join! I don’t bite Smile
highrocks

It was nice to see it go. Her heart would be happy to let it all melt away. The snow was soft, where it was still frozen, and threatening to melt each day the degrees ticked upward. The rain helped, and Anu was glad to see that the season was so close to truly changing. The winter had been a hard one, though the snows and storms hadn’t been too frequent or overbearing and prey had always been plentiful. It had been one of transition and change. Two things that Anu did not deal with well. Still she had grown from them, and slowing moving passed the things that had uprooted her life and scattered its pieces. She had no one but herself to blame for all the disruption.

Four paws took her through the forests that speckled the Crimson Dreams landscape. It had been sometime since she had checked the boarders that kept the pack safe and secure. The lands had been expanding as their numbers did, and she cut through new territory, making her way to one of her favorite, though lease visited, places. It was a hike, but her lean frame found the journey nothing but relaxing.

Taking the rocks one at a time she focused on the landscape instead of the whirling thoughts that constantly berated her mind. The smallest of buds, little leaves wrapped around themselves, dotted the trees crooked fingers. Smiling at the small hint of spring she climbed until the rocks grew flat. Black claws clicked over the flat surface of the limestone, and blue eyes opened to find the entire territory expanded out below her. The view forever inviting, she sat and settled while taking in the welcomed silence.

The weather change was really beginning to frighten her. Siobhan wasn't sure what was going on with the snow...the fact that it was dissapearing was so odd to her. She was from the far north, where it stayed snowy all year around--where the only types of precipitation were snow, sleet, or hail, and where the color green simply did not exist. Everything was white white white, all the time. She felt like she was beginning to stick out more from the surroundings, like she couldn't hide any more like she had once been able to. Prey would be able to spot her easily now.

She sighed as she trudged along through the slush, unused to the feeling of grass beneath her paws. Every couple of minutes she would reach a patch that was entirely grass and mud, and her paws would sink down into it an inch or so. Her ears were back and a frown sat upon her face; each step that the young adult made created a gross sucking sound, a sound that she didn't like one bit.

She came to a rocky area soon enough, though, and lept up onto the stones greatfully. She'd come here looking for Haven, so that she might see the place that he lived and explore it with him (if he would allow it), and she didn't want to be all muddy for it. She wanted him to see her looking her best. The necklace that he had given her swung back and forth on her neck, the collection of red gems sparkling in the light. She had brought something for him today, but she didn't know if he would like it. It was something that she thought that a boy would like, stuck into a bag that she was carrying on her back.

The small, unshifted coyote made her way along the rocks, leaving a trail of muddy pawprints behind her. She'd never seen the border of Crimson Dreams from this direction before, and wasn't sure how far she would have to go before she would find someone else.

ooc: Mind if Moose joins as well?

Like a lamb. That's how March had made its exile as the year progressed, and truth be told, Moose was entirely fine with it. Despite his love of the winter season (it reminded him so much of his old home after all), he enjoyed the transition of the seasons from one to the next. Change was always better than stagnation, even if life seemed to constantly try to oppose the very nature of the world.

He had chosen to spend the sunny day wandering in the highrocks area, scouting a place he hadn't spent too much time in since his acceptance into Crimson Dreams. While he had explored most of the territory in its generality, he was still discovering the secrets and intricate subtlties of all the areas. Thus far, he was enjoying the area. Mottled grey fur was tugged on gently by the breeze as these same paws moved forward.

Moose was cutting quite the odd figure at the moment. Regardless of his wolf nature and the outdoor life he lead as such, he had opted to try and avoid the muddy patches altogether, lending himself to a rather awkward movement across the highrocks. He was skipping and jumping from rock to rock, trying not to sink his paws into the boggish areas, turning him into the image of a very large puppy playing a game. Which was, of course, what he had reverted to after a few moments of avoiding the mud. He had been moving through the rocks in this manner when it occured to him just how much fun could be had by dodging these wetter spots.

A laugh parted his muzzle as he moved, enjoying the sunshine and the wind, as well as his self-created game. It was during this laugh he paused and looked about, his amber eyes shrewdly taking in every inch of his progress. It was during this scan he noticed Anu ahead of him, as well as a small white fey he didn't know nearby as well. Feeling like an idiot but not caring that he looked like one, Moose barked a short greeting to Anu.

Her ears heard nothing, only felt the day’s soft wind against the fur the lined them. It was a gentle push and pull, sending lazily this way and that as the wind persuaded. Deep blue eyes looked out into the gorge that the cliffs looked over, the river far enough away that the rapids were only a hushed swift motion below. Trees lined its banks, flowing into the forest that created the think edge around the river; their infant leaves giving no cushion to the sight of the bare limbs. They were her favorite, still. As always, out of all that nature provided she would love them the most.

The feeling drew fresh memories, and she stared into the great open focusing on the sky’s color in hopes of pushing them back down. She shouldn’t find a moment’s rest, without her thoughts drifting back to various moments of time. Each leaving her with mixed emotions, and each having left a different imprint in her heart. It would take years to get used to her constant changes of emotion. She feared she would never be right.

Lost in her thoughts, and so desperately trying to claw herself away from them Anu almost didn’t notice the noise the came from behind her. She swiftly turned her head, cerulean eyes searching for the beast that tried to sneak up on her while she drowned in her self-reflection. What she found was certainly interesting. The form of her packmate filled her gaze, and a smile curved onto her face. It was Moose, and Anu was happy as always to see the large male. Hey there. She responded to his call, taking to her paws to greet him.

