For Alexey, to come yell at her. x3 Set in Halifax. Could this be set after her thread with Catalyst, please? Maybe the 6th instead of the 5th?

Alexey had warned Princess to remain within Dahlia de Mai’s territory, and for a little while, she had done just that. When she came to Dahlia de Mai, she’d been seven months old, and now, she was eight months old. That had to mean that she had stayed within the pack lands long enough, in her eyes, and she had grown infinitely more curious about that puppy-eating monster. Alexey had never mentioned the monster’s name, but Princess was, admittedly, hoping to find him. That way, she could prove how special she was, because the monster definitely wouldn’t try to get her. She was Princess Chance, and she was far too good to be attacked by a monster. She wasn’t just any puppy, you know!

For the reasons of curiosity, Princess new found herself wandering through strange lands, surrounded by strange. . . Tall things. Truth be told, Princess did not have a clue as to what those tall things were, but she was definitely curious about them. As she stepped closer, she held her nose out far in front of her, in hopes of smelling anyone else that may be around before they found her, but she was having no luck. If there was anyone inside or behind the tall things, Princess wasn’t able to smell them, and would be severely startled if someone were to jump out at her. “But I’m not afraid,” she reminded herself. She was absolutely not afraid of anything, especially tall things, hiding people, or monsters.

Despite her promise to her mother to not speak of Buttface, the young female couldn’t help but think about him. He probably would have been scared of the tall things, but together, they could have explored them. Despite the sun that still hung in the sky (although it was falling rapidly), Princess did not want to venture closer to the tall things. She wasn’t afraid, per se, but what if there was something hiding in them and they didn’t realize how special she was? Princess didn’t want to risk anything happening to her, now that she had been reunited with Tokyo, and she was trying so hard to please her. If Tokyo had told her to stay put, she probably would have.

The atmosphere in Dahlia de Mai was thick with grief; littered with perturbed souls mourning the death of a fellow packmate. Although she’d never taken the time to create a bond with the male, the dreadful news did not leave her unfazed. It made her regret all the times she’d ignored his presence, most particularly at pack meetings. Danger was all around; the Acer was painfully becoming aware of that. Not only did they have to protect the children from a puppy-eater, but they also had to keep an eye out for Ril’o’s murderer. It terrified her. There wasn’t a single moment when Conor wasn’t on her mind. He meant the world to her. Then there was Adelaida, who’d just up and disappeared soon after Ril’o’s death. Her sister had a fragile heart and judging from her reaction to the latest news, Alexey could only assume that she’d grown fond of the male.

Her concern brought her all the way to Halifax, in hopes of finding the masked female. Tall buildings towered overhead, casting gloomy shadows upon the city. The fading sun had taken an apricot complexion, announcing dusk’s rapidly approaching arrival. It was her cue to go home. However, a distant silhouette entered her vision before she could even think of doing that. Her muzzle pushed forward as she attempted to decipher the wolf’s identity; a female, and her scent was awfully familiar. Her eyes narrowed; it couldn’t have been Adelaida, the form was much smaller in size. An adolescent, more than likely. “Princess?” she called out, her voice fortified with a hint of vexation. Now wasn’t the time to be wandering around unclaimed territories, especially not without a guardian.

The voice behind her was familiar, and Princess stilled instantly. Uh oh, she thought, turning slowly. Maybe she was disobeying Alexey had been her plan, but she hadn’t counted on Alexey finding her outside of the pack lands. She didn’t exactly think that Alexey would appreciate her disobeying her orders, so Princess had a plan of action. She was going to be incredibly apologetic, and say that she didn’t realize she’d gone so far until she had come across these tall things. Perhaps she could use her brother as an excuse; Alexey would never be able to know of Buttface had really been in the area, and she had known the pup was looking for him. It had to make sense, didn’t it? Hanging her head, the pup stared at Alexey’s feet. Maybe she wouldn’t say anything about leaving the pack lands, and perhaps Alexey wouldn’t feel the need to say anything, either.

