(Hubcap!! Set in Halifax~)

The warm, lumpy ball also known as Charger stirred on the young girl's chest. Her eyes flitted open slowly and she blinked at the dim light that filtered through the dirty garage windows. One leg had slumped off the side of the couch in the middle of the night, and she stretched and rested it back on the cushion. Now she'd woken up the raccoon, who yawned groggily, rose, and padded off to the corner of the couch where he curled up once more. Once he was out of the way, Maserati stood up and stretched again. Finding her way over to her tool bench, she picked up a small jug of water and took a swig.
Sleepily she wondered what ought to be on the agenda for the day. It had been almost a week since she'd found the Autozone that was within a two hour walk from her house. Already she had replaced much of the old tubes and hosing in the car, the battery, the spark plugs, and the transmission fluid. Careful inspection of the dipstick told her the engine oil likely should be replaced, but she decided to wait until she could warm it up for a bit. Maybe today she would take it easy and focus on aesthetics. The general theme of her garage to this point had been 'organised and functional,' but maybe today she could brighten it up a bit or make it less cluttered.
She would need supplies. This would be a good day to test the small ATV trailer she'd found. It was light enough that she could wheel it around empty when she was shifted. Once it had some weight, she found it best to down-shift to her her halfling form; as such, she'd attached a custom harness to make pulling it easier. With the trailer in tow, the dark girl set out to raid the local buildings for supplies. It didn't take her long to find some glass pane cleaner, a broom, some colourful rugs, and best of all, a cabinet. The cabinet would look much better than the rusty old shelves on the wall now!
Still, once she'd found this treasure and stuffed most of the other stuff she'd found along the way inside, it was time to go back home and unload. Once she was on four legs she slid into the harness and began to pull the loaded cart down the streets. It might seem odd if anyone passed her by, but it was clear she was on a mission. Even as her body heated from the work and her tongue lolled out in a pant, she pressed on, head down, shoulders forward, and eyes intently alert.
