The white splash on her chest and her vivid amethyst eyes were the only break in the darkness she melted into by his side, the night their constant companion and ally through all the turmoil. Patiently, Kol waited for the arrival of the one who'd been called, her chest rising and falling softly against the whisper of the night wind.

The dream had come again. A woman bound and gutted, thrown onto a cross and high in the air. Pikes cut her feet and sent blood pouring like a river, and her eyes rolled, wide, lifeless. She continued to bleed, bleeding more and more and more before a familiar voice cut through his nightmare like a knife. Gabriel’s eyes snapped open in the darkness and he felt that familiar fury reverberating in his chest. He rose and left the cave, aware of his son stirring and waking in his absence. It didn’t matter. Ezekiel knew better then to approach his father in such a state.
Gabriel did not stop, and when he reached the border found himself greeted with two wolves. Both stood taller then he, but the Aquila did not fear this. He feared nothing but God Himself. Impulse roared and demanded he cut down the blue-eyed man then and there, but his companion prevented this. Reason held him like a cold vice; the same discipline that his mother had instilled in him.
The doggish male remained standing, lupus form clearly at a disadvantage were this to become violent. He was aware of this. He was aware of everything around him, as the paranoid are. “What?”

Thankfully it did not take long. The chocolate and cream male stared almost amusingly as the Inferni leader entered the scene. His question was simple, and that was bluntly what Haku wanted. He only did this because Cercelee would start to flip out if she figured out Haku was going out on coyote hunting. Well, did it really matter? The Rosea was never happy with her anyway, so why did he bother go out of his way for her? Silly, so silly. He missed doing whatever he felt like doing, he wanted to be free and go on a rampage. Blue eyes rested comfortably on the doggish hybrid’s features. ”I need a name on one of your clan members. Male, red eyes, mixed fur with shades of brown and perhaps a bit black, a rather violent one that tried to kill one of our highest ranked members in Dahlia.” Cwmfen had not know, but he was sure that Gabriel would know. Or perhaps not, was not the whole Inferni clan quite wacko? ”Does he sound familiar?”

Short because there's not much she can do at the moment!

It wasn't long before the false calm of the night was broken by the arrival of the one Haku had called. The hybrid approached the wolf pair proudly, but cautiously. Gabriel may have been many things, but it was well-known he was not at all stupid, and he was wise to keep his distance. Kol had no intention of starting any trouble, but as Haku's backup support, she'd be more than happy to finish any that might erupt.

The dark girl had half hoped the one who'd answer would have been Anselm, the curious hybrid she'd shared company with one night beneath the stars. The violet-eyed wolf would never forget how crushed she was when she saw his face amongst the combatants in the final battle between their packs, and she'd made it a point to avoid the male in the fray at all costs. She'd been fond of him, and it had saddened her greatly to mark that male as an enemy. Kol hadn't seen the hybrid since the battle, and she wondered lightly if he was even around anymore. His scent at the Inferni border was faded nearly to vanishing.

Seeing as it was not her star-crossed friend who answered the chocolate male's call, Kol had no influence whatsoever in the proceeding talk. She remained seated beside her leader, a statuesque shadow in the dead of night.

There might have been electricity between them, the way the heat rose from their hysteresis loss. Gabriel’s eyes remained focused on Haku alone, burning, silently speaking a thousand promises of apocalypse and fire. He would burn down all of Dahlia if that was what it would one day take to kill the man. This was not his intent, and he would not break his pact with their leader, but by God one day he would see that man’s head on a pike.
It did not surprise him that a coyote had attacked a member of their pack. It did not surprise him that it was Hybrid, or that the man had gone after a leader. What surprised him was this display; it was not Haku’s usual standard. “He does,” the Aquila offered shortly. “You didn’t just come here for a name, though.” No question. If that had been all that was required then he would not have come at all.

Of course not. Haku was not only here for the coyote's name. He was here to most likely get rejected and turned away. Everything would be fairly easy if Gabriel let go of the member and handed him to the two Dahlia wolves, but the Lilium highly doubted it would come to that. If Gabriel had come to Dahlia borders demanding something similar, Haku would have almost certainly refused, no matter the crime had been committed. Well, it depended if Cercelee would be there or not. Righteous Cercelee on her high horse. Brilliantly blue eyes took in the amber ones of the hybrid. "Of course not. Inferni and Dahlia had a truce, and it has been violated by one of your members." The chocolate man paused a moment before he continued. "I want his name, and I want him. I want you to hand him over to us so that justice can be served so that the truce will still stand." The male perked his ears backwards, awaiting a reply. Kol was quiet beside him, but she was far from useless, even though she had no big part to play in this matter. It was good with a sentry, a securance, present.