“Hi, Alexey. How are you?” she asked, hoping to distract the older female from their surroundings. She had wanted to explore, but she didn’t want to get in trouble for it. “Oh! And I found my mother, on account of I found Cmwfen, and she told me that my mother had a den on the shore.” Princess couldn’t help but stumble over the words a bit, as the tone Alexey had used had not sounded very happy. Princess was afraid that she would get in trouble and be locked up somewhere in the pack - or worse, kicked out of the pack for disobedience. If she were to be kicked out of the pack, she would have been absolutely heart broken. Princess had looked for so long for Tokyo, and had left her brother to do so. Surely if she were kicked out, she couldn’t go back to Buttface. . . More than likely, her brother hated her now. She supposed she would have understood if he did.

Puppies often tried to wiggle themselves out of trouble. By now, Alexey had seen every trick in the book. She, however, hadn’t expected such a behavior coming from an adolescent. The Acer had momentarily forgotten about the early stages of adulthood, and how disobeying authority was part of growing up. She could’ve reprimanded Princess for her carelessness, but she chose a different alternative instead. Her left ear twitched when the youngster’s greeting rang through the evening air, but she did not reply. Silence did not seem to faze Princess though, because the teenager jumped from one subject to another; the last pertaining to Tokyo and Cwmfen.

It made her genuinely happy to hear that they’d finally been reunited. The mother had seemed rather alarmed upon learning that her daughter was around, which had somewhat surprised the Acer. But everything seemed to be okay now, according to Princess' statement. Part of her wanted to give in and smile, just to demonstrate how happy she was for the young girl’s family. And she would’ve done so if only Princess hadn’t directly put herself in danger by wandering away from her new home. “A fellow pack mate died a few days ago.” she started, taking a deep breath. “A grown male. Someone killed him.” Her amber-colored gaze remained plastered to the girl’s face, as if trying to understand what was going through her mind at that very moment.

“I told you not to wander away from home. So what are you doing here?” she questioned, her dismay growing exponentially. Perhaps she was being slightly paranoid, but the thought of finding Princess’ lifeless body lying on the ground was quite disturbing. It was her duty to keep her safe, although she technically wasn’t a puppy anymore. She was young, yes, but no longer part of the Surculus ranks. Lexey simply couldn't help herself.

Princess hung her head, ashamed at having already forgotten about the death that Catalyst had mentioned. It wasn’t her fault, really, that she wanted to explore, and she was trying to find Buttface without really trying to find him. If she had really been trying to find him, she would have been calling his name, or asking around, and on top of that, she would have been breaking one of her mother’s most important rules. By looking for him without really looking for him, Princess didn’t feel that she was doing anything wrong. Except, of course, leaving the pack lands. That was wrong, and hindsight told her that this confrontation could have been avoided if she had only followed the rules that had been set out for her by Alexey, who was kind, and seemed to actually care about her. It made her wonder about the intelligence of leaving the pack lands if it would upset the adults of the pack, particularly Alexey, whom she did like, quite a bit.

“I’m sorry, Alexey. I knew ‘bout the guy that died, but I don’t know his name. Were you close to him?” It was a similar question to the one she had asked Catalyst, and it wasn’t meant to distract the woman. It appeared that Alexey was too smart to fall for the normal puppy antics of skirting around getting into trouble, so Princess had decided it would be a better idea to be straight with her. “I was looking, but not really looking, for Buttface,” she admitted sheepishly, but looking alarmed, amended it quickly, “But please don’t tell my mom. I promised I wouldn’t, because we’re better off without him, and he’s probably not even here, anyway.” Her eyes were wide with alarm at what she had said, as she had not been planning on telling anyone she was looking for her brother. She wasn’t supposed to be looking for him, and in fact, she’d been basically threatened. It wasn’t a threat to her life, but all the same, it had been a threat that, admittedly, scared her immensely.

Alexey couldn’t help but doubt the sincerity of the adolescent’s remorse; having realized, through conversation with both mother and daughter, that both of them were good actresses. The Caregiver genuinely liked Princess though, and chose to believe her despite the controversy in her explanation. What truly mattered was her wellbeing. “No, I wasn’t close to him but my sister was.” she admitted, suddenly remembering why she’d come to Halifax in first place. The Acer would escort the teenager back to Dahlia de Mai and then continue her search for Adelaida.

