Mahlouk lay at the border with Boo at his paws. Of course many would wonder why a grown male would be carrying around a teddy bear, but he was. Keeping his face static he lay down for a few moments not wanting to really draw attention to himself. His scarred body could sometimes do that for him, and Mahlouk really didn't like that. Blending into the background was good for him, he loved to tell stories and hunt. All these things though took courage to talk to people, and though he wasn't a coward to death, he was to embarrassment.

He stayed in his wolf form, or rather hybrid because he was only half wolf while his father had been a white German Sheppard and his mother the white wolf. He to would be pure white if it wasn't for the blood stains on his coat that had refused to come out after time. Sighing he got to his paws. He wanted to seek Jazper out, but the probably was he didn't want to bother the male, so he stayed put in hopes that he would get somewhere soon.

welcome to Crimson Dreams :]

There was so much to be done, cleaning, gardening, patrolling. Anu felt in charge of all of it, though she obviously wasn’t. Since Savina’s pup had been born Anu had tried to take on more of the tasks that the leaders shared. Though she knew that she had missed a few things here and there, she still felt the weight of more responsibility.

Four paws took her through the manor door, down the porch and through the wooden gate. She knew there were things to do, but could decide what to do first. The garden called her name, but she kept her nose pointed away from its direction. Such things could wait, the security of the boarders would not.

Nose down Anu ventured away from the home and followed a wind ridden scent. Something different and male ventured to her snout and made her tail curl over her back in concern. Blue eyes saw the white figure, coat crossed with the dark hue of scars. Nothing in his scent or posture proclaimed danger, but the small fey was weary. Stopping with good distance between them Anu spoke, Can I help you?

Mahlouk smelt the female before he saw her. His pupilless azure eyes watched with an emotionless face. Boo still sat at his feet, and he found himself finally knowing what he had to do. Mahlouk saw the weariness in her, the way she stayed a good distance from him. He was sure the weariness in her would stop the moment she smelt sex and Jazper on him, that always seemed to have that affect on the women of Crimson Dream. With a sigh he picked Boo up by the scruff and got closer to her until he was sitting right in front of her, tall and lacking in any outer emotions. It was this ablitlity to hide his feelings, and his large body that was intimidating, the scars were just a bonus.

Dropping the bear at his paws he spoke."Mahlouk is here to live." His deep voice was strong as he watched her. Soon after his eyes dropped down. He would wait for her response, what it was he wasn't to sure. After this he would seek Jazper out, weather the male was busy or not. If he had to wait he would. Looking at Boo he wondered if she would ask about his companion as well.

He walked towards her with no reserve. Killing the distance that she had left with such purpose. It was too forward, and Anu let the feeling show in her stance. The line of fur that trailed along her spine rose, a mindless hope to make her look larger. Everything stood at attention, tail and ears. Blue eyes fought to find the life in the pupilless orbs that rested in his head, and she could only ignore the animal that he carried. There was something familiar on him, and Anu recognized her packmate’s scent that lingered on his pelt. But even the pairing of the familiar cologne and the innocent bear did not ease her hesitation.

Live here? She questioned him, her voice hard emotionless. Why should I let you live here? He would have to do the normal song and dance if he wanted to join their pack, he would have to possess qualities that made him a worthy member. He would need more then jut a lingering scent to gain entry.

Mahlouk didn't know what to do. She acted so hostile to him he was at a loss. Moving so Boo was under him where protection was he looked up at the female again. Even with the war of thoughts and emotions running through him he didn't let even one thing pass the iron mask. It was a defenive thing, when they had scarred and burned him in his old tribe the lack of emotion had kept them from getting angered by his cries for his mother. Shifting he watched as her stance became as hostile as her terse words. Anger formed in his gut, what had he done?

He sat just watching the women. Mahlouk was far from worried that she could hurt him. If anything he was strong enough to protect himself, he had learned that by mistake. Her words had nicked a nerve and his maw twitch with the urge to frown. "Mahlouk was sure that wanting to was enough." He knew she meant his talent, but if she was going to be terse with him he wouldn't give her a direct answer. It was obvious what he was if she took the time to look at the scars that were enscribed into his body.

Anu watched the dog-formed hybrid, moving passed her caution and truly taking him in. Though he was larger then she, covered in scar and boding no submission there was a part of him that she may have missed. His carvings were not like those she saw on a beast pleading for a fight, not on one that had lived a life of murder and mayhem. It was like they had been placed on him so very carefully, like an artist against a canvas. Though he was a piece of art that bled.