Kol watched with cold eyes as the leaders conversed. She was there as backup, not counsel, unless she felt she had something of worth to add to the negotiation. There was no doubt this would not go smoothly, and frankly she was impressed with the Lilium for even giving it a shot for Cercelee's sake. There were many, including her immediate family, who would have simply barged into Inferni to find the culprit and asked questions later. However, in Kol's mind, Haku was doing the proper thing for the sake of the truce and attempting to talk first. Starting the conflict between the hybrid clan and Dahlia once again would be devistating for either side at this point. Dahlia had small pups amongst its numbers now, and the pack's primary focus was in making sure they survived and learned to be the future of Dahlia. Kol would honestly be surprised if Inferni were not in a similar situation, and if they did not view their own progeny in the same manner. Talking things through first would be best for both sides.

It would only be a matter of moments to see if the peaceful visit would all be in vain.

For all of the terrible things that Gabriel knew Haku capable of, he was most certainly aware of his leash. That was why they were facing each other now, speaking in such tones. That was why he had not come alone or come to Inferni without hesitation or regard for their borders or proper protocol. The corners of Gabriel’s mouth pulled back, a grimace that might have been a smile were the situation not so dire. “Drop your pretense,” the hybrid demurred. “You would do me no such favor. Nor do you have the authority to threaten war.” Cercelee had made that point remarkably clear upon their last meeting. His eyes remained focused; clear and silently challenging. The need and desire to destroy the demon before him was almost unbearable. “Since he did not kill, I expect the same should you find him outside of Inferni territory.”

This is kind of horrible, sorry. 300+

The leash was all but visible, but it was there. Haku had started a war before between two forces without being a part of any of them, but together with a powerful position on one side, his limitations grew and pinned him down. Truth be told, Haku was his own master and fiercely believed that he could do whatever he wanted without having to answer to anyone, not even a God. He had the power to start a new war, but in the end it would end up with him alone up against a whole group. He would have to choose another strategy to get Dahlia to dance again, because they did not bow down to the same trick twice. The only reason why the Dahlia and Inferni tension had managed to evolve into a war was because the first strike had been lithe and deceiving, driving Inferni to strike before they realized that they had run into a trap.

He watched the grimace bloom on the Inferni leader’s face, but his own stayed dull and unchanged. He took in the mocking words (in Haku’s mind) directed at him, but resisted giving a shrug. The Lilium believed he could do whatever he wanted, so he judged the man’s words as wrongful, though there was definitely truth there. The next words fitted the secui even less. ”I never excepted justice from you.” His words were dry, but truth be told, he had expected a stronger rejection of the request, together with a bit more poison. Maybe the hybrid did not want to sink down to Haku’s level. ”If I meet an Inferni member in Dahlia or anywhere else, there is a solid chance they will magically disappear. I do not want to play any games, Gabriel. The intention of your man was to kill, and it was only luck that kept him from reaching his goal. In my opinion your clan has violated the truce, and therefore I will consider myself free to do the same if the opportunity rises.”

Haku was not fair, but it was his image of justice that he followed. Truth be told, he did not usually use justice when he worked with his hobby. He would not actively run after the clan in any way, but he was sure to come down hard on lonely individuals that wandered too close to Dahlia or bugged the blue eyed brute in general.

The blue-eyed devil’s companion was silent, and Gabriel understood her purpose as such. In this world she was nothing; there was only Gabriel and Haku. They were forced to obey the rules of war. Gabriel knew that as long as Haku remained bound by his loyalty to Cercelee (a relationship that seemed peculiar to the man) there would be no war. There would be strife, and there would be conflict, but there would be no war.
He smiled thinly, entertained by the concept. “You will find justice by my hand, Haku,” the Aquila promised through his thinly veiled threat. Flicking one ear, a dismissive motion, he continued. “Should any happen to disappear, I’ll know who to hold accountable then. As far as our truce, I’ll talk to your superior on the matter if she feels the same.” The corner of his mouth hooked back, smiling in spite of the situation. For all his flaunt and brass, Haku was bound to a woman smaller then either of them.
     “Go home. We’re finished here.”

The Haku Cercelee relationship was an odd one, and Haku understood it least of all. He usually kept his promises if he tried, but he was also able to break them. It was not yet time for such a move though, but it would probably come in the future. This visit to the coyote clan had not been pointless in the man’s opinion. Tension was ever present, but they both knew it was fragile, and that the possibility of spilled blood was there, although there would be no conflict that would grow into a war. No, not yet. Damn that white female with the blue eyes. He took in Gabriel’s threat, and simply shrugged it away. It was quite possible Gabe would be the one to close his jaws around the cocoa male’s throat, but this belonged to the future. The rest the other man said did not matter, this was over. ”I’m glad you’ll have someone to run to.” Haku could be a childish bastard, but as long as it gave him some sense of odd satisfaction, he did not feel the need to be above such things. Haku made a quick gesticulation with his head to Kol. This was over. Her part had been a boring one, but it would have been impossible to pull such a meeting off without a third party. The secui turned and left, shortened tail waving contently behind him, a constant reminder of the insanity that seemed to live in all coyotes.
