DaVinci didn't know what the hell he was doing anymore, he'd lost everything that had meant anything to him and the strings that the queen of his heart held had become so tight that he couldn't do anything but cut them, for what he thought was for the best. Now as slowly time moved on and his plans seemed to have crumbled with no steady ground to stand upon the male had turned into a backsliding fool. The nature of the man had turned from the simple comforts to a darker nature slowly and he wasn't ready to admit it, just how much he needed her... yet he just had to see her.

The silvery blue male sat upon the bluff watching for Ryan, hoping that sooner than later she'd appear. The stretch of beach on the outskirts of Inferni had been where she'd brought Val to play and he expected it was one of the few placed that the girl loved. She'd told him just that, how much she'd like the seaside, she'd even asked to visit his home to see the new angle on the sea.. and what did he do instead.. he broke her mother's heart and probably destroyed any chance of seeing the small family again.

The male bowed his head and sighed, knowing that what he'd done was for the best.. but could he live a half life for the betterment of the world around him or was being selfish for once well enough worth it to have the woman back in his arms. He didn't know and no one else had the answers but the two of them.

It seemed peculiar, to Gabriel, that in the course of only a few weeks he had gone from complete isolation to a full house, and then back again. His son and Siobhan had taken up residence not that far from his own home, and Zana (whom he had now confirmed as his niece) was living with Ryan. Faolin and the man she had arrived with were like ghosts, and he could no longer ignore the suspicion brewing in his heart. It was a slow thing, but it was vicious—and as he responded to all pain, anger was the answer.

He walked along the shore in the chance she was there, that he might find them, that perhaps all the hope he had once held for her was for naught. Doubt plagued each step, a whispering voice that sounded not unlike his father’s. This pattern had held the same for several days now, and each time he came here the anger grew.

It crested as an all-too familiar sight appeared just outside of their borders. Gabriel could not contain his fury, and it rushed over his features. The hair along his spine rose, and his lips pulled back in a vicious snarl. “Get the fuck out of here,” he barked loudly, advancing quickly towards the silver hybrid.

DaVinci had figured that his luck would of course run out like it always seemed to do the closer he got to the edge of Inferni. His quiet thoughts were lingering on his mind once more as the scent of the Aquila came in contact with his sensitive nose. Stormy orbs turned towards the approaching form that seemed so threatening and yet the calm that rolled through the Savant's mind for once didn't seem to care what the leader was roaring about this time. DaVinci knew the male was deadly but the constant snarls and roars were getting old, he was beginning to be reminded of a lion, the damn beast standing just out of reach and issuing threats and insults from across the river, except, there was no river and he was no large cat past his prime.

Those lying blue eyes turned toward Gabriel as he spoke quietly. "If you'd noticed.. these lands don't belong to you.." He knew he was being brass and that he was close enough to Inferni's lands to be considered a threat, if he actually was one. Gabriel should know by now that the silver hybrid meant no harm to anyone within the clan, except perhaps Hybrid, but that was another matter. He was tired of Gabriel acting like he was the bad guy in every role and every scene, DaVinci wasn't some monster come to terrorize his precious clan, if anyone had the right to be outraged it was DaVinci himself, but instead for the most part the male had ceased to care, he had after all let the girl go...

...whither she came back to him in the end was what made his heart ache so and yet in the slow tick of time marching on was what made the Savant of Phoenix Valley a little reckless in the choices he'd made recently.

There it was again; that itch, that terrible and unreachable thing. He had felt it with Conri. He had felt it with Iskata. Now he felt it with this boy, and he knew that meant something. Ivory teeth, yellowing with time, parted in the salty air. Gabriel imagined he could taste blood. “I don’t give a shit,” the Aquila snapped. No hesitation as he crossed out of the claimed lands, no hesitation as he continued his advance. The arrogance of these wolves was too much—he had tolerated it for the sake of peace, but he could only do so much when they continued to push.
Someone had to be an example. “You get your ass moving or I’ll take the rest of your fucking ear off,” he growled, muscular body closing the distance between them. In a few moments it would vanish completely, and the wolves would have a martyr.

