Among the broken mirrors I don't look the same

Uhm, so she's practically a mute by choice. At least for now.

It had been a long while since she had graced the lands with her presence. Too long in fact and that long amount of time she had spent away from the lands had made her homesick. Not that she missed her father or mother, but more so the lands themselves. Inferni had been home to her even if she had only stayed within the lands for a short while with her parents, it had been enough to make her want to go back now. Whether or not she had family even remaining here she never knew. There was something about the lands that always brought them back. All the ones who wandered away, they always came back at least once in their life. There was some kind of magic within the lands that always lead them back home.

Oversized white ears flickered up atop her head as she blinked out across the lands. Her short slender muzzle dipping down to the ground lightly sniffing at it for any familiar scents. There were a few in particular she noticed. One of the major ones being Faolin's mate, Gabriel. He must have still been the leader. A few others were mixed in and a bunch of faint scents that obviously had not been there for a while. Whatever the case, there were still people here she knew. Well, she knew a little bit about Gabriel. Only having met the male a few times as she had watched the adults converse when she was much younger and not understanding a lick of their conversations. She was much too young then.

The emaciated form of the white female slunk beneath the shadows of the trees. Her white body now sticking out in the darkened forest. She tended to travel at night because she enjoyed the darkness. The night redivivus with the great moon shining bright like it had months before when she had returned for only a short while. No one had known of her presence then. With the sun set only an hour prior she made her move to creep along the borders of Inferni. Not that she was hoping to find family here, she at least wanted to know if they were there. So far, she found nothing. All the girl could do was let out a short sigh before taking a seat, her thick tail wrapping around her forepaws as she hunched over in thought. Scarlet red eyes blinked a few times as she glanced out across the borders of Inferni as she sat beneath the tree, kneading the dirt with her small forepaws.

She had not expected her days to be so .. dull. Yes, that was the word. She felt useless, and knew that this was not only a feeling. She could have spent it taking some additional rounds around the territory to gain further knowledge about the lands, but she felt nervous. There was family in these lands, and she was slowly realizing that she was avoiding them. Was it the shame? The Lykoi girl did not think that they would judge her harshly for her sire’s sins. Enigma was one of those that did. Although the dark girl found the general purebred wolf unattractive in many ways, she did not judge such individuals as harshly as her sand coloured brother. Jael was the same as then, although his appearance was not ideal. It was foolish to be so judgemental, especially with one’s own flesh and blood.

The girl groaned loudly as she padded aimlessly along the clan’s borders, not knowing what she believed in anymore. The trespasser was a most welcome surprise, and the youth quickened her pace to investigate what the stranger wanted. Ruby eyes were alert as she slowly approached, although Halo outmatched the other female’s size despite the fact that she was not fully grown. It was another coyote. What was it with odd alabaster coyotes and these lands? The Lykoi offspring could only assume that she was of mixed spirits, or something odd. She wanted to have knowledge to lean against for support. This was the second white coyote the darker girl had met, although Siobhan had been a member of Inferni. This one was nothing.

The girl cocked her head ever so slightly. ”Hi there,” the Inferni member called out, her tail slightly lifted as if to display dominance.

Blargh, exams! -shot-

She had came here for more than one reason and that reason had almost slipped her mind. The girl had stumbled upon Faolin and wasn't she a strange sight to see. The woman had looked starved and half crazed talking about Inferni being destroyed and everyone was dead. Midnight was not even sure if the woman had noticed her at all, but had just started blankly through her, her red eyes clouded over, a sort of madness enveloping her. Midnight shuddered as she thought about her sister that way. It was a strange sight to see, but after falling asleep next to her Faolin had upped and disappeared before she woke up the next morning. The white girl had tried to search for her, but there was nothing to be found.

Midnight clicked her teeth together as she sat there at the borders of Inferni. She wanted to find Gabriel, to figure out what happened, what went wrong and wondering why the hell Faolin thought he was dead. She was quite known for her prescience amongst her siblings, but this was something that definitely threw her off. Maybe the lands were filled with disease, but everything seemed to be just fine here. The girl gave a startled flick of her ears as the sound of another voice filled her thoughts. Hi there. The alabaster femme turned her silky muzzle to the female in question and gave a slight tip of her head, watching her in silence trying to figure out whether this was one of their kids. She had heard of her sister being pregnant, but she was not quite sure how old those pups would be now.