As she rose she found the movement of a white form, small like a pup, not far from where they stood. Testing the wind, Anu found Inferni riding heavily upon it. It ventured closer, and the wolf caught a glimpse of the moving coyote. She (from her fragrance) tentatively trotted along, unknowingly growing closer and closer to the two adult wolves.

You lost? She called, though their distance was shrinking the more the other moved. Anu couldn’t think of any other reason for her to venturing into a pack land.

Hearing Anu's voice made the large male's tail wag. The ease with which the pack had accepted him warmed Moose's heart everytime he saw on of his own. Soon after the greeting meant for him, Anu had called to the small fey. His nose raised and his ears perked, trying to identify the stranger.

All he was able to discern was it was, in fact, a she and that she was of the Inferni pack. Sadly he hadn't met many other beyond his extended family. Making a mental resolution to do such, he continued to the place where Anu stood waiting for him.

More than two months had passed since he had stumbled across his new home. Each and every day his memories of the pain and suffering, as well as his battles and bloodshed faded and the scars on his body and soul healed. His mind had lessened the times per day he replayed his last few weeks with Sirce, as well as their exile and her strength. A twang went through his heart as these not quite bitter, but trepidated memories flashed into his mind.

A few more hops brought him to his superior's side. Tongue lolling happily from his mouth, he smiled a wolfish grin at her. "D'ye know tha wee likkle un?" Moose jerked his head in the tiny coyote's direction.

She was a little bit worried about going to find Haven, but he had told her to go ahead and come inside the packlands whenever she came to see him. So she would follow what he said. Siobhan trusted him. The girl had taken a little time away from the orange male, unsure of what to make of the kiss that he had given her, but now she felt ready to seek him out. She liked him a lot, and he ought to know it! She had run away from him back then, not sure of what she could say to him or how she had felt. Or even what he'd done! She'd never been kissed before.

The small adult saw the other two in the distance and paused in her walking. She didn't know what she could tell them, a reason why she was there. Maybe they wouldn't even wait for her to give them a reason. Adelaida's words still stuck with the girl, even though months had passed..that coyotes and wolves didn't get along. That they were enemies. Did wolves here feel that way? Her heart thudded nervously in her chest as she took a few steps foward, keeping her stature that of a submissive creature, head down with her fluffy tail kept low. "...Siobhan...is...is this where Haven lives? Siobhan is looking for Haven!" She called over the short distance.

Eyes didn’t leave the sight of the little coyote; the mud spattered on her legs gave her tan colored boots. The creature stopped as she heard Anu call. She nodded her head at Moose’s question. No, I don’t think so… Her voice trailed when the snowy girls faced the two wolves and her stature becoming submissive and posture low. Blue eyes moved to the large male, then back to the little lady as her voice filled the air.

Siobhan? The name wasn’t familiar, but when she spoke her sons name, there was something that rang in her head. There was only one girl that her son had spoken to her about. And in the same conversation they had spoke of what every parent dreads… Sex.

Addressing the little coyote, Anu gave her best effort to calm her fears. As a sort of mother, and the gentle souls Anu had always been it wasn’t hard to be the sweet beast that came so naturally. You’ve come to see my son? A smile danced lightly on her lips, No, he doesn’t live right here. But you aren’t to far away. Anu let her eyes fall back to Moose, wondering if he understood that the Inferni girl would be welcome among them. She was sure he didn’t mind.

A quite glance between the young fey and Anu's relaxed posture assured Moose that everything was okay. Not that he had expected to attack a creature so inexperienced in the world, nor to trump his superior's actions with rash ones of his own.

Seating himself next to Anu, he studied the small coyote. Her pelt was muddied from her ascent into the territory, and she seemed very driven. Her words spoke of Haven, whom Moose to be Anu's son despite having never met him. Mentally noting again the scent of Inferni in his nares, he allowed his eyes and mind to drift along the landscape.

He had never been in this area before, not long enough to truly study it. The rippling of water reached his ears from a distance, and he knew the river that ran along the edge of the rocks was nearby. That was another place he was heading to see today; the Wild had heard there was a multitude of small waterfalls that fell as the river dropped elevation.

Her mother had always called her ugly, and at times she still feared that she was. She looked nothing like either of her parents, from what she had gathered from the fleeting glances she had gotten of her in-and-out dad, and nothing like anyone she had met yet here in these lands. Looking different was bad, was horrible. In the winter time she had been able to blend in with all of the snow and ice, something that was very useful, but now her coat color just made her feel useless and ugly.

If there was one thing that she really liked about Haven, though, it was that he never made her feel anything but happy. Every time they were together they had such a good time. Even if they were just sitting there talking. There were other things that they would do too, like jumping on beds and exploring giant abandoned ships, and everything was wonderful when she was with him. He never made her feel ugly or unwanted, and really listened to what she had to say.

"Siobhan is my name. You are...Anu?" He had spoken so much about her--and very highly about her, too. She knew that this one had to be Anu because he had described Naniko as being white, like she was. "But you, Siobhan has not heard of"She said to the other wolf. Was he a scout of some sort, perhaps?

The conversation between she and Haven had been a troublesome, including the breakup and questions of intimacy. The only thing that they had been able to talk positively and comfortably was of the little young female that stood before she and Moose. Blue eyed darted to the male, who stood as a sentinel beside her. He was watching Siobhan with a calm and relaxed curiosity.

Anu smiled at the sound of her voice, imagining the conversation between the to youths. Yes. I am. Knowing of her son’s feelings for the Inferni girl she fought the urge to question her franticly, Anu decided to get to know her slowly. When she spoke to Moose, Anu moved to introduce her packmate. This is Moose, a Sergeant here. She paused and looked to the grey hued wolf that stood next to her.
