The male had finally taken the time to get out of the packlands and explore some. There was one place he'd never really explored as a child and lately it had almost become an obsession to learn about the different treasures that one could find there. Sankor had been padding through the streets of Halifax trying to figure just what was so big about being a Luperci, though he knew he shouldn't be questioning the idea at all, he'd become so engrossed with the strange breed of wolf and had become so jealous of their abilities. He shook his head to clear the thoughts from his mind as he hopped onto a bench and tried to peer into the dusty window of a shop. There was just too much to take in and he didn't even know where to begin.

Sankor finally gave up trying to peer into the building and leap down from the bench to continue his stroll. Soon enough he came to another building, this one with the door propped open. He turned to make certain no one was about before he crept into the store. He wasn't exactly sure what he was gonna find, but he was going to find something!

Overturned shelves, cracked plaster, and paint flecks were all that was left of an era long dead. Lannen nosed his way through the mess, paying particular attention to the faded, curling edges of a picture. The white man was lucky that there wasn't any broken glass on the floor, although it appeared as though there had been some disruption in this building before it had been abandoned. The white wolf was in his lupus form today. He had been born to this form, though he rarely used it. When an attack had infected him with the shifting virus, he had risen to the challenge, mastering the form of two legs. However, being in this feral form made him feel strange, as if he was more in tune with his senses.

He breathed in the scents of dust, wrinkling his nose in distaste as the particles flew into his nostrils. He shook his head a bit, and stepped away from an overturned display, his ears flicking when he hear the sound of footsteps. The white wolf turned his brown eyes upon the form of a multi-colored male wolf. He regarded the man curiously, cocking his head to the side for a moment. After discerning a bit of his scent, Lannen ambled over a few steps, deciding to introduce himself. "Hey, man," he said.

Sankor had been so busy trying to figure out what the human world was like that he hadn't even realized that another was in the area. When he caught sight of the male moving towards him Sankor jumped as though he was guilty of something. He smiled at the other male as he realized that he'd been addressed by the fellow. Nodding to the stranger he tried to clear his throat as he spoke up finally. "Hey.." He moved away from what he'd been trying to look at as he took in the sight of the stranger. He seemed to have the scent of that strange tribe, though Sankor wasn't certain, he'd never met anyone from the tribe yet. He just assumed since he knew the scents of the other packs and the clan.

He shook his head a moment as he watched a wash of dust bunnies float into the air, ticking his nose as he suddenly sneezed. Wrinkling his nose up he shook himself out again as he chuckled. "I'm Sankor.." The poor guy looked so out of place in the middle of the human world and he knew it. He just hoped the other male wouldn't point out the obvious.

Lannen was glad to see that the other male was amiable to company. Or at least he hadn't reacted poorly to being taken by surprise. It seemed as though the brown and black male had been so intensely interested in the surrounding manmade objects that he hadn't taken notice before he approached. Lannen understood how he could get caught up in his thoughts and not pay attention to his surroundings. Lannen found the human world to be fascinating too, though he did not often actively seek it out. Today was a rare day for him, when he would venture out to explore with a purpose. He had never much cared about the times that had come before, but he felt like he could perhaps learn something new to occupy his time now.

The white man smiled back at Sankor, and nodded in reply. "Name's Lannen," he offered, casting his brown eyes back around the overturned shelving of the store. He let his gaze wander lazily back to the other wolf. He didn't feel any tension in this situation. There wasn't any negative energy to be released. For once, he was calm and collected. And most importantly, he was in control. He appreciated the relaxed atmosphere, the lazy time he could spend perusing the old human city as he wished. It might even be nice to have the company. "What brings you here?" the wolf asked.

Sankor flashed a nervous guilty smile once more as the male introduced himself. Sankor noticed the male's wandering eyes as he shifted his eyes away down to his feet as he greeted the other his his own name. "I'm Sankor.." He didn't really stop to think about the fact that the male before him didn't know that he couldn't shift and therefore couldn't come up with a comment about how it was awfully strange for him to be hanging around a place with stuff that was rather useless for him. He stared off at a few shelves filled with trinkets for a moment before the others voice hit him.

"What?" he asked as he whipped his head back around and stared at the male a second before the question actually registered. "Oh.. I've just.. never got to really look at all the weird stuff the humans once used.." Boy did that sound pathetic to him. He'd never had any reason to look around at their junk and still now he didn't. The dark hued male really was beginning to regret having showed his face in the human city but he couldn't just walk away right now, that was beyond rude.

Lannen nodded in understanding. The guy seemed nervous, not exactly on edge, but he still seemed uncomfortable. He didn't want to add to his discomfort, but he didn't want to back off right now. If the guy was curious enough to take a look around all this old junk, he could handle making a new acquaintance. Lannen guessed rather than knew that the brown and black man had actively sought out the city instead of just stumbling upon it. In his mind, that gave them a common purpose.

"I get that," Lannen said, nodding and tilting his head as he looked at some of the piles of human junk lying around, collecting dust. He had never really stopped to ponder humans before. They were part of a different era, long dead and gone. "Humans must've been pretty nuts," Lannen concluded, his brown eyes returning to the male before him.

Sankor didn't know what he thought of this world that had been left behind, he just knew that many had begun to take to it like it was their own. He padded closer to the male when he began to speak and peered closer at one of the strange contraptions on the shelf. He just shook his head and frowned before whispering. "What do you think was wrong with them?" he didn't know why he was whispering but it just seemed right in the strange place. It seemed sort of haunted, like the humans were still there watching and waiting to take it all back.

He felt a shiver dance along his back as he glanced back behind him to make certain that they were indeed alone. He didn't like the paranoid thoughts that were filling his mind but he couldn't help them. The humans were a strange lot indeed. Sankor let and ear flick forward again as he pawed at the toaster that was out on display before he glanced back to the other. "I don't know why I bother.. I can't do anything with any of this junk.." He didn't want the other male's pity, he just figured he should let the male know he wasn't like everyone else.

"They probably didn't have their priorities straight," Lannen said, his eyes sweeping the piles of human artifacts collecting dust. Their species had turned to dust and a jumbled tangle of junk, like all the stuff they had left behind. "I mean, they were obviously capable of a lot, but they didn't focus on their survival," the white man snorted. He had no idea how humans had ceased to exist. He only knew that they had left an entire world behind, full of things foreign to his instincts. He always had to think, to try before he attempted to do anything within the human world.

His brown eyes came back to the black and brown pelted male. He seemed to feel out of place and uncomfortable. The white man frowned, then shrugged. It really wasn't any of his business, but the guy seemed like decent enough company. Maybe he could get him to stick around for a while. "Half this crap is useless anyway, Sankor," he said.

Sankor turned to look to Lannen as he spoke of the humans, Sankor nodding quietly as he knocked over a couple of plastic bottles with his nose and leaped back as they clattered to the floor. Sneezing as the dust settled the mahogany male frowned and tilted his head to the side as he asked. "Are we any better.. taking up after their ways.." If the humans had forgotten how to really survive because they had depended so much on the things they used.. why were the wolves so interested in following down their path.

When the male spoke of most of the things being useless he frowned. "Oh.. what's useful then?" He really hated the fact that he was so dim when it came to the human world but if Lannen could show him what could actually be of use in their world perhaps one day he could get up the nerve to take the next step and become one of the luperci. The thought still sent chills down his back but he hadn't been convinced yet that he wasn't interested in becoming one.