Even though he showed nothing, Anu tried to keep from being annoyed. It was always easier when there was something to read, a face that gave just a little bit. A hint. But there was nothing. His face was as empty as the solid eyes he wore. Anu wasn’t sure if she should run him off, just to be safe, or if there was reason to keep questioning him. She hid her defenses, letting them fall from her body but kept them in mind as she spoke again. I’m sorry, but it not enough. Anu paused, thinking of the three pups that Savina and Kansas no doubt look down upon this very moment.

I’m Anu, Brigadier General. We have many reasons to be weary of strangers here Mahlouk. Refusing to give away that there were defenseless pups under their care Anu tried to explain the best she could. If you want to live here, I need to know that you can contribute. She left him with that, eager to know if he understood what she was looking for.

Mahlouk finally saw who the women was under her irritation and weariness. Nodding his head in respect he dropped his gaze from her showing his respect for the female finally. Her words made his large ears flick as he listened. It wasn't her standing that made him stand down from being some what stuborn, but her change to ask him what she wanted to know. "Mahlouk is able to say he is no stranger here. Savina, Naniko, and Jazper are of his aquaintance." His deep voice rumbled and his eyes stayed respectfully on the ground. In his pack he had been told from birth that he was the lowest and would stay that way. The cast in his tribe had been cruel and you couldn't live it out, he was nothing but a walking reminder to the tribe of what they had to do to get where they were. The scars.

"Mahlouk can't do much. He can tell stories, and he can remember things." He remembered more sometimes then he would like. Expecially his meetings with Jazper. A shiver went through his body and mentally he crammed those thoughts away. "Mahlouk knows how to take pain, that is what he is best at." He said it bluntly because it was the truth. It had been something he had learned how to do quickly or the scars alone would have killed him.

She refused to wonder what the bear meant. Though the question ran through her head one right after another, Anu would only give it a quick glance as he acted as if it was something to cherish. Maybe it was? But she wanted to focus on what he had to offer, and if he was some one that she could trust. Their defenses were up, as they should be with the newborns, and Anu wouldn’t make the mistake of letting anything dangerous through.

Was he? Anu let her surprise wash over her face. If he was talented at hiding how he felt, Anu was the complete opposite. It was a chore to keep what she thought from running along each line of her face. If he knew so many, Anu found it a lucky chance that none of them were the ones to meet and welcome him. It would have been easier for the male, but instead he was left with her. But he was honest, and Anu could respect that. Honesty was something she held close to her heart, and as his words passed through her ears Anu could finally relax.

Wanting to join may not be enough, but knowing both my superiors might just be. Anu spoke as she gave him her first smile. Warming to him was more natural for the female then keeping her guard on alert. It came easily as she added, A story teller would be helpful, with Savina’s puppies. Unsure how much pain he would have to endure Anu focused on his other talent. Anu had done her best with bedtime stories for Nani’s brood, but a true teller would be far more entertaining.

You’re sure your ready to follow the rules, we don’t want trouble makers.. it was a warning she always gave, just in case. Liability was something she did not want if a new member got out of line, though she couldn’t see him making trouble. But she had been wrong before.

Mahlouk kept his eyes down casted. The female had changed, became more pleasent, and he was glad he could see who she really was. Her smile made him want to give her one in return, but dropping the mast wasn't something he could do willingly. "Mahlouk is glad to know this. Living here means being near someone he is fond of." He said still in that deep voice the affection obvious in it when it wasn't there in his face. Moving so boo wasn't underneath him anymore he sat before the women the bear at his paws.

He nodded to her in reation to hearing about the puppies. Only a few days ago he had walked into the mansion when he shouldn't have and ran across Savina and the pups. Of course the female had been forgiving when Jazper came in and told him to seek him else were next time. "Stories are always good." He said gently even when his voice had no way of being gentle. His ears flicked back when she asked him about rules and troubling making. If there was anything he was incapable of doing it was making to much trouble. "Mahlouk is never a liability. He is always a help to pack he is with, what ever they wish him to be he tries his hardest to do so." His scars were proof to those words

figured short thread would be OK, um...

yayyy welcome!!

Her body reflected her changed attitude. Tail fell slightly, and relaxed with the rest of her. Of course there was a sense of joy as she greet and worked through the acceptance process. She was glad and proud that a wolf found their territory suitable and enjoyable enough that they wanted to stay and be part of what their pack had to offer, but there was reason to be careful. The white scared male was suitable, and wanted it. His eagerness to live here helped his cause, and Anu liked his honest words.

Ok Mahlouk, I’ll keep you to your word. Anu spoke with much more warmth in her voice then she previously held. She wondered who he was hoping to live near, and the names ran through her mind quickly. You’ll hold the rank of Basic Officer, and I hope you enjoy living here. She hoped that being close to whomever he sought was everything that he wanted it to be.