“I’ll tell your mom if you don’t get moving,” she warned, golden-hued eyes sparking with mischief. A gentle push accompanied her empty threat, anything to make the girl move towards Dahlia de Mai. She couldn’t understand why the youngster was so hell-bent on hiding her intentions from Tokyo. What was wrong with Buttface? Aside from his name, of course. “If you’re better off without him, how come you came all the way out here looking for him?” she challenged, wrinkling her nose in confusion. The Chance family was definitely a weird bunch.

Her ears perked up at the Acer’s comment. She had a sister? Then she must understand why Princess had to find Buttface, even though she wasn’t supposed to! Half-heartedly, she wondered if Alexey was close to her sister, just as she had been close to Buttface, before they had been separated by their mother, inadvertently. Catalyst had not known Ril’o personally, but she had been upset over his death, as well. “Was Ril’o nice? He must have been, if everyone misses me,” she added. It seemed like she should take his death as a warning, but she just. . . Couldn’t. Princess did not want to be kept in the pack lands forever, unable to roam whenever she pleased. That wasn’t why she had joined the pack. She simply couldn’t, absolutely couldn’t, live like a prisoner. But maybe she should stay in the pack lands, just for a little bit longer, until it wouldn’t make Alexey angry if she wandered off for a bit.

She yelped in surprise as Alexey nudged her and threatened her gently. Grinning, Princess shook her head. It was doubtful that Tokyo would actually care much if Princess wandered around, in her mind. Tokyo hadn’t cared about her for so long that it was strange to be back in her mother’s life and to be cared about again. “I guess I should be getting back. I don’t want her to worry,” she added, clarifying that she wasn’t going back to please Alexey, she was going back because she wanted to. “Well. . . My mom says we’re better off without him. I’m not supposed to talk about him. . . But, I really miss him, secretly.” Looking away from the woman, Princess fought against the welling emotion. She truly did miss him, and it pained her to be forbidden to talk about him. “Please, don’t tell my mom I was looking for him, or even that I said something. You can tell her I was here, just. . . Please don’t tell her why,” she mumbled quietly, hoping Alexey would just leave it at that for now.

Wow I fail at replying. I'll make it up to you whenever we have another thread, promise! You can either reply or close this, love. 300+

Princess’ question was one she could not answer. She barely knew Ril’o; never had they exchanged words, not even a silent greeting. It was a shame, how they had never acknowledged each other. Despite their lack of communication, Alexey still appreciated him. He’d kept Adelaida on her toes, away from insanity’s grasp, when both sisters had been too busy arguing their hearts out over trivial things. And now that everything was better between the Koios girls, now that she had the proper opportunity to thank him for everything he’d done, he was gone. His body was resting six feet below in a cemetery located a few yards away from the house she shared with Conor. “He was a very nice man,” she decided, knowing deep within her heart that it was the truth. For Adelaida to have grown so attached to him in such a short period of time; he must’ve been wonderful.

The teenager complied, and the Acer felt a little relieved by the words that tumbled out of her mouth. She wasn’t sure whether Tokyo was the type to actually worry about her daughter; the blue-eyed woman had seemed rather indifferent upon learning that Princess was back in the picture. First impressions weren’t always the most accurate, and Lexey did her best not to misjudge her fellow pack mate. It was hard not to, though. The adolescent’s occasional slip-ups were quite disturbing, especially the ones pertaining to her brother. How could a mother claim to be better off without her child? Alexey found it hard to believe and yet, it seemed unlikely that Princess would lie about such a thing. “I understand. My brother left me and my sister once. I missed him a lot, just as much as you miss Buttface.” she admitted with a faint smile.

The Caregiver purposely left out the fact that she hadn’t forgiven Sankor for what he’d done. She was being childish but it couldn’t be helped. “I won’t tell her, just...” she said, finally caving in. Ratting out pups wasn’t too appealing to the Acer anyway. “Let’s go, ‘Cess.” That being said, she gave the little rebel another firm nudge towards Dahlia de Mai.
