While tiny Emwe tried to ignore the rumble of his tummy Firefly knew exactly what it meant and she sighed softly as she ran her fingers softly over his ears. She didn't want to send him on his way home but she knew that there was nothing here for him to eat and that Alexey would probably come looking for him if he didn't appear sometime soon. She pressed her lips softly to the top of Emwe's head as she murmured softly, trying to hide the tears in her eyes as she finally admitted what she knew was true. "Emwe.. it's time for you to go.." She swallowed hard as she went on. "They'll be expecting you back soon and you need to eat to keep up your strength." She leaned back, trying to place a smile on her lips but it seemed to only last a few seconds before failing.
She sighed softly and tickled his little toes, waiting for him to get up, though knowing that he would probably fight her every step of the way if she did manage to get him to head back to his father's... she wandered if perhaps she could get away with the boy staying with her for just one night.
