DaVinci had been patrolling the lands again, taking the evening shift of marking the territory since Jefferson had taken the morning one. A light spring rain had started up but the male didn't mind. He needed to get out and do something other than tending to the livestock and repairing the fences and barn area. The trampse along the border was just the thing to satisfy his boring everyday routine. Stretching his long limbs the male caught the scent of a fresh kill and turned off his normal path to see just who had been hunting on their lands.

The Savant moved quietly through the field towards the woods where the scent of blood and fear had come from. His paws tread quietly through the undergrowth until he came upon the fallen form of a young fawn. The scent of another predator filled his senses as he examined the pawprints that were left behind. The scent of a feline was strong and he felt the hairs along his neck begin to bristle. Suddenly he got the idea that it would be a very smart thing to leave the kill to whoever had claim to it.

OOC:Hope you don't mind Ares stumbling along Smile

Ares was taking a stroll along the lands, his new found pack lands. It was a nice feeling, the feeling of belonging. He had felt it for a bit in his previous pack, but the feeling was quickly and effectively shattered by the tragedy. He missed the feeling. The light spring mist was also nice, bringing the day to a great mood. It seemed like nothing could really bring down the new wolf. He was as happy as could be. He still hadn't met everyone in the pack, but he enjoyed his welcoming so far. He had no reason to fear for the future, so for that Ares was grateful.

His white paws slowed down his already slow pace. He dropped his blue eyes from the sky and focused on the scent ahead of him. Apparently something was dead, but there was another scent mixed in. It seemed to be a wolf. The thought excited Ares, although his mouth started to water. He figured he could probably meet whoever was eating and maybe even get some scraps himself. A win win situation all around. So Ares picked up the pace and didn't take long to stumble upon the young fawn and the unknown wolf.

"Hello there! My name is Ares, and I'm new to this great pack," Ares said with a bow of his head as a sign of respect.

DaVinci hadn't noticed the scent of the other approaching but it was too late when he heard the booming voice of another. Whipping his head around there was fear in the male's eyes as he snarled. "Shut up!" but it seemed that his words were to late for the growl of the feline who had laid claim to the kill before him came into sight. DaVinci backed up a few steps, almost running into this new packmate, that was what he had said right. The form of the feline that approached wasn't a mountain lion like he'd suspected but one of it's smaller yet just as deadly cousins.

The lynx seemed a little crazy to DaVinci, for he had rarely seen one of the felines stand against a wolf or even a coyote. He'd never even heard of one doing such but the female before them was snarling and advancing towards the two packmates. DaVinci growled at the beast hoping to scare her but she just stood there and growled back, flicking his ears back DaVinci felt the fur along his neck stand up as he hissed to the other male. "Got any plans..."

The scent of the lynx reached him to late. He already heard the other male snarl the warning but that had been to late to. He had already made the mistake of saying a very loud hello and attracting the attention of a rather crazed feline. It was just a very weird situation over all. Ares had stumbled upon these cats before but none of them had every really stood up to him. He didn't know how these things fought and never really cared to find out, until now. It seemed as though the cat was not backing down from this one. Something Ares couldn't understand. Not only was there one wolf, but two! There had to have been something mixed into that fawn.

"Nope, my schedule's been wiped clean," Ares responded, taking a defensive stance, raising his lips, and letting out a menacing growl. As the female took a step forward, so did Ares. It seemed like the other wolf wasn't going to run either, although he wasn't to sure. He hated making bad impression, and he was pretty sure this was a bad impression.

DaVinci didn't even know what in the world was going on and he wasn't even for certain who the packmember was that had ran in on the worst moment in the world. Now they were both stuck together and facing off with one pissed large predator. DaVinci chuckled sourly as he shot back to the male. "Well it looks like we've got plans now.." He snarled at the feline and joined the other male in stepping forward, hoping that the cat would realize that with two it's chances were growing slim.

The feline let out a caterwaul and darted forward, striking out at DaVinci as he tried to dodge away, the cat's deadly claws catching him across the shoulder as he let out a growl. Quick as a flash his fangs snapped out towards the cat, catching the cat by the scruff but only for a second before the beast dug her claws in once more. Letting go quickly DaVinci backed away as the lynx went after the other male. "Watch out!" he called as the cat lashed out with both front paws, deadly razors attempting to catch the other wolf in her grasps.
