Slowly he approached her, as he always did. He moved around her with such caution that it wasn’t hard for her to notice. Mati wasn’t sure if he didn’t want to accidentally touch her, or just get too close. She wouldn’t have minded either, but it always seemed like he did. Her mind was drawn else where as he spoke, his words always thought provoking. Looking at the book as he spoke Mati was sure he knew much about the subject. He knew about everything it seemed. It was interesting subject for the girl, but she would end up using the book as an artistic reference more then anything.

She walked as he spoke, looking away and eyeing the instruments that sat on the lab bench. It wasn’t easy for her to picture wolves living in the city, the way he described. It was so unnatural to the girl that she couldn’t even picture doing it. Yes, Onus was one to lived in the city buildings and she herself lived in a house. But where did they hunt? How did they feed themselves? It was impossible to do so without vast territory. Turning back at the coyote with a wondering look on her face she asked, You ever miss those cities?. What kept him here? She wondered.

hey! it's my job to kick people in the shin, not your's! XD

He watched her move again along the rows of tables and stools. It seemed to him in this place she almost moved like a ghost. Not that she was particularly at unease, but something was different. Perhaps it was simply that this was not her element. Nature was where she was comfortable. Did he move in such a way when he was away from the man made structures? Perhaps, though not exactly. The young girl moved with more grace than he ever would. Grace was not a part of his being. He was rough and hard where she was smooth and soft. Though he now understood being soft, more so than he ever had before.

There was really no question as to whether or not he missed the hustle and bustle of inhabited cities. "Yes. At times." It actually wasn't long ago that he had thought of leaving this place for a city again. He had thought that there wasn't much for him to do here and that he would better serve his purpose elsewhere. Much had changed since that time though. He had encountered Corvus. A creature the likes of which he had never come across before. The man was pure darkness and he would not rest until his life was stomped out or he died trying. Then there was also Cwmfen. What had happened between the two of them was almost more surprising and unexpected than finding the dark male.

For the pack raised wolfess moving around made little sense to her. Home was a permanent thing, with the security of family and comfort of the familiar. The girl liked adventure, to a point, and liked to meet new faces, but actually picking up and moving was something that felt odd just thinking about it. Starting so fresh didn’t give her a renewed feeling, but brought her anxiety. He had been here some time now, she found it interesting that he hadn’t settled yet. Though, it was Onus she was thinking about. He was far more dissimilar then anyone, and so different from her that Mati could count those differences by the miles.

Just thinking about moving away from her family made Mati want to return to them. The lab was dark and cold, not holding the warmth and security that the Manor did. Violet eyes looked to him, and she spoke with no restraint on her feelings. It’s easy for me to miss my home, and I’m not even that far away. Mati wanted to smile, hoping to find humor in her own words before he found it himself.

Was thinking we could close this up

Perhaps he did not feel the need for a permanent home because he had never experienced such a thing. Not even in his youth. After his mother had attacked him he had stayed with the man who had saved him, but as soon as he was healed and able to survive on his own he had left there. Then he had taken residence in the city, but even then he had moved around a lot. People sought him out, wanting to do him harm, wanting him to leave. At first that had been why he had started using the human scent to mask his natural one. When he went out he would put it on and when he went home he washed it off to avoid being followed in that way. For him, moving around had always been safest. Staying in one particular place too long made him wary. Though he had been residing in more or less the same apartment in the city. Few enough people came around that he didn't much worry about it.

"Your life has been very different from mine." She had a family that loved her, a place that she was safe and felt happy. Onus had never known such a thing. Now he understood love more fully, though not in the familial sense. He doubted he would ever gain that understanding. At least some children were able to grow up right and be well adjusted. It was getting later and he didn't like the notion of her staying out here much longer or trying to get home by herself. There were dangerous creatures out there, many of them waiting for such an opportunity as a young girl alone. "Want to go home? I will take you." It wasn't an offer he often extended, but he didn't want to risk her safety.

agreed :]

shirt :/

Of course they lived very different lives. It was as if they were complete opposites from each other. Mati wondered sometimes why he even liked her, if he truly did. The girl had a feeling that he found her company delightful, or at least slightly pleasant. Though naturally timid, in his secure presence Mati found ever second though one of confidence. We definitely do. Her words were slightly humorous, restating the obvious just seemed foolish. Nodding her head at his question she slowly moved to the door way. She didn’t look back as he escorted her out to the trail that would lead her home.
