Savina's den on the main floor of the mansion

The air of the room was filled with little squeaks and the pups crawled all over each other. Savina had been asleep, but their little protests of hunger made her emerald eyes flutter open. The mother yawned wide, her pearly teeth gleaming in the spring light that came through the window. She was glad that she had picked a room with a good window. She was sure the sunlight felt as good to her children as it did to her. "L'approvazione, l'approvazione, calma i miei bambini." She knew that they still couldn't really hear her yet, but it would only be a day or two until they opened their eyes and ears to the world.

Rolling onto her side she used her nose to nudge her pups up to her belly so they could eat. Once they were all suckling happily a broad smile lit her sable face. She couldn't believe that it had been almost two weeks since they had been born. It still felt like it had just happened. Kansas was out of the den for the moment, but she knew it wouldn't be too long before he was back. He wanted to spend as much time with their children as he could. But with them being so dependent on her, he was the one that had to go out and hunt along with other things. The Lt. General wondered if there was anyone about in the mansion to come keep her company while she waited for her mate to return. She didn't mind being alone, but a bit of company would be nice.

Mahlouk had been looking for Jasper. He hadn't known where to go among the strong tangle of scents. Entering the mansion he felt uneasy and really didn't want to be here, but he had to talk to Jasper. His emotionless face was looking around, Boo his large brown teddy bear was sitting on his back, like a rider on a pony. There were a lot of scents in the air tangling together and making it hard to find the one he was really looking for. Ever since that one night of debauchery he had come seeking out the sable male known as Jasper. Of course he hadn't thought to find a lover in him.

Mahlouk almost blushed at the thoughts, but chased them away when he heard sound. Large ears perked forwards and he found himself walking towards the sound. His pupiless azure eyes looked forwards as he walked in on the last thing he had intended to walk in on. A black female with her newborns was there, the pups squeaking all around her. The hair on his spine rose and his scars tingled as if the air had turned really cold. Something in him said that she wouldn't be very happy with him a stranger from another pack so near her just born pups. Though Mahlouk wasn't lacking in his own protection, he didn't want to offend either.

Long legs took steps back and he ran into something making it crash with a loud noise Boo falling from his back with the sudden crash of items. All he had wanted was to find Jasper, and here he was probably going to get his ass chewed for walking in on a mother and her young. The last thing he wanted was not to be able to come onto Crimson Dream lands. "I-I'm sorry...." He said in first person, some part of him breaking out of talking in third. Mahlouk's emotionless face never showed the war of feelings that were going through him.

As her pups suckled at her belly she heard someone enter the mansion. She didn't think much about it at first. Most of the pack lived in the large house and many came and went as they pleased. But when the scent of the canine who had entered reached her nose her blood ran cold. It was someone she had never smelled before and they didn't smell of Crimson Dreams. Whoever it was smelled somewhat similar to her sister-in-law, but still, no one should be this far into the territory unescorted unless they were family. Her hackles began to rise and her jaw clamped together. Amata, Gotham, and Cambria must have sensed the change in their mother's mood and instinctively huddled closer to her.

Soon a very large and scarred male was standing in the doorway of her den. Savina's ears flicked back and she curled her tail and legs closer to her children. Her lips were about to raise in a snarl when the stranger backed up and knocked something over back in the hallway. Hopefully the racket would bring someone to her aid. Emerald eyes were intense and dangerous as she stared at the male, her heart pounded in her ears.

Then he looked at her and offered an apology. While this did a little to calm her fears, it wasn't enough for her to let down her guard. Maybe he was trying to lead her into a false sense of security. If he was it wasn't going to work. If he dared come any closer without her express permission he would be sorry. "What are you doing here." It was a demand, not a question. Her tone was dangerous, warning the hybrid not to make any bad moves.

Mahlouk felt the his nervous start to work. The sound of the pups and the mothers warning made him stumble back even more, knocking more items onto his back. Shying away he stood still on long scarred legs, his blank face didn't show anything of what he was feeling, and neither did his strong stance. He took on a defensive position, the hair on his spine rose and his head lowered. He was taking precautions if the female didn't want to hear what he had to say. Something in him felt he wouldn't even hurt the women if she came at him. He had endured pain before, his body was an example of it, so if the female beat him up it was his own fault for walking into a place he shouldn't have to start with.

Her demand was sharp and growled only making his hair rise further and he let his body cover Boo, protecting his Teddy bear from the mother wolf. "I-M-Mahlouk-I mean----Jazper…….. I just wanted to find Jazper." He said in his deep rumbling voice eyes flicking and wishing the male would just show up. He didn't need protecting, but something in him wanted his lover to show himself. The last thing he wanted was to scare the shit out of a mother she wolf in the pack and not be able to come see Jazper. "You won't hurt Boo." His own demand was strong as his lean body protected the bear like it was his own pup. In a strange way it was all Mahlouk had. Many emotions rose in the male, but his face stayed static.