DaVinci took a pace back as he watched the golden eyes of the male before him. He was growing tired of the beast before him and his need for power, even where it wasn't his. DaVinci's ears flattened against his skull as he growled softly. "Give me a good reason why first." he demanded, already on all fours and ready to move in the blink of an eye if the bastard wanted to really take a go at him.

He was close to their lands yes, but he was well within his own rights to travel the shore or pass through the plains. So what if he was admiring the view of the bay from the bluff, or was Gabriel that paranoid. "Afraid you're gonna lose something precious to you.." he asked as his eyes darkened with annoyance at the leader. He knew he was pushing him, but he'd either given up everything or lost it to the clan and he was done being bossed around by a man that wasn't even his own commander.

“I've given you enough warnings,” he growled, tail high and brush-bottled. While Gabriel believed in reason, and he believed in order, there were no more excuses. He needed an example. Gabriel did not fear the gray-silver male and he did not fear his pack. Gabriel read the body language and saw that DaVinci was prepared to run regardless.
So there was no hesitation the moment Gabriel sprung. He rushed forward with a snarl, fully intending to find his mark. Experience told him that the boy would more then likely get away, but if he chose to stay and fight he would be cut down. For whatever else Gabriel believed in, he believed in blood.

ooc, you can PP Gabriel getting a bite in anywhere but on his face then I think DaVi might wisen up. Big Grin

"I didn't ask for a warning.. I asked for a reason." DaVinci shot back with a snarl as he felt the hair along his back raise as his stormy orbs narrowed. He knew he was out of line with the leader of the clan but in his eyes the male had already taken everything that really mattered to him and there wasn't much more he could do to harm him. He knew that Jefferson would pitch a fit if he got into it with another pack or clan and as much as he wanted to he knew he couldn't.

When the larger male came crashing towards him, fangs bared with the snarl on his lips DaVinci dodged to the side and moved off a few yards as he growled. He knew it was stupid to stick around but he couldn't make himself move just yet. Maybe it was suicidal but DaVinci just raised his head and stared at the golden eyed brute, daring him to try again.

I figured his ear wasn't technically his face so it would work. If not, I'll change it. Also, I left this open ended so you can play how bad the wound is.
Mouthy. Arrogant. Gabriel could not see any reason for such a thing in someone who was supposed to be a leader. It was perhaps a fault in his blood; or, rather, a fault in the way he was raised. The Aquila’s body moved with speed that was remarkable for his size, but it was not remarkable enough to draw blood. DaVinci, smaller and spryer, and expecting the attack, avoided him.
It didn’t matter. Gabriel hit the ground and spun, hind legs pushing him up from the soft ground. The next blow went for the face once again; intent on taking the ear his mother had not managed to do so. This time, he connected—he felt something tear and tasted blood.

ooc- lol, you really wanted that ear didn't you.

If there was any fault in DaVinci it wasn't the way he was raised exactly but quite possibly the lack there of. DaVinci had never been thankful for his hybrid blood, but perhaps now he could find reasoning in being thankful for something as his quick speed and lightfootedness saved him from being mauled by the older male. It wasn't enough though as he had turned his eyes back to the Aquila and the leader of the clan was at his throat again.

DaVinci attempted to turn away, to finally make up his mind to move for once but he was seconds too late as the larger male's teeth caught hold of his ear and the hot searing pain sparkled life back into the male. DaVinci snarled, snapping at the other's muzzle and finally pulled himself out of reach, knowing that he didn't get away clean but he could tell that there was still some bit of his dignity, and ear attached.

Ignoring the blood that seemed to throb from his ear the male took to the sands and for once didn't care that he was leaving his whole world behind again. If she wanted to stay nestled in the hollow of the clan then it was fine with him. She'd made her choice and it was clear as all now, there were no second chances.