So, without making the girl wait any longer, Midnight gave a friendly dip of her head. Opening her mouth slightly to speak, but she shut it abruptly again. Not sure what to do, let alone say, considering she had not uttered a single word in months. It was strange, but speaking was hardly something she could do at the moment. Hence her dilemma with finding Gabriel. It would be hard to explain if she could not directly tell him.

The dark girl watched the alabaster female turn in her direction. A small nod was offered, but not much more it seemed. Halo’s oversized ears folded backwards once it was clear that this was all she would get from the other. The Lykoi girl saw this as rather rude, especially since her own voice had sung with friendliness. She lowered her head slightly and narrowed her eyes slowly until they were two ruby lines. Halo’s slim limbs started to bring her closer to the alabaster woman, though her body was tenser now than it had originally been when she had first greeted the other female. Although she was unsure what she could do and what she could not, she did not want to have weirdoes wandering around near the skull lined borders of her clan. At the same time she was curious. There was expectation present. Perhaps she actually hoped for some action to prove to her that she had come to the right place.

”Are you too egotistical to talk to a lowly hybrid, is that it?” the girl spat out, hoping it was so. She was already larger than the alabaster woman, a clear sign of her mixed heritage. Her rich fur bristled slightly, increasing her unnatural size even more, daring the other to come with a smart comment back. The youth would accept anything, really.

Sorry for the wait! I am back now! Big Grin

Seeing as Midnight was a hybrid herself the girl frowned and shook her head quickly back and forth. Her ears folded back against her head and she stared down at her paws, eying the girl for a moment before letting her gaze drop back down to her white paws again. How could she explain that one day she just stopped talking. Well, of course there was a reason behind it, but she had pushed those memories so far from her mind she had forgotten about them. Well, at least locked them up. Since that day she never wanted to talk again. Even if she tried, she was not sure why, but nothing would come out. It was one of the vagaries in life that were completely unexplainable.

One thing she remembered though, ever since she had lost her will to speak the woman woke up sweating and panting every night with the sound of someone screaming in her head. She was not sure if it was her own voice or what. Considering she could not even recognize her own voice due to the fact she had not used it in over half a year. Red eyes turned back up to the female and she tried to figure out some way to make it clear to her that she was not able to speak. Not that she did not want to speak to the girl, she wanted so badly to tell her everything.

Midnight opened and breathed out hard, no noise except the sound of escape air coming from her through. She shut her muzzle and frowned and then figured to use gestures maybe. She lifted one paw up and pointed to her throat, using her wrist and resting it against it lightly. Her ears flew up and she tilted her head to the side wondering if she understood her means of communication.

Halo would never be able to guess the other woman’s problem if she had been refused any hints. The girl spun into her offensive stance, wearing it on her skin like a dress. Her mental beating reassured her that everyone knew what and who she was. She imagined they saw her as unworthy no matter the faction she was compared to. At least Jael and Enigma could pose as wolves if they wished to. The girl was unsure if she could pull off such a stunt successfully. She was mostly wolf, but her grandmother’s genes of dog and coyote had managed to stick to her appearance and attempt to fight back the majority of wolf in her. It should be the heart’s choice what she was, but the tension was reluctant to let go. How long would her heart beat wildly on this subject?

The girl hesitated in her movement to observe the loner coyote struggle to communicate. Well, how hard could it be to just open her mouth and make sounds? Large coyote ears flickered forward to register the empty huff of air rushing out between the other woman’s lips. No, nothing. The Lykoi mirrored the stranger’s frown. She wished the other would just leave, as it was uncomfortable without the possibility to communicate. ”What do you want? Oh, and it would be great if you could speak properly so that I can be able to understand you.” she announced, voice not completely hostile, but still far from friendly. She could not even find the will to pretend to be pleasant.

”Or you could simply turn around and leave Inferni borders” and make it easier for them both.. Halo was young and arrogant and acted it out like any youth of that particular kind would. However, she did understand the problem. She just did not want to deal with it.