The canine's blank face and raised fur made her lips reveal the tips of her startling white teeth. If he wanted a fight he was going to get more than he bargained for. This male had no idea of the hidden rage and power that resided within her and if she needed that monster to protect her children then she wouldn't hesitate to do so. Not only that, but he was deep inside Crimson Dreams territory, in the heart of it. It wouldn't take long until someone heard what was going on and would come to help her. Honestly she was a little surprised that no one had come yet. Such noise near the den of the pack's newest litter never meant anything good.

Her dark ears flicked forward again at the mention of her packmate. Usually the assurance that the stranger knew one of her pack would have been enough to calm her, but her adrenaline was up and all she could think of was protecting her babies. "What business do you have with Jazper?" Her accented voice wasn't as harsh, but it wasn't much better. This male was confusing. His voice and words seemed nervous, but his body language didn't display that at all. This kept the mother on edge, hackles still risen and eyes still gleaming.

Savina hadn't even noticed the stuffed bear that had until recently been on the scarred male's back. So at his roughly spoken demand, it was only all the more confusing. "What?" Was he delusional? Trying to act the victim when it was he who had stumbled in uninvited on her and her newborns. Where was everyone? She wanted someone else to deal with this man and get him safely away from her children.

The Rhiannon boy had felt better then ever over the past few days. Since the birth of Savina's pups he had reversed into his old simple nature. Live and protect. The days had pasted since his last encounter with Mahlouk and just as he had suspected life had returned to normal. His dreams were calm and dreamless and his mind didn't hover on him for too much time. Annoyingly it still buzzed in the white hybrid's direction when he wasn't busy but it wasn't as bad as it had been before their second meeting. His dark body blended with the different colored furs that sprawled against his bed. The humans deffinently had it right when the chose too sleep on beds. A loud yawn escaped the male as he placed his book down and stood, stretching out a now stiff body. The sounds echoed up into his room. Crashes from Savina's room sent him wide eyes running down the stairs.

A growl grew in his throat as he saw Savina's figure threw the door, protective and angry. His own face grew into a snarl and his large form was thrown into the room with a loud bark announcing his entry. His muscles were thrown into an adrenaline state as his glaring golden orbs turned to the wall that his Alpha was snarling at. In an instant his face when to confusion to fear. Why was Mahlouk in the manor with Savina and her pups? His mind started to race searching for a reason besides himself for the white male to be here. Finally, his features became calm and slowly walking up to Savina he released a sigh, “It's okay Savina..he's mine.” Turning to the emotionless male he shook his head, “Mahlouk this is Savina, one of my packs Alphas.”

He and the she wolf were both tense. The female afraid he was dangerous, and he was afraid she would rip him apart, or rather rip Boo apart. Stand still in a defensive posistion his face still had that static look, which made him appear more dangerous, not that Mahlouk wanted that. The womens question was something he didn't want to answer. Embarrsement seized him and his large ears laid back on his head. "None of your buisness." He grumbled heat forming at his cheeks and across the bridge of his nose. Mahlouk had no intention of saying something that Jazper might not want people to know.

He could see she was confused about Boo, but almost everyone was. To them Boo was just an object. White fur continued to stand and he didn't know what to do. Moving would probably Scare her and he didn't want to talk about Jazper. Regret swelled in his breast, he shouldn't have come here. The sudden loud noise of an entering male made his fur rise farther and his head dip lower, ready to defend his life even if it seemed he was the bad guy. The sight and smell of the sable man he had been looking for made his whole body relax instantlly. A smile creased Mahlouk's Handsome features, the smile was light and almost none existant, and then it was gone. Backing up a few steps he picked up Boo in his maw and went to Jazper skirting the female until Mahlouk could feel the heat of his lover.

Jazper's words had made a thrill of excitment go through the scarred male. 'Mine' He had said when entering the room. Sitting before Jazper he dropped Boo at his paws and tried not to look at the female. His strange blue eyes were down casted as he spoke to the black male. "your mad at Mahlouk for being here........" He said it low so it wasn't to obvious what he had said to Jazper. His face had continued being static except for the vauge smile that had dashed his features for a few seconds. The he wolf couldn't think of any excuses for being in their mansion, he had really stepped into a pile of shit here.

When the male's ears dipped back at the question she thought that perhaps finally he was going to submit and slink away (at least that's what she hoped), but at his answer her lips curled over her teeth even more. "I am Lt. General here and you've barged in on my den, so I think it is my business." Her ivory fangs shone brightly against her dark lips and fur. She didn't know what this male thought he was doing or what right he had to be here, but the longer this went on the more angry and protective she became. He should have bolted the second he saw her with her pups. Sticking around had obviously been a bad move for him.

When she heard someone rushing down the stairs relief washed over her. Someone is coming. When the large dark form of Jazper appeared ready to defend her, her heart warmed. She was glad to see that her dear friend was acting more like his usual self again. What had happened to him had been awful and he had every right to be mad at the world. But having the old Jazz back was a huge comfort. When the protector's face went from angry to calm, she did her best to mirror that reaction. It wasn't as quick a change back though and her heart still beat rapidly in her chest.

