for haven set in halifax

Notre Dame emerged from a heavily forested area to find his feet hitting something slightly more solid. Upon glancing downward, he found an unknown grayish substance, unlike anything he'd ever seen before, at least that he could remember. He and Ana Cate had spent almost all of their time in the most rural places of North America, where she felt they were safer from the dogs who hunted them. Very rarely had they ventured into cities, and when they had it had been Ana alone, having hidden Notre Dame somewhere safe before hurrying into the city for supplies. Now, he acknowledged that he had in fact entered one of these forbidden places, but without his mother he felt no need to turn back.

Notre progressed further into the city, noting the crumbling buildings that the hairless monkeys had once inhabited, if he could remember his mother's words correctly. Scooting along and keeping to the shadows, the wolfdog kept his icy eyes peeled for any sign of life. Upon entering these lands, a wave of scents had hit him--mostly of wolves. Whether that was comforting or not, he wasn't quite sure. For now, he continued his march, unsure of where it led him.

short, sorry :x

As usual, Haven was tipsy if not drunk. Though he had decided to venture out from the dank bar today, quite adventurous for him in his current mental state. His long ivory mane hung limply around his shoulders as he stumbled through the dirty city streets. In one hand he had a bottle of rum. The spiced liquor was becoming his favorite. It tasted a little better than some of the others. Though anything that kept him inebriated was fine with him. He had left his jacket at the bar, but he still wore his tattered jean shorts.

Jade eyes were cloudy and half lidded. That was probably why he didn't catch site of the rather large piece of rubble that was in his direct path. His foot tripped over it and he went stumbling to the ground. As he fell the bottle fell from his hands and landed with a loud shattering noise. The hybrid sat there on his hands and knees, frowning. There had been at least half the bottle left in there. "Dammit," he grumbled under his breath. He moved to sit on his rump and dusted off his hands. He didn't much feel like standing back up just yet.