"Your's?" she questioned curiously. What exactly did he mean by that she wondered. Emerald gaze looked back to the hybrid, his strange eyes cast down to the floor. She turned from the two men for a moment, nuzzling the backs of her children to let them know that it was alright. Savina heaved a sigh, trying to calm herself. "I think you need to tell your friend that he needs to be more careful when he comes here." She met eyes with Jazper, letting him know she wasn't mad at him. She didn't mind others coming to visit him or any other packmate, but she couldn't have strangers just waltzing about on their own in the mansion. Not with the pups.

Jazper's attention returned and stayed on Savina. Though he wanted to comfort Mahlouk he knew his place, his rank and his duty. If it had of been any other intruder he would have ripped them to shreds before the could get withing 5 feet of the newborns. His body felt tense as he replayed the scene in his head. How could Mahlouk have thought it was okay to just waltz in on a she-wolf and her pups. He must have been able to smell her. The territory was clearly marked and though he wanted him to visit there where rules. A blush ran hidden behind his black fur as Savina questioned his choice of words. Looking down and away slightly he felt like he was caught by a parent and was being scolded for his peccadillo. “He's a friend of mine" He explained, leaving out the details that both times they had been together they had been lovers. He nodded to Savina's second comment. She was calm now at the least, under control. He sighed once more as he lowered himself to Mahlouk's level.

How could he explain the the male the rules of the pack, that if he wanted to see him he'd have to be patient, that his pack was his fist priority with the young pups not yet able to protect themselves and a mother that wouldn't be able to think clearly when on the defense. Garnet had been allowed to visit after meeting Naniko but she still had to spend her time with Jazper for some time afterwards until she could fully be trusted alone in pack territories. Resting a large midnight colored hand on Mahlouk's shoulder he shook his head, “I'm not mad at you Mahlouk.” He couldn't be mad at such an innocent and naive being. “This is Crimson Dream's land. You just need to be more careful, ask directly for me, look for someone closer to the borders. I scout the boarders every morning and every night so I'm generally around. Savina just had pups so the pack is going to be a little on edge for some time, myself especially. The alpha's have been nothing but the most supportive of me since I was a pup.” Lifting the other males head he looked at him reassuringly, “Just be more careful and answer questions quickly.” His eyes drifted up to Savina in apology.

Mahlouk could feel the warmth of the sable male. His heart lifted as he wanted to move closer. So maybe he had been lonely for the past couple of days. Usually Boo was enough to keep him company, but he couldn't seem to stop wishing Boo would talk back. Not that he didn't love his Teddy bear. Mahlouk made sure to keep his eyes down between the two of them. He couldn't even seem to look at Jazper, afraid the male might actually be mad at him for entering a place he knew now he shouldn't have come in. He still wanted to talk to Jazper, but being around the female made him nervous and want to hide.

It wasn't that she was all that intimidating, but Mahlouk didn't know what to do in confrontation. The warm hand of Jazper followed with his words made the hybrids tail move slightly, but he stilled it quickly. Jazper's hand was making him want to push closer, but he stilled his body and made sure to keep the static face that usually came naturally. Shame and guilt filled him as his ears lay flat on his head. "I......." His blue eyes looked at the female before he changed his speaking tense. "Mahlouk was afraid to ask." Actually he was afraid they would laugh at him and tell him to turn around and go home. Embarressment flouded him and his cheeks heated.

Jazper lifting his face up and looking him in the eyes did not ease any of the worries. Though he leaned his head into the hand unconsiously. He didn't understand why the male made him react in so many ways, but he loved the way it made him feel. He knew it was probably better if he respected Jazpers rank in his pack. Nervous, Embarrassed and feeling a little out of place Mahlouk let his blue eyes drift to the female called Savina. "Mahlouk is very Sorry and promises to not let it happen again." He let his eyes fall in respect.

Savina had no problems with males being with males and females being with females. After all, their Commander had taken a female for a mate for a while. As long as love was true who cared whom it was between? She hadn't known that Jazper had tendencies of that type and was surprised to hear him call anybody "his" so soon after loosing his mate and daughter. Who knew, perhaps that was what he needed to pull himself out of the depression. Everyone was different. She knew that it would be much longer before she could even think of having feelings for someone else if something were to happen to Kansas, though. The Lt. General only nodded, seeing there was at least some level of embarrassment there and not wanting to make it worse.

The mother averted her gave to let the two males talk one on one, trying to occupy herself with grooming her pups. Though in such close proximity it was impossible not to hear the words being said. Still, it was a matter of manners not to stare like some simpleton, even if it wasn't as private as it perhaps should have been. She was impressed by how well and gently Jazper explained things to his friend. It was the exact kind of tone that this situation called for. The gold-eyed Knight had always been one of their most trusted and cherished members. He proved that again and again on a daily basis. She couldn't imagine what they would do without him.

She looked back to her friend and gave him a nod and soft smile. It wasn't his fault and he had handled the situation better than most. It also pleased her that Mahlouk offered an apology. She trusted that he truly had no ill intentions in coming to the mansion. He just needed to know how to follow the rules and decorum. "Your apology is accepted and I thank you for it Mahlouk. Just listen to Jazper, he has given you very good advice." Her voice had returned to its normal soft and kind tone. It had all just been a misunderstanding. As long as it didn't repeat itself things would be fine.
